I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1403 19.62 Second Red Star - Cid Warlockʼs Decision

The news of the Beast Raceʼs invasion of the Federation Star had reached the Hive. The Zerg King Cid Warlock and the other halflings felt their hearts disturbed when this news reached them. The human race had abandoned them and the federation had betrayed them. Even the fact that the Federation Star used to be their home cannot be forgotten.

That is the planet where they were all born and their attachment to it might be less than that of the Hive Star. However, they couldnʼt help but still feel pity for the former star they used to live in.

”The Beast Race had finally attacked the Human Race,” reported Lucas to everyone in the throne hall.

Kian said, ”I wanted to say that I donʼt care even if the human race perishes, but... I donʼt know why I am feeling melancholy about this.”

”It is normal. That is the planet we are born into, but also the planet that abandoned us,” Roan said.

Solan looked at their Zerg King, Cid Warlock, who hasnʼt spoken a word since learning about the situation on the Federation Star.

They could see Colonel Cyril Bailey and Marquess Conrad Silver peering at Cid Warlock not too far away. They have never publicly expressed their opinions on matters that are exclusive to the royal family, despite the fact that the two of them are stronger than him.

The Zerg Emperor and Zerg Empress assigned them the responsibility of advising Cid Warlock, although Cid Warlock made the majority of the decision.

Since Cid Warlock is the crowned Zerg King of the Zerg Race, they delegated all decision-making authority to him in this scenario involving the entire race and another race. The Zerg Emperor and the Zerg Empress are the only people who may disagree with his choice, but they have avoided politics ever since he assumed the throne as King.

Zerg King Cid Warlock asked his Marquess Silver and Colonel Bailey. ”Teachers, if I truly wanted to get involved with this issue, would you stop me?”

”Your Majesty, we are only here to guide and help you protect the Hive. Aside from that, we will not get involved with things that pertain to the throne. All decisions are yours to make,” Marquess Silver stated.

Cid Warlock asked, ”Then is it possible for me to hear your opinion, at least for this issue? If I wanted to help the Federation Star, would it be possible?”

”The answer to that question is undefined. The result will depend on his majestyʼs decision. My advice is that before your majesty plans to help the Federation, you should gather the alliance first. Convince the officials and nobles by providing them a reason to accept. List down all merits for saving the Federation Star and say the clear advantage of personally making a move.

But never forget that his majesty is now the king of the hive and your priority shall always be for the better good of the hive,” Colonel Cyril Bailey suggested.

Cid Warlock and the Zerg King, together with his closest allies, were in disbelief. They believed that these two, following Cid Warlock, would be the most senior officers and would oppose salvaging the Federation Star. However, Colonel Bailey believes that aiding humanity is a good concept. They were perplexed as to how they were able to say these things and felt like anomalies in this world.

Solan asked, ”You are truly okay with the idea of us helping the human race? Donʼt the Zerg race hate all humans?”

”No. Hate is an emotion given to those who are closely involved with you. Our decisions all lie with the words of the Emperor and the Empress, and this is above all well-being in existence,” Marquess Silver said.

Colonel Bailey added, ”As long as the Hive isnʼt destroyed, we wonʼt be personally getting involved with this situation. So, just do what you wish to do as a king and the leader of the Hive.”

”Thank you. I will do my best to keep the hive safe no matter what,” Cid Warlock finally decided after hearing the opinions of the two beings that serve the Zerg Emperor and Zerg Empress.

Colonel Cyril Bailey and Marquess Conrad Silver have distinct positions. They held a position of authority themselves, thus they did not need to bow down to the kings and queens. Cid Warlock and them vary primarily in that the former is the heir apparent, while the latter works directly for the Zerg Emperor and Zerg Empress. These pairings are beyond even Zerg King Cid Warlockʼs ability to control.

He is free to ask for assistance, but the couple must decide whether to accept it.

He was relieved to hear that they would not interfere with his choice regarding the Federation Star. To save the human species, Cid Warlock now just needs to persuade his bureaucrats and ministers to support his proposition. The people responsible for the tragedy involving the two races have long since passed away. After the Zerg Race defeated the humans in the previous war, they had all perished.

Additionally, it marked the start of the human raceʼs decline. Because they believed they had nothing left to steal, the Zerg Race refrained from invading the Federation Star.

In the throne hall that afternoon. The leaders of the alliance, the nobility, and military personnel were called to order once more. The current Zerg King Cid Warlock is in charge of this conference. Saving the Federation Star was the Zerg Kingʼs suggestion. It is to be expected that there is far more opposition than there should be.

Fortunately, Cid Warlock had prepared this meeting well, providing them with a list of benefits and reasons to save humanity.

