Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 1233: Chapter 566: The Legendary Beasts Are Shocked—The Person Chosen by Ho-oh?! (Part 2)

In the span of a moment, time had reached seven in the evening.

After dinner, the Pokemon were playing in the living room, while the couple started to unwrap the gifts given by guests on their wedding day.

The customs of the Pokemon World differed from those of Naoki’s previous life; here, wedding guests didn’t need to give money, but they brought carefully prepared gifts for the newlyweds.

Steven gifted a pair of exquisite gemstone bracelets, precious yet not ostentatious, embodying the elegance of elite society.

Professor Oak gave two uniquely designed handcrafted Poke Balls, adorned with flowers symbolizing celebration and blessings, fitting his age.

Alder sent some toys and gifts for children, accompanied by a note.

The note read: For your future baby!

Naoki: “…”

Lono couldn’t help but be curious: “You know many Champions!”

“Actually, it’s not that many,” Naoki recollected his encounters with these Champions, explaining: “I helped Alder revive his Volcarona, and since then, we’ve been friends.”

“Cynthia approached me because of matters concerning Giratina and Arceus, looking to understand those ancient myths.”

“As for Steven… I think you can guess,” Naoki looked at Lono.

And Lono instantly understood Naoki’s implication: “You helped stop the conflict between Groudon and Kyogre in the Hoenn Region, and Steven is very grateful?”

“Yeah!” Naoki nodded: “Actually, I know a lot of people. Students from the Paldea Region, Trainers traveling from other regions, passing tourists, music performers who love to entertain; they all have visited the ranch.”

Over the years, he had met many people and experienced many events.

Lono listened quietly, occasionally showing a smile, while Cyclizar and Pawmo were drawn over to hear Naoki recounting his past experiences.

In the end, Naoki left the remaining gifts unopened, and instead, sat on the sofa with Lono and the Pokemon, turned off the lights, and started watching a horror movie starring Ghost-type Pokemon.

The movie depicted a story of an ancient castle lord and a group of Ghost-type Pokemon living in the Haunted Castle. Later, after the lord passed away, the Pokemon stayed, guarding the place where their master once lived.

Decades later, a group of adventure-loving young people broke into the sealed ancient castle to explore…

On the screen, those Ghost-type Pokemon were comically adorable, with a few Gengars and Haunters living in the castle making faces to scare the humans exploring the castle.

The Pokemon were frightened and huddled closer to Naoki, yet Naoki didn’t find it scary at all, thinking that those big purple fellows were quite cute.

His attention shifted from the movie to reality.

Looking at Lono and Koraidon beside him, with his favorite Pokemon and people by his side, Naoki felt as if he were immersed in a sea of happiness.

At the same time, faraway in the Johto Region, at the peak of Mount Tensei.

Entei, Lei Gong, and Suicune stood above the cliff, gazing at the distant sky.

The fierce north wind at the peak ruffled their manes, with the Legendary Beasts looking at each other with puzzlement and seriousness, their expressions revealing solemnity and confusion.

A moment later, Entei, with an imposing demeanor, couldn’t help but speak.

“What exactly is the matter that Ho-oh summoned us here for?”

Suicune, gentle in temperament, softly shook its head: “I don’t know either, there haven’t been any unusual events recently.”

Lei Gong stared deeply at the small stones on the ground, pondering heavily, it said solemnly: “Could something major have occurred in the human world?”

At this, Entei and Suicune immediately turned their attention towards it.

In that moment, the minds of the Legendary Beasts were filled with memories of a few hundred years ago when war swept through the human world, setting fire to the Bell Tower where Ho-oh resided.

“If that’s truly the case, this world would be plunged into turmoil once more, with countless Pokemon suffering and losing their homes!” Entei furrowed its brow, looking more solemn than ever.

Suicune’s expression turned cold as well, resembling the biting north wind, its face icy, though it remained silent.

However, Lei Gong spoke: “Humans are inherently untrustworthy beings!”

From the shadows, Marshadow, the fourth member of Ho-oh’s guards, stepped on darkness, its gaze mysteriously settled on the three Pokemon before it.

Entei noticed it and couldn’t help but turn around to inquire: “What is your opinion?”

Suicune and Lei Gong turned together to look at Marshadow.

Marshadow remained silent, not responding, thinking that the three large fellows were thinking too much, for what it sensed was that Ho-oh wasn’t harboring any anger.

Thus, Marshadow sank into the shadows, deciding not to partake in their discussions.

The Legendary Beasts: “…”

Just then, a crisp cry echoed from the distant sky.

Ho-oh had arrived!

At the sound, the Legendary Beasts shivered and quickly turned to look in the direction the sound came from.

There, a dazzling rainbow spanned the entire sky, at the end of the rainbow, a sacred and beautiful Pokemon was flying toward the mountain top.

Ho-oh!

The Legendary Beasts quickly adjusted their postures, respectfully welcoming Ho-oh’s arrival.

As Ho-oh landed, the Legendary Beasts looked up at Ho-oh perched on a large rock.
