Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 1230: Chapter 565: Specialties of the Mystery Dungeon (Part 2)

This incident was likely due to the difficulty of finding food in the wild during winter, causing those Pokemon to suffer hunger and cold throughout the season, and they became desperate.

After some time, this situation will disappear.

By then, Berries will grow in the forest, and those Pokemon won’t come to the ranch.

We all live on this land, and we should help each other when we can.

“Ar-ghhh～”

After fixing the fence, Naoki grabbed the tools and prepared to go home.

But when he passed the farm fields and saw a large patch of mature crops, he was utterly bewildered.

Wait! Who did this?

Just planted and it’s already matured, maturity means it must be harvested, otherwise it will spoil and rot on the ground over time…

If this cycle continues, he’ll be worked to death.

There are several Pokemon on the ranch capable of accelerating crop maturity, but when Naoki looked at the crops in the field, he immediately knew who was helping.

[Tomatoes cultivated by Gogoat, nurtured with abundant Power of Grass, fully matured.]

Naoki: “…”

He remembered he told Gogoat last time not to use their full power when cultivating crops, just a little Power of Grass was enough to help crops grow healthily.

They’re not tireless NPCs in a game, planting crops and instantly harvesting, never having a moment’s rest.

Thinking of this, Naoki specifically found Gogoat and explained the situation to them.

After hearing this, Gogoat was puzzled: “Bleh-ah?”

Doesn’t instant growth help crops? This way, Naoki can harvest and sell them to make money?

“Because living like that is too hurried!” Naoki explained: “Imagine if I plant seeds in the morning, then you make them grow, and I must harvest them in the afternoon, repeating the cycle every day.”

Day after day, year after year.

The image of Naoki tirelessly working in the farm fields all year long without any rest appeared in Gogoat’s mind.

“Bleh-ah…that’s terrifying!”

“That’s why life should be enjoyed slowly, and we don’t lack money!” Naoki smiled and patted Gogoat’s head.

“Bleh-ah!” Gogoat nodded obediently, showing they understood.

“Good, go play then!”

Naoki turned to check the growth of crops in the field when the Arceus suddenly rang at his waist.

His intuition told him, Mew and Teddiursa had new updates!

Since the time they entered the Mystery Dungeon during New Year, those two Pokemon hadn’t returned, Naoki occasionally saw their experiences and updates on the Arceus Phone.

Opening the Arceus Phone, its screen popped up the latest adventures of the Heroic Expedition Team.

[Your Pokemon Mew and Teddiursa discovered the Illusory Grotto!]

[Mew and Teddiursa entered the welcoming grotto, after some exploration, discovered a lot of “Reviver Seeds!”]

[Remembering your fondness for cultivating seeds to nurture crops, Mew and Teddiursa decided to bring back these Reviver Seeds as a gift for you!]

[Mew and Teddiursa got lost when leaving, accidentally entering a detour!]

[Mew and Teddiursa discovered a hidden location! Found a large number of “Joy Seeds” and “Doom Seeds” here!]

[Mew and Teddiursa took all the “Joy Seeds!” ]

[Mew and Teddiursa encountered a powerful Steelix!]

[Mew and Teddiursa defeated the Steelix, discovered the Land of Gold it guarded, and found treasures “Golden Seeds” within!]

The updates stopped for now, seeming like Mew and Teddiursa had paused their actions.

Naoki stared at the updates, slightly dazed.

Reviver Seeds, Joy Seeds, Golden Seeds…

These seem to be specialties of the Rescue Team World?

Luckily, the Arceus Phone has a feature to view item details.

To confirm, Naoki quickly tapped on those seeds.

A second later, the seed information appeared flickering on the screen.

[Reviver Seed: When consumed, will restore all energy and vitality of a Pokemon, upon planting will grow special crops like “Revival Herb.”]

[Joy Seed: A seed filled with magical power; when Pokemon consumes it, level increases by 1, cannot be planted.]

[Doom Seed: Inherits unfortunate power; when Pokemon eats it, level decreases by 1, cannot be planted.]