Although the Zerg race was essentially opposed to this, several alliance leaders have made an exception for it. Regarding the cause, it appears that a portion of their population were married to humans, and those individuals desired, if nothing else, to assist their partners in saving their home planet.

Additionally, the Beast Race, their allianceʼs principal adversary at the moment, is one of their opponents. Agreed were many who want an early end to the war.

Fighting aboard the Federation Star is, at least, preferable to letting the conflict impact their home worlds. After all, nobody wanted the protracted conflict to have an impact on the natural resources of their own planet. Many of the attendees agreed to this suggestion because assisting the human species would entail fighting on the Federation Star.

The debate on this issue lasted for three days. Only after three days did the nobles and military in the Hive somehow agree to help the humans. It might be against their hearts, but thinking about the children and how the human race will owe them made the Zergs feel that itʼs acceptable. Three days later, the Zerg King, Cid Warlock, announced this issue to the Hive.

Remarkably, fewer unanticipated riots occur than Cid Warlock and his associates had anticipated. After they looked into it, several halflings in the major city also believed that by saving the human race, they would owe the Zerg race something, which would reduce the likelihood of a war between the two races. If they could prevent it, who in their right mind would start a war?

On the seventh day, when all preparations were done, with Cid Warlock leading the fleet, they headed to the Federation Star to join the war. As for Marquess Silver, he stayed in the hive to guard their planet. But Colonel Bailey joined Cid Warlock because they couldnʼt allow the protagonist of their planet to die.

If something happened to Cid Warlock, it would be hard for them to leave the hive when the time came.

---

The Ice Elemental Penguin was somewhat off in his judgment. On the sixth day, the Beast Race had launched the first invasion on the Federation Star. The Beast Race arrived to the planet where humans dwelled after only a few days of preparation for those who reside on the Federation Star.

Since most beastmen had thick fur covering them, the bitter cold and never-ending winter had no effect on their constitution.

What affected them the most was the change in terrain. The last delegation the beast race sent to the federation was when the three old marshals were still alive, and that was countless years ago. It also happened before the Frozen Apocalypse struck the planet.

The map they have with them is hardly useful due to the amount of snow and how frozen every waterscape is. Furthermore, many villages and cities had long since vanished as the apocalypse started. Because of the frequent blizzards and hailstorms that the surface has experienced, maps are therefore the most worthless tool available. The Federation Star was no longer under human control.

Now all remaining humans had taken to hiding underground, and elementals created during the Frozen Apocalypse ruled over it.

A few spaceships had landed somewhere along the eastern coast, and beastmen emerged from them. Beast King Leonhart was the first to go down among these beastmen. For a considerable amount of time, the eastern sea had been frozen, at least on the surface. They eventually enter the region blanketed in a thick layer of pure white snow, with Leonhart leading his race.

When the Beast King Leonhart turned to look around, he beheld a vast expanse of white landscape. There were a few gaps in the thick blanket of white that nature had left on the ground as a result of their weight squashing the cold snow beneath their feet.

”There is barely any scent left on this planet. Only the scent of the snow lingers strongly in this place. Our sense of smell wonʼt be useful on this planet. Use your other senses to find presence on this land,” Leonhart, the King of the Beast, commanded.

Insight is another sense of presence that the Beast Race possessed. It can detect changes in body temperature, heartbeats, and even the faint sound of breathing. After all, breathing is a must for survival. For the time being, the dense terrain keeps these beastmen from seeing humans below ground. It is not the same for the elementals that dwell on the surface.

It is to be expected that the first creatures these beastmen find with their insight are the underwater water elementals. There are hundreds of times more water elementals in bodies of water than there are on land. The beastmen were all shocked as they felt the presence beneath their feet. They are being stared at by at least a thousand pairs of eyes in the water.

But for some reason, they arenʼt interested in those under the seas, as they didnʼt find someone worthy enough to fight under the sea. The Ice Elemental Octopus King is dead; if he werenʼt gone, these beastmen would have stayed in this region to fight until they killed the Octopus King.

The beastmen, whose insight was active, said:

”Wow! Thereʼs a lot of them, but most are weaklings.”

”Should we kill them all? I donʼt feel any interest in me, though.”

”No need. Leave them be. I found a strong one at the ice forest not too far from here. You can enjoy as much as you can there,” King Leonhart said.

”Hahaha~ what are we waiting for? Letʼs go!”

At last, the Beastmen move from the east toward the north. They strolled slowly but unencumbered on the frozen terrain. A group of enormous animals, led by a black lion, make their way through the intense snowfall to the initial site of their battleground. They are unstoppable in their search for adversaries who will make their blood boil.

It was as though they had been tasked with wreaking havoc everywhere since the day the Beast Race consumed something they shouldnʼt have.
