Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 399: Chapter 348: Unity of Knowledge and Action

Inside the Pillarless Banquet Hall.

One to two thousand journalists, hundreds of staff on site, and a dozen big shots in the backstage including Liu Jiren, were all utterly stunned in an instant.

No one expected it to turn out like this!

Publicly admitting to being a progenitor?

With no attempt to conceal it at all?

Initially, everyone saw Lu Li standing on the stage, speaking in a tone that seemed ethereal, almost leaning towards denial; everyone thought he was going to deny it, and it was understandable.

After all, admitting such a thing would cause a huge shock globally, and it wouldn’t be a good choice for either Lu Li himself or for Huaxia.

Yet now!

But at this moment!

Lu Li, in front of one to two thousand journalists, blatantly admitted his identity!

This left all the journalists, on-site staff, and the backstage big shots dumbfounded, not knowing why Lu Li did this.

Everyone was stunned!

”Oh my God!”

”What is Mr. Lu doing?”

”Oh no, how did he just admit it? Now all the things that happened in Mexico, Old Ugly, and Africa will be blamed on us; isn’t it a bit reckless for Mr. Lu to admit it like this?”

”Reckless, my ass! If I had such abilities as progenitor humans, I’d be a hundred times more arrogant than him!”

”Actually, it’s quite natural for Mr. Lu to admit he’s a progenitor human. After all, things have reached this point where every country is shrouded in the shadow of progenitor humans. Everyone is anxious about offending them unintentionally, leading to national calamity. If things continue like this, it would only make countries more oppressive. Mr. Lu admitting he is a progenitor human relieves the global tension. Now, people just need to know not to mess with him instead of living in constant fear. Besides, the strength displayed by progenitor humans far exceeds the current technological limits on Earth, so he is not afraid of anyone retaliating. If I were him, I would also admit it to prevent more fools from provoking and angering me unknowingly.”

”Oh my God! My God! This is explosive news!”

”Hahaha, it wasn’t a wasted trip after all. Initially, when I heard Mr. Lu speaking official jargon, I thought he was going to deny it, thinking we were just here to help clarify his identity. But who knew he admitted it directly in front of us? I can’t help but admire Mr. Lu’s courage, daring to go against the world. Honestly, if I were him, even with such powerful abilities, I wouldn’t dare to admit it, as it requires enormous courage to go against the entire world. My fear of him has turned into admiration!”

”Jeez, is this really okay?”

”What’s not okay? Who can do anything to him?”

”Sigh, Mr. Lu admitting it feels good, but some people will have a headache.”

”Haha, some people having a headache is inevitable, but it’s fine as long as Mr. Lu feels good. Why care about others? If he really cared about others all the time, he wouldn’t have done such earth-shattering things in Mexico, Old Ugly, and Africa.”

”Breaking news! Breaking news! This is really big fun now!”

The journalists clamored in frenzy, with various analyses filling the air.

Some took the opportunity to express their true opinions about Lu Li.

Admiration.

Incomprehension.

Excitement.

Every kind of emotion was present.

Without exception, everyone knew that once Lu Li’s admission of being a progenitor was published, it would be incredibly sensational!

...

Backstage.

Gu Wei, Liu Jiren, and others were dumbfounded on the spot.

Before the press conference started.

Lu Li had promised them not to reveal his identity.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that things were under control this time.

The scene before them nearly made Liu Jiren cough up blood.

Or to put it another way, except for Gu Wei, who had a complex look in his eyes and could accept it, the faces of the other dozen or so big shots suddenly turned grim!

”Mr. Lu...”

”Sigh, why did he admit it?”

”It’s not time to admit it yet, we could have delayed it further.”

”What do we do now? Mr. Lu admitted he’s a progenitor, we have to take action.”

”Quick, have people lock down the site, no media journalist, domestic or foreign, is allowed to leave. Let’s report upwards first, get instructions, and then act!”

”That’s the only way.”

”We are completely unprepared, we can’t just go public with this.”

”Yes, at least give us some preparation time. Mr. Lu... well, anyway, since he admitted to being a progenitor with so many media journalists here now, including many foreign resident journalists, it is bound to be made public. The only question is how much time we have to deal with this situation. Mr. Lu really caught us off guard.”

Liu Jiren and the others did not reveal any anger in their tone.

Or rather, they were angry but dare not speak out.

Previously, Lu Li promised them not to disclose his real identity, but once on the interview stage, he reneged, making Liu Jiren and the others furious.

Of course, anger aside, they all knew how terrifying Lu Li’s power was and didn’t dare show any displeasure verbally, only discussing how to urgently handle this big news.

...

On the interview stage.

Lu Li stood in front of the standing microphone, calmly looking at the clamoring journalists below.

He certainly knew the immense impact of admitting to being a progenitor.

Also aware of the headaches it might cause for Gu Wei, Liu Jiren, and others once reported.

Indeed, initially, he considered various aspects.

