Chapter 1241: Chapter 419: Following

”Lord Rein, I am willing to voluntarily tell you the purpose of our visit to the Secret Realm this time.” Areda seemed worried that Rein might attack suddenly, and hurriedly spoke.

”Furthermore, I am willing to serve you as my master. I only have one request, and that is that you please spare my sister.”

”Sister?” Ailida’s eyes widened in disbelief, looking at her sister, apparently completely surprised by Areda’s words.

”Oh? You wish to recognize me as your master?” Rein’s hand paused as he heard this, pondering.

But soon, he thought of a problem.

Rein pointed to the sky and said, ”You two believe in the entity from the Secret Snake Sect, can you freely recognize me as your master? Won’t you suffer backlash from your initiation oath immediately?”

”Lord Rein, in general circumstances, it’s true as you say.”

”However... this place is different, this is the Dragon Valley Secret Realm, the Divine Power of the Devouring Snake doesn’t affect here.” Areda confessed frankly.

”Oh?” Hearing Areda mentioning the Devouring Snake without any evasion, Rein’s eyes lit up, and he looked seriously at both women.

Because Areda’s words undeniably piqued Rein’s interest.

Not because Areda was charming in appearance and graceful in figure, but because he noticed the sincere emotion in her eyes when she looked at her sister.

Rein also has a sister, so he could most empathize with Areda’s feelings at the moment.

This made Rein recall the times he and his sister Bo He were deeply connected in Flashgold Town.

Additionally, another point that moved him was indeed he lacked followers at the Legendary Level.

He didn’t even have followers at the Quasi-Legendary Level.

The only follower Viery was merely a Great Knight, not yet mastering Advanced Secret Skill, and was still in Mingster, limited by being a Sword Bearer.

If he could truly gain Areda’s allegiance, it indeed could resolve many issues for him.

Seeing Rein’s interest, Areda promptly said:

”Lord Rein, though after pledging allegiance to you, I will lose the favor of the Devouring Snake’s power, unable to use some special abilities, my strength will be weakened significantly.”

”But rest assured, I should at least possess late-stage Legendary strength, enough to assist you with some tasks.”

”Sister, I disagree!” Sister Ailida finally reacted from her shock, her eyes turning red, and shouted.

Because the scenario at the moment reminded Ailida instantly of about ten years ago, when she and her sister Areda were wandering, her sister sheltered her from the wind and rain, protecting her with a frail body.

Back then, neither of them had joined the Secret Snake Sect, they were just ordinary people, often ridiculed and bullied by other children in town.

Unexpectedly, similar scenes resurfaced at this moment.

”Sister, don’t be willful.”

”Listen.” Areda worried that Rein would get angry, feeling anxious, one hand covering her abdomen, the other gently touching her sister’s head, squeezing out a smile.

”Sister, if it really must be this way, then let it be me! Lord Rein, no, Lord Rein, since childhood, my sister protected me, I wish to protect my sister this time.”

”I am willing to become your follower, pledge allegiance to you, but I pray you, allow my sister to leave.” Ailida’s eyes were red as she looked at Rein.

After a brief contemplation, Rein shook his head, saying, ”If I let your sister go, how do I know she won’t trouble me?”

”With such deep affection, do you think your sister won’t come looking for you?”

Though his inner emotions were stirred, considering the consequences of letting one go...

Evidently, Rein’s questions left both women unable to answer for a moment.

If they said she won’t, it would be self-deception.

For a while, the scene fell into silence.

”Alright, time’s almost up.” Rein looked at the two women, saying.

”Wait! Lord Rein, then let us both become your followers, what do you think?” Ailida’s expression became serious, seemingly determined internally, saying.

She then seriously looked at Areda and said, ”Sister, I don’t want you to die here.”

”This...” Areda hesitated slightly, but after a moment, she nodded, seemingly agreeing with her sister’s proposal.

”Oh? You’ve really thought this through?” Rein raised an eyebrow, saying.

This was quite unexpected for him.

If this was the case, it’s not impossible to consider.

The first point to clarify is that having two late-stage Legendary followers is undoubtedly beneficial, but needs two issues resolved.

The first point is ensuring loyalty.

This depends on the followers’ contract.

Coincidentally, he had just rummaged two followers’ contracts from Barnes’s bag, not knowing if Barnes had prepared them for Reagan and Bronson.

Additionally, he himself carried one, obtained from his mentor Mogaro’s Contract Scroll.

In other words, the first point was resolved.

And the second point is needing to respond to Secret Snake Sect’s possible reactions.

Upon reflection, Rein felt completely unafraid.

After all, those to offend, he had already offended severely, like the Sea God Sect, and like the Nether Sea Goddess Hela!

As for the cults not yet offended, sooner or later, due to his identity and actions as a Sword Bearer, he would offend them severely.

Given this, why worry so much!

”Alright, then let’s sign the followers’ contract!” Rein nodded and smiled.
