Not Being a Trainer This Time

Hmm? There’s a doctor researching this? It never appeared in the anime?

”I’ve never heard of this kind of machine outside before,” Naoki stated truthfully.

”Oh, of course!” Professor Kuroki grinned sheepishly, ”To be honest, these devices are my own creations.”

”Talking more doesn’t beat seeing for yourself!” Professor Kuroki whistled, and soon, a group of Pikachu from the Kanto Region came running from outside.

”Everyone, lend a hand!” Professor Kuroki exclaimed.

In the next moment, Naoki saw those Pikachu jump onto a machine and start using Electric Type moves.

The Thunder Shock they released was channeled through pipes, supplying power to various machines in the lab.

In the blink of an eye, the machines lit up with the glow of activation.

”Because the electric energy required to run the machines is enormous, relying on the town’s electricity would cause Porto Marinada Town’s power system to collapse, so I had to have my Pikachu help generate electricity,” Professor Kuroki explained.

Naoki: ”...” The scientists in the Pokemon World can truly create amazing technologies with their hands.

”Come out! My partner!” Professor Kuroki took out a Poke Ball from his waist.

With a flash of white light, a Beedrill appeared in the research facility.

”Beedrill, I’ll need you to enter this machine next!” Professor Kuroki instructed.

Beedrill flapped its wings, nodded calmly, and flew into the device designed to measure power.

In the next moment, the device activated automatically, and beams of red light began to meticulously scan Beedrill’s body.

Moments later, the scan was complete, the data was uploaded to the computer, and Beedrill then went into the machine meant to measure speed.

After repeating the process a few times, Beedrill’s body data appeared fully on the computer.

Professor Kuroki sat before the computer, pointing at the progress bars on the screen:

”See? Based on different Pokemon abilities, I’ve categorized them into six major types.”

”They are Stamina, Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed!”

”I’ve done a lot of research before, collected data from nearly a hundred Pokemon of the same species, got an average value, and regarded it as the standard, that line right there.”

Professor Kuroki pointed at the line in the center of the progress bars on the screen.

”If it doesn’t reach that line, it means the Pokemon’s physical quality is poor, malnourished. If it exceeds that line, it means the Pokemon has been well nurtured.”

”Of course, even if a Pokemon is born malnourished, with professional nurturing later on, it can also become an excellent Pokemon.”

Hearing this, Naoki was slightly stunned.

Isn’t this the individual values from the game?

”Look, my Beedrill has reached the standard line, indicating it is a healthy Beedrill,” Professor Kuroki said.

Naoki nodded, then glanced at Koraidon and asked, ”Can my Pokemon be checked too?”

But Professor Kuroki, feeling quite embarrassed, said, ”Sorry, I’m not familiar with this Pokemon, and I haven’t collected its data. I can’t make a comparison.”

Naoki wasn’t surprised by this.

He thought for a moment and asked, ”What about Cyclizar?”

”Cyclizar? The famous transportation Pokemon from the Paldea Region?” Professor Kuroki nodded, ”Coincidentally, I just collected Cyclizar’s standard data the day before yesterday.”

”That’s good, I’d like you to check the health status of my Cyclizar,” Naoki said.

”Certainly!” Professor Kuroki beamed.

Naoki took out Cyclizar’s Poke Ball, and with a flash of white light, Cyclizar’s silhouette appeared in the lab.

It looked around, puzzled, then glanced at Naoki.

Naoki gestured to reassure it, wanting to check its health condition.

”It’s okay, Little Cyclizar, come over here!” Professor Kuroki guided.

With Naoki’s nod of approval, Cyclizar then entered those machines.

Five minutes later, Cyclizar’s body data appeared on the computer screen.

”Let me see...” said Professor Kuroki, but when he saw Cyclizar’s data clearly on the screen, his eyes instantly widened.

On the screen, the data representing strength far exceeded the average data for Cyclizar-type Pokemon by a significant margin.

Stamina, speed, physical defense all reached a very exaggerated level, almost off the charts!

”What, what is going on?!” Professor Kuroki exclaimed in shock.

This Cyclizar, is it even a Cyclizar anymore?!