[Golden Seed: A worldly treasure akin to Gold; when Pokemon eats it, significantly boosts strength, level increases by 5, cannot be planted.]

“As expected, they’re specialties of the Rescue Team World…” gazing at the seeds with their extraordinary effects, Naoki couldn’t help but murmur.

If there were a hundred Joy Seeds, wouldn’t it be possible to instantly raise a Pokemon to level 100?

Leveling…there is no concept of levels in the world he lives in, but it’s not hard to understand.

Levels are essentially the strength of Pokemon, and in this world, levels are increased through battle, special training, and honing their skills; when a Pokemon progresses, it’s as if their level has increased.

Those seeds for a Pokemon may seem like the legendary resources in fantasy novels that can enhance strength.

Naoki was excited, seeing that Mew and Teddiursa collected seeds because he enjoys cultivating crops and planned to bring them back as gifts for him!

It’s a pity that the latter kinds of seeds cannot be planted, otherwise he could grow a bunch of Joy Seeds and Golden Seeds, and feed all the Pokemon on the ranch to lv100.

But it’s already quite good now; just one Golden Seed can greatly enhance a Pokemon on the ranch.

Looking at it this way, working for Arceus isn’t without benefits!

“Maybe I can let everyone from the Explorer Team Guild enter the world where Mew and Teddiursa are currently, and search for seeds in that maze.” Naoki pondered slightly, then calmly analyzed.

The ranch here is peaceful and stable, and they don’t usually battle Pokemon here, so ultimately, whether they have these seeds or not doesn’t matter.

But it’s different for the Pokemon on the World Tree.

Because those Pokemon can eat them too, and Joy Seeds can greatly boost their strength, allowing them to explore worlds of higher difficulty.

Dozens or hundreds of lv100 Pokemon going in together; not just Team Rocket, even Team Rainbow Rocket would be defeated utterly.

After the excitement, Naoki quickly calmed down again.

Because even if he goes to talk to the Pokemon on the World Tree now, they probably won’t understand.

Everything has to wait until Mew and Teddiursa return, then showcase the seeds to them. This way, everyone in the explorer team can collect those seeds during their adventures.

Naoki put away the Rotom Phone, then went to the farm to check the crops.

“Hmm, although they are mature, they’re not fully ripe yet. Oh well, let’s harvest them tomorrow!” Naoki decided to be a bit lazy.

*

After lunch, Lono continued to go to work at the Gym, while Naoki stayed at home and began special training for Sylveon.

As for the current Pokemon on the ranch, Sylveon, who dreams of defeating the “Evil Dragon,” is well-suited to use the Joy Seeds.

But its current strength is too weak, and using the seeds too early would be a waste, since the more a Pokemon grows later, the slower it becomes.

In gaming terms, the higher the level, the more experience needed to level up.

“Before we officially start, I want to ask you one last time. That [Evil Dragon] you mentioned is very powerful, and to defeat it, you must go through countless special training, which is tough. You’ll not only get injured but also get dirty.”

Naoki looked at Sylveon, asking, “Are you sure you want to start?”

Sylveon didn’t hesitate at all: “Vee!”

That’s right, no matter how many hardships it goes through, it won’t give up, because it also wants to be a powerful Pokemon like Koraidon and Pawmot, defeat the Evil Dragon, and become a big hero!

Sylveon’s fighting spirit was high.

Naoki then looked at the other watching Eevees: “How about you all?”

The Water, Fire, and Electric brothers were lazy, thinking battles are tough, and they get injured. They prefer playing together over such things.

Leafeon and Espeon don’t like battles; one enjoys quietly taking care of crops, the other likes sunbathing.

Glaceon and Umbreon, as the two older Eevees, are past Sylveon’s age and just want to live well.

As for the Partner Eevee… Partner Eevee feels that having an ultimate move “Extreme Evoboost” is sufficient.

When Sylveon becomes stronger, it can also borrow more power from it!

Rounding it up, Sylveon’s strength equals its strength, Partner Eevee thought.

“Vee!” So, do your best, Sylveon!
