Chapter 1045: Third Round!

There were twenty-one battles in the first round of the stage, and one after another fight happened. The results were sometimes one-sided, while other times, the competition was equal, with no winner to be found until the last strike.

It was now time for the seventeenth battle, with the number of participants being 19 and 40.

The two opponents were familiar. A wry smile spread across their faces since they were relatives.

The two members were Bisthal and Bester, the brother duo of the Wheat-Spottted Demon race.

Even though Bester was Bisthalʼs brother, he wanted to defeat him, so his eyes were solemn, and he summoned the beast. Bester also summoned the beast.

The next moment, two beasts appeared in the arena, and soon after, their details appeared on the screen one after another for the crowd to see.

[Name: Birch Dryad

[Name: Ghost Wolf

Type: Beast

Race: Wolf

Quality: Supreme

Element: Spirit

Cultivation: Early Divine Lord

…

Price: Three hundred supreme Sacred stones.]

Bisthal was the owner of the Birch Dryad, while Besterʼs beast was the Ghost Wolf.

Ding!

The bell rang, announcing the start of the battle.

Howl!

The Ghost Wolf howled, activating Spirit Howl. The Birch Dryadʼs movements stopped and became disoriented.

The Ghost Wolf used that window to its advantage and pounced. Its movements were quick, and it reached the opponent in no time.

The Birch Dryad immediately activated Armor. The next moment, wooden elements in the sky gathered and formed a shield, stopping the Ghost Wolf.

Howl!

The Ghost Wolf howled once again, but this time, the Birch Dryad had already prepared for it. It activated Healing Touch.

The Birch Dryad didnʼt have an attacking skill, so it could only use the wooden element to create thorns and branches connected to her beautiful green hair.

The wolf used its quick movement to dodge the barrage of branches coming at it, but the numbers overwhelmed it, so it had no choice but to activate Ethereal Shield.

Time flew by, and it was another long battle that went on for more than five minutes.

Even without any attacking skill, its tough defense helped the dryad.

Howl!

The Ghost Wolf howled, looking at the sky. The next moment, a pack of seven wolves appeared in the arena. It was the best skill in the wolfʼs arsenal, but at the same time, its energy demand was outrageous.

Since the battle wasnʼt going anywhere, Bester decided to take the risk and end the fight.

If it were earlier, the Birch Dryad would at least have some chances to fight back against so many wolves, but not now. The sheer number of wolves overwhelmed the dryad, ending the battle for Bisthal in this competition.

The ghost wolves summoned slowly faded into disappearance while the Ghost Wolf crashed to the ground, as only these few seconds exhausted the majority of her remaining energy.

Bisthal congratulated Bester before a red light engulfed him, and a white light covered Bester.

Time flew by, and soon all twenty-one battles for the first round were over.

All the winners were covered in silver lights in the seating area.

The light covering all the participants disappeared, and a new set of numbers, starting from 1 and ending at 21, were assigned to all the participants.

Since the number of participants wasnʼt even, one number automatically passed to the next round.

The next moment, ”17” appeared on the projection above the battlefield.

Participant number 17 became excited, as he would have to fight one less battle now.

Some looked at the man with envy, while others didnʼt care. They knew that it was only the early stages, and passing to the next round without fighting didnʼt make much of a difference in the top three ranks.

The projection changed once again, showing the ten sets of battles for the second round.

The participants who got the chance to grace the arena for the first battle were numbers 2 and 19.

A white light covered these participants as they appeared on the battlefield, each vying for a spot in the third round.

The participants summoned their beasts, and soon the bell rang, announcing the start of the battle.

One was the Gray Fox, while the other was the Silver Manticore. The battles between the two were cruel and bloody, with neither of the two willing to give up on the battle.

The fight between the two went on for more than ten minutes. Finally, the victor was decided in a cruel, bestial way as the Manticore ripped the Gray Fox apart, ending its life.

Not long after that, the Manticore also fell, taking its last breath, but since the Gray Fox was the first to die, the Manticore and its owner became the winners.

Time flew by, and one after another battle happened in the second round.

After the round was over, there were eleven participants left, and as it was another odd set of parties, one contestant automatically passed to the third round.

The seventeenth participant wasnʼt lucky anymore as he had to battle in this round, while the number seven participant, Ayriel, became the one to step onto the next stage.

When the participants saw that it was Ayriel who had been selected, almost all of them breathed a sigh of relief. Ayriel and her Chaotic Wyrm had completely decimated their opponent in both last rounds.

The third round finally began with the battle between participants numbers 6 and 11.
