The First Store System

Chapter 1031: First Battle!

Aakesh announced the rewards for all three rounds of competitions. He then waved his hands, and soon after, the space around the platform began to crack open, forming a portal.

”Enter!” Aakesh ordered the group of participants to the ground.

The participants nodded and entered the portal one by one. The next moment, every one of them found themselves in an arena, sitting on a chair.

There were three rows of chairs in the arena, the closest to the ground being for Divine Transformation, while the top row related to Divine Lord beast owners.

Inside the store, a screen, appeared for every ten customers, so that no one would miss any action.

The next moment, the screen lightened up, and the scene of the arena appeared in front of them.

***

The Divine Transformation beasts would be the first to participate in the competition.

There were sixty-three participants in the Divine Transformation group, so the system created a table of them and randomly matched them with other participants. Since only 31 battle opponents could be formed, one received a bye, passing to the next round because of their luck.

The next moment, a projection appeared in the arena, providing a random number starting at 1 and ending at 63 to the participants. The number appeared above the participantʼs head, floating virtually.

The next moment, the battle opponents appeared on the screen, starting with the first battle and ending with the sole participant who would pass to the next round without a fight.

The first battle was between numbers 37 and 53, while the participant who passed the round due to their luck was number 23.

The number 23 participant seated in the arena was Elasha. The next moment, a silver light covered her, signifying that she had passed the first round.

Elasha smiled and thanked the store owner in her mind.

It was now time for the first battle between numbers 37 and 53. The next moment, a white light covered these participants, and they appeared on the ground.

The participants took out the beast cards they owned and soon summoned them.

The next moment, two new beasts appeared in the arena. Many in the crowd saw them for the first time.

The competition was one way to promote the beasts as well, so the next moment, on the screen, the details of the beast appeared for the crowd in the store to see.

On the screen was the Gray Harrow. Its body was composed entirely of a gnarled and twisted mass of gray-brown wood, with bark that seemed to ripple and writhe like a living thing. Its limbs were thick and sturdy, with massive roots that extended deep into the ground to anchor it in place right after it appeared on the battlefield.

Many in the crowd gasped upon seeing the details of the Gray Harrow. Since they didnʼt know anything about the difference in quality, the most shocking factor for them was the price of the beast.

Five seconds after the Gray Harrowʼs detail, the screen showed details of the second beast in the battle.

It was an ordinary quality, Dreaded Bat, with two skills in its arsenal. The people still gasped in shock as it still cost more than what they could afford.

Ding!

A bell rang in the participantʼs ears, announcing the start of the battle.

Matthew owned the Gray Harrow, while David owned the Dreaded Bat. Davidʼs expression was ugly as it got feedback from its beast that the opponent is very strong.

Since giving up was never an option, David gritted his teeth and ordered his beast right after the bell rang.

”Charge!” The command was spiritual, so the other party wonʼt listen to it.

”Use the Roar of Terror!” Matthew commanded.

Roar!

The Gray Harrow followed the order and roared, stopping the Dreaded Batʼs charge midway. The beast wasnʼt restricted from making a move unless their owner ordered them. So before Matthew could give his second order, the Gray Harrow activated the Shadow Step, and the next moment, it emerged directly behind the Dreaded Bat from its shadow.

The Dreaded Bat felt a chill crawling down its spine, so it immediately turned around and screamed. The voice was eerie, like the voice of a wraith.

The Graty Harrowʼs branch stopped for a moment, but the next moment, its sharp branch continued ahead and pierced through the batʼs eyes, soon crushing its brain.

The Gray Harrow has the characteristic, Hunterʼs instincts, so its strikes were deadly. Davidʼs face turned pale when he saw the corpse of the Dreaded Bat. Aakesh had already informed the participants that the beast wouldnʼt die, or David would have gone crazy from the scene in front of him.

The next moment, the Dreaded Bat in the arena exploded into light particles, and soon the particles gathered to form the card, which flew into Davidʼs hands.

Matthew looked surprised at the scene in front of him, and soon he smiled wryly, as he wouldnʼt be able to command the Gray Harrow to end the battle this swiftly.

The crowd in the store had shocked expressions as they saw the battle. It ended soon after it began, but it showed the capability of the beasts bought from the store.

It was the sixth battle in the first round, and as usual, the detail of the beasts appeared on the screen for the crowd to see. On the screen was a terrifying and monstrous creature with the body of a lion, the wings of an eagle, and the tail of a serpent. Its head is that of a lion, and it has one other, smaller head, that of a serpent. Its body was covered in dark, scaly skin that seemed to shimmer in the light. The creature stood on four powerful legs, each tipped with razor-sharp claws, on the battlefield.

Many in the crowd shuddered as they saw the beast. Fortunately for them, the beast wasnʼt in front of them, or many would have run from the area.

Despite getting used to seeing higher prices, the people in the crowd couldnʼt help but suck a cold breath when they saw the cost of the Dreadful Chimera. It was in the supreme Sacred stones, a title they had never heard of, so the shock was even greater.

The opponent of the Dreadful Chimera was no less formidable, as it was the Shadow Hunter, belonging to Fidel. When its details appeared on the screen, many in the crowd couldnʼt close their mouths for several seconds.

Both creatures were top predator species, but the Shadow Hunter was the stronger party, as a single roar from it was enough to force the Dreadful Chimera to kneel.
