The First Store System

Chapter 1042: Second Stage(1)

”How much did you win?” Riddley asked Fidel.

How could she not know how her husband was? She was sure that Fidel had bet on William to win the battle.

A wide smile appeared on Fidelʼs face, and he responded, ”Nineteen ultimate Sacred stones.”

Riddley couldnʼt help but look at her husband dumbfoundedly as the amount bet by him was an enormous sum.

***

”How are you going to pay the sum?” Lily asked Aakesh.

”From the betting amount,” Aakesh responded. At this stage, the winning amount was more than the amount collected from the betting, but Aakesh was certain that this situation wouldnʼt last for long.

Those who had won in this round would try to win more and bet big, while those who had lost but still had enough money would try to make up for the loss. Aakesh was sure that at the end of the last battle in the competition, the store would be in profit.

The projection above the arena changed, as it was now time for the Divine Being beasts to battle.

The number of participants participating in this stage was 24, the least of the three. The next moment, a random number starting at 1 and ending at 24 appeared above all participants.

The projection above the arena showed the battles for the first round in this stage. The first set of opponents were the numbers 21 and 23.

The next moment, a white light covered these two participants, and they appeared in the arena.

The battles in the Divine Transformation stage helped the future participants a lot since many of them were fighting with beasts for the first time. The creative strategies and the implementations taught many things to the participants in the Divine Being and Divine Lord stages.

***

The two participants summoned their beasts to start the battle. One was Ruby, who owned Qi Roc, while the other one was Farly, and her beast was Mist Crow.

The people in the crowd became excited to see the details of the beasts they had never seen before.

The screen didnʼt disappoint them, and soon the details of the beasts appeared on the screen, one after another, with a gap of five seconds.

The Mist Crow was a beautiful bird with dark blue feathers that appeared to glow like water droplets in the sun. Its eyes were a bright, piercing blue, and its beak and talons were a dark gray. The Mist Crow was slightly larger than a regular crow, with a wingspan of 2.5 feet.

(A/N: For the Qi Roc, please read chapter 1013.)

Ding!

The bell rang, announcing the start of the first battle at this stage.

Since both sides were birds, they took flight in the sky. The Qi Roc was thrice the size of the Mist Crow, so it showed its momentum and cried a piercing roar.

The Mist Crow activated Shower Cloud, covering the sky with misty clouds. It was the crowʼs playground, so its movement became more smooth and quick.

Cry!

Boom!

The Qi Roc was a strong attacking beast, and it showed that right from the start. It slashed its talons, activating Qi Slash.

The next moment, pure Qi energy appeared in the sky and flew toward the Mist Crow.

It was pure energy, so its movement was extremely quick. At that moment, the mist in the air helped the Mist Crow as it disappeared from its spot and appeared in a different area in the air.

”Qi Blast!”

The Qi Roc opened its mouth, and the next moment, a blast of Qi swept across the arena, destroying whatever mist was in the air.

Time flew by, and it had been around a minute since the battle between the two began.

Neither of the two parties was able to gain complete dominance over the other, so the battle was still equal.

More time flew by, and after what felt like hours but was only a few minutes, the Qi Roc slashed at the Mist Crow from behind.

At that moment, the Mist Crow had no energy left to dodge or use Mist Step, so it could only face the attack. The Qi Slash was an extremely sharp skill, and it cut the crow into two clean pieces, ending the battle.

The two pieces of the crow exploded into light particles, which soon gathered to form the card.

Ruby won the first battle and became the first participant to step into the next round. The next moment, a white light covered her, while a red light covered Farly.

Time flew by, and one battle after another happened. Some were one-sided with complete dominance, while others were where the competition was equal, and with that, the first round came to an end.

There were twelve participants left for the next round, and all of them were shrouded in silver lights. The projection above the arena changed once again, as a new set of numbers floated above the participants and their matches appeared on the projection.

The first battle in the second round was between numbers 3 and 11. The next moment, they appeared in the arena, ready to battle and pass on to the next round.
