Chapter 1048: Last Three Battles(1)

The Early and Intermediate Divine Lord Bustard Foxes charged at the Rocky Mountain Bear.

Even though one of the foxes had higher cultivation, it made no difference in the battle. The Rocky Mountain Bear was like an undefeated champion of war as it crushed the intermediate Divine Lord Bustard Fox.

At that time, Orek also commanded the bear to stop his playing time and end the battle.

The bear didnʼt refuse its ownerʼs command and activated Earthquake. The next moment, the land beneath the foxʼs feet began shaking, and the earth devoured it in no time.

The Bustard Fox struggled with all its might to escape the clutches of the earth. Unfortunately for it, its strength was lacking, and all its attempts failed. In the end, only its corpse was left mangled due to the debris from the earth.

The next moment, the mangled corpse exploded into light particles, which soon gathered to form a card, which flew into its ownerʼs hands.

Roar!

The Rocky Mountain Bear let out a victorious roar and returned to its ownerʼs side. Orek and the bear looked like buddies due to their large sizes.

Orek tapped on the bearʼs shoulder, and soon after, the bear turned into a card and flew into his hands.

The next moment, a white light covered Orek, and soon after, he appeared in the seating area.

Only three participants were left fighting for the top position, and the top three for the competition also appeared.

The next moment, numbers between 1 and 3 got assigned to Ayriel, Elwynn, and Orek.

Since there were three participants, like in the second stage, there would be three battles, with each participant facing the other two, and whoever would come out on top of that after the end would be crowned as the winner, and henceforth.

The projection above the area changed as the three sets of battles appeared on the projection. They were: 1 vs. 3, 2 vs. 3, and 1 vs. 2.

The number 1 was assigned to Ayriel, 2 to Orek, and 3 to Elwynn.

Ayriel and Elwynn appeared on the platform to start the first of the last three battles.

”Allowing betting for the final battle doesnʼt make any sense here,” Lily said after the top three for the last stage appeared.

”So, do you want to start betting now?” Aakesh smiled and asked. Like many others, Lily also lost the bet in the second stage when she bet on the Silver Pigeon.

”Yes,” Lily nodded.

Lily believed that this way, the number of bets would increase as there would be several odds in the battles.

Aakesh nodded and agreed with Lilyʼs suggestion. Since Aakesh was the man behind the event, the decision completely depended on him.

***

Even though both Ayriel and Elwynn had been in the arena for a few minutes, the battle still hadnʼt begun, as betting odds appeared on the projection.

There were six betting odds, starting with the battle between Ayriel and Elwynn and ending with the odds of participants becoming winners.

In Ayriel vs. Elwynn, the betting odds for both sides didnʼt have much difference. Ayrielʼs odds were 1.08, while Elwynnʼs odds were 1.13.

For the second battle between Orek and Elwynn, the odds for Orek were 1.07, and for Elwynn, it was 1.08. For the last fight between Ayriel and Orek, the odds for Ayriel were 1.12, and for Orek, they were 1.07.

In the end, there were odds for the top positions of the participants. For Ayriel becoming the winner, the odds were 1.11; for Elwynn, the odds were 1.21; and for Orek, the odds were 1.09.

The betting odds showed Orek at the top of the three participants, and then Lily gave them five minutes to make their respective bets.

”Who are you betting on?” Geoff asked his friend as he saw the betting odds on the screen.

”The winning margin is low no matter who we bet on unless we bet a large amount,” Torto replied as he focused on the screen.

Geoff also nodded and focused on the screen, as he was currently in a loss, while Torto was in profit, so he thought of following his friend.

There were many discussions like those between Geoff and Torto in the crowd since those who were losing wanted to make up for it while those who had profited wanted to earn more.

And soon, just like that, the time limit of five minutes ended.

The paper in front of people in the crowd disappeared. Those who had bet during the time had their bets written on the paper, while those who failed, were disqualified from betting.

***

Lily smiled after seeing the number of bets made by the people. The betting amount wasnʼt very high since the majority of the bets were in lesser Sacred stones, but the sheer amount of them would create a gigantic mountain of stones if taken out together.

”At least make a token bet,” Lily said to Aakesh, as he didnʼt make any bets this round either.

Aakesh could only helplessly sigh and make the token bet. As for who he bet on, that was a secret for Lily.

Lily scoffed when Aakesh hid whom he bet on. She only wanted to see Aakesh betting because whoever he bet on would be the winner.

Aakesh also knew why Lily wanted him to bet, so he kept it a secret.

”Give me some hints on who could be the winner,” Lily requested, making a cute face.

Sigh!

Aakesh helplessly sighed once again and whispered something in Lilyʼs ears.

When Lily saw Aakesh giving her hints, her face brightened up but then she heard what Aakesh said, ”The winner has an ultimate quality beast.”

Hmph!

Lily scoffed and moved her face away, not wanting to look at the smile on Aakeshʼs face anymore.

The participants could also make a bet, but neither of the three made one since they didnʼt like quantifying their strengths.

Ayriel and Elwynn were already present in the battle arena, and soon they summoned their beasts.

The cards exploded to form the two creatures on their ownersʼ respective sides.

Roar! Caw!

The Chaotic Wyrm and the Nightingale Crow were both top species, so they roared to welcome each other.

The Chaotic Wyrm was an overlord race of the Sacred Dimension at one time, but Nightingale Crow had also been a ruling race of the beast groups since its creation.

Inside the store, the details of the two beasts appeared on the screen one after another.

Ding!

The bell rang, announcing the start of the first battle.

The Chaotic Wyrm was an early Divine Lord already, but the Nightingale Crow was a peak Divine Lord, so its cultivation dropped too early, with all its nine skills available in the arsenal.

Despite not having a characteristic, and being only at an early level, the Chaotic Wyrm was still only some hundred supreme Sacred stones, cheaper than the peak level Nightingale Crow.

The people sitting in the crowd were filled with excitement as the two ultimate quality beasts, the Nightingale Crow and the Chaotic Wyrm, stood facing each other.

The crowd was eager to see the outcome of the battle, as there were many bets on the result of the battle as well as the fact that these two creatures were formidable and there would be no lack of fighting when they battled.

Whoosh! Roar!

The Nightingale Crow spread its wings, creating a gust of wind that shook the arena, while the Chaotic Wyrm let out a deafening roar, causing the ground to tremble.

The Nightingale Crow took to the air, flying above the arena. The Chaotic Wyrm followed as it was also an aerial creature, and it charged forward.

The wyrm used Inferno Breath, releasing a powerful blast of fire, aiming to engulf the crow. The crow quickly dodged the attack as its speed immediately accelerated in the air.

Roar!

The wyrm let out a loud roar and used the same skill again, forcing the crow to dodge again. The crow wanted to retaliate, but whenever it would dodge one blast of fire, another would come, aiming to engulf it.
