Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 1240: Chapter 569: Pregnant, Changing Careers to Gym Leader, Gathering Six Electric-Type Pokemon?

League Year 202, March 31: the last day of spring. Today, the Levincia Gym is closed, so Lono stayed back at the ranch to help Naoki with some simple tasks.

Once spring is over, the scorching summer follows closely. Before the season changes, all the crops in the farmland need to be harvested and collected, and then the summer crop seeds must be sown.

The couple together piled up the harvested crops into the warehouse, then went to the Berry Garden to pick the ripe berries.

Lono headed to the Chicken House to collect eggs with Pawmot’s help, while Naoki went to the Underground Cave where Garganacl and Dugtrio lived to gather Rock Salt.

By the time everything was done, it was already noon.

Lono took out a handkerchief from somewhere and stood on tiptoe to wipe Naoki’s sweat, then smiled mischievously and said:

“Tired? I’ll cook for you. I’ve recently learned two new dishes. Let me show off my cooking skills!”

Naoki bent down to make it easier for Lono to wipe his sweat, a smile appearing on his face, saying, “Alright, then I’ll go check the apples in the Apple Garden.”

“Okay, go ahead!”

Lono went home to cook, while Naoki, with Koraidon, went across the river to the Apple Garden.

The garden was filled with apple trees, each laden with large and plump berries, whose quality, under Naoki and Gogoat’s cultivation, surpassed even the red apples of Kitakami.

But these premium apples often attract many Pokémon, with Applin being one of them.

A while back, there was an Applin on the tree, but it has since evolved into an Appletun and was sent by Naoki to live on the World Tree.

After carefully inspecting the Apple Garden, Naoki indeed spotted several new Applin that had moved in.

Koraidon went up and sniffed them, causing the Applin to immediately shrink away in fear, trembling there.

Naoki: “…”

“Alright, Koraidon, don’t scare them,” Naoki said helplessly.

For these Pokémon, Naoki didn’t really plan on driving them away.

Having Applin willing to move in indicates his apples are growing well, and since Applin’s appetite is very small, unless they become extremely numerous, they pose minimal harm to the Apple Garden.

As for whether the Applin will breed in large numbers and create an overpopulation issue in the future…

Naoki thought perhaps that could be dealt with down the line!

At worst, he could later call upon the novice Trainers coming to challenge the ranch to capture the Applin.

After checking the Apple Garden, Naoki went to the Wooloo Ranch to check on the Wooloo.

The Wooloo were leisurely lounging on a hillside, basking in the sun and nibbling on pasture grass.

Just watching them makes one feel a burst of ecstasy, even improving one’s mood.

Naoki stayed there for a while, soon hearing Lono’s call.

“Dinner time!”

Naoki stood up, smilingly said to Koraidon:

“Let’s go, time to head back!”

“Arghiss!” Koraidon immediately rose and followed along.

One person and one Pokémon returned home to find his sister Indeedee had already laid the dishes on the table.

The table was packed with dishes, looking really sumptuous.

Lono grinned and said: “How does it look? My sister and I prepared it together!”

“Indeedee~” The sister Indeedee cheerfully nodded in agreement.

Steamed Sea Bass, pan-fried meat steak, Mapo tofu, cold cucumber salad, shrimp steamed eggs… The spread looked quite lavish, and Naoki didn’t hesitate in giving a thumbs up: “Amazing!”

“Hehe, who do you think I am! Quickly call everyone back to eat! I even prepared special lamb milk treats for Pawmot and Eevee!”

As Lono spoke, suddenly her expression changed, a wave of nausea rose within her, and she instinctively covered her mouth.

“Arghiss?”

Koraidon and the Bellibolt, waiting for the meal, immediately looked over.

Hmm? Noticing this scene, Naoki furrowed his brow and quickly approached Lono, patting her back:

“What’s wrong? Feeling unwell? Were you overworking this morning? Next time, leave everything to me.”

After a while, the feeling subsided somewhat, but Lono seemed a bit listless.

“I don’t know what’s been going on with me lately…”

Hearing this, Koraidon seemed to understand something, suddenly enlightened, its gaze shifting to Naoki’s abdomen: “Arghiss!”

With this call, the surrounding Pokémon also looked over.

Cyclizar, the sister Indeedee, Sylveon, Pawmot…

“Hmm?” Lono looked confused: “What’s wrong with my belly?”

Faced with this, Naoki was stunned, and an unbelievable thought popped into his head.

Could it be…?!

Their eyes met, and Lono magically understood Naoki’s meaning.

Nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite… Could she be pregnant with a baby?

“Could it be true?” Lono felt as if she were in a dream.

“Not sure, let’s finish eating then check at the hospital,” Naoki forced himself to stay calm, helping Lono sit: “Feeling better now? Check if there’s something you want to eat; if not, I’ll make something special just for you.”

“Haha!” Lono chuckled foolishly: “I want to eat that boiled fish you make!”

“Wait here, I’ll make it right away.” Naoki looked at Pawmot and Koraidon, saying: “You all start eating, don’t wait for me!”

He hurried to the kitchen and took out the fish purchased from Porto Marinada Market in the morning, starting to cook.