For example, not wanting family and friends to be stalked and photographed by the media because of him.

Or, for instance, Gu Wei has been good to him, and he doesn’t want to cause him trouble.

There are also other factors.

Therefore, he agreed not to reveal his identity.

So why did Lu Li admit to being an Ancestor in the final critical moment?

The reason is simple: as he stood there just now, looking at one or two thousand reporters, countless video cameras, and cameras, when he tried to speak against his conscience, the oppressive feeling seemingly descending from deep within his soul grew heavier, making it truly hard for him to breathe.

Lu Li immediately realized something.

That is, if he truly went against his heart and denied his identity as an Ancestor, it could likely cause significant issues in his evolution.

So he had to face the issue head-on, rather than continue to avoid it.

Sure enough, from the moment he decided to reveal his identity, he felt the shackles deep within his soul completely opened.

This time, it wasn’t a genetic unlocking.

Nor was it mental unlocking.

But rather breaking the shackles of the mundane!

Giving himself the courage to face the world without any more concealment or avoidance!

In the past, he was constrained by various worldly laws and rationales, ensuring that he had to think things through thoroughly.

For example, the consequences of an action, how much trouble it would bring to those around him, and so on.

This kept him constantly suppressing himself, unable to achieve complete liberation of his ”nature”.

At this moment, worldly rationales and laws were all shattered by him!

Just like written in ”The Journey to the West”: I want this sky to cover my eyes no more, this earth to not bury my heart, to let all beings understand my will, to let the myriad Buddhas vanish into smoke!

Lu Li finally understood the meaning of the phrase in ”Journey to the West”, ”Break the stubborn void, one must comprehend the void”.

At this moment, he had already reached a state that transcended or overcame all ignorance, insensitivity, thoughtlessness, and inaction—a higher level of cognition and understanding.

If explained through philosophical thought, it would be Wang Yangming’s unity of knowledge and action!

Uncertain if he had completely shaken off all repression and constraints of the world.

At this moment, as Lu Li felt a clear and lively sensation, he sensed energy surging within him.

His body seemed to be rapidly evolving, making him continuously grow stronger.

The speed of absorbing external energy also gradually became faster.

If anyone was observant, they would definitely notice small ”whirlwinds” nearly visible to the naked eye appearing beside Lu Li.

And these ”whirlwinds” were actually the result of Lu Li accelerating his energy absorption.

In short, these ”whirlwinds” were aggregations of various free energies.

Because there were so many of them, and because Lu Li absorbed energy incredibly fast, such a scene formed around him.

Imagine, even seeing the absorption of free energy with the naked eye indicates just how enormous the speed and amount of absorption must be!

Lu Li had a strong premonition that the speed at which he absorbed free energy from the outside world had not yet reached its peak.

As time goes by, his body would become stronger, and the speed of energy absorption would also become more astonishing than now.

Even to the extent of suddenly depleting all surrounding energy.

Whether it’s nitrogen, oxygen, carbon in the air, or other light radiation, everything would be absorbed by him!

As if, in the next second, he would turn into a black hole!

Yes, Lu Li clearly felt that he would soon become a black hole, continuously absorbing all elements and light radiation in the surrounding air!

Moreover, he also sensed that even without exerting a biological force field or domain, gravity seemed unable to pull him anymore.

He had a transcendent feeling, one of wanting to ride the wind and fly away.

”Could it be...”

Lu Li was astonished, ”Am I going to ascend in broad daylight?”

The term ”ascend in broad daylight” comes from Daoism.

It generally refers to one’s cultivation realm reaching a profound level, poised to ascend to the Immortal Realm Celestial Court, truly attaining immortality.

Lu Li knew clearly that it was the unlocking of genes that caused his body to ”evolve”, not the traditional sense of cultivating immortality.

He also understood that beyond the atmosphere was the vast, boundless Cosmic Space, not an Immortal Realm Celestial Court.

Therefore, when the premonition of impending ”ascent in daylight” arose in his heart, even Lu Li found it a bit odd.

However, he knew he was already in the midst of a fifth deep evolution, and this feeling was unlikely to be an illusion.

Which means, if he stayed here a little longer, and if his body became slightly stronger, he would indeed ”ascend in broad daylight”.

Lu Li became curious about where he would ascend if he were to ”ascend in broad daylight”.

At this thought, he knew his time here might be running out.

Lu Li tapped the interview table, softly but seriously saying, ”Please everyone be quiet for a moment, I have something to say.”

The reporters, who had been clamoring, the staff who were all shocked, and a dozen or so dignitaries backstage like Liu Jiren, all quickly quieted down, looking towards Lu Li’s face, wanting to know what he wanted to say.

Lu Li looked at the cameras and said slowly, ”After at most half an hour, I might ’ascend in broad daylight’, so I’m here to explain some situations to you and answer some of your questions, hoping you cherish the time.”

Ah?

Ascend in broad daylight?

Upon hearing this, everyone was dumbfounded!
