Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 369: Chapter 325: Let Me Play Along With You

In the command center.

George, along with the consortium magnates, were all shocked to the point of being unable to contain themselves, each one staring wide-eyed!

”Oh my God!”

”What... what is that thing?”

”With just a breath in and out, he instantly unleashed a torrent of freezing breath, turning all the drones into ice sculptures and then destroyed them?”

”How is this possible? He’s in the Sahara Desert, and it’s daytime now, with temperatures reaching several tens of degrees, yet he can still emit such a terrifying freezing breath?”

”These miniature aerial attack drones cost 1.4 million US Dollars each, and we dispatched fifty of them, only for him to annihilate them all at once? We’ve lost seventy million dollars!”

”Losing seventy million dollars isn’t what’s frightening; what’s frightening is that the fifty aerial attack drones had no effect whatsoever!”

George and Steven Rockefeller III, among other top brass, remained tight-lipped with stoic expressions, but everyone else was in an uproar.

It’s hard not to be in an uproar.

They previously thought they understood the ancestral being’s fighting style well enough.

Believing it impossible for him to suddenly destroy the miniature aerial attack drones striking from all directions.

They assumed that to destroy each one, he would have to move away from the Morgan Clan members’ side.

Then, as long as one aerial attack drone succeeded in a surprise attack, it could kill those Morgan Clan members.

But who would have thought that the ancestral being needed only to move his mouth, spewing forth a torrent of freezing breath, obliterating the fifty miniature aerial attack drones!

This is undeniably terrifying!

The group clamored for a moment before falling silent.

Losing seventy million is not frightening.

The frightening thing is, they saw no effect whatsoever!

After a moment of silence, a young man furrowed his brow and said, ”We underestimated the ancestral being’s combat style and capability. From the freezing breath he just released, drones cannot approach within a 500-meter range, what should we do?”

George did not answer immediately, but instead spoke to the nearby technician, ”Rewind the footage of him releasing the freezing breath; I want to take a closer look.”

The young white female technician immediately said, ”Yes.”

After saying that, she pulled up the footage and rewound it.

George and the consortium magnates all stared intently at the screen.

A moment later, George revealed a relieved smile, ”Though the freezing breath released by the ancestral being is frightening, there’s no need for concern; its ’range’ appears to be quite short, at most four to five hundred meters. This means that as long as our mercenaries and those war machines operate outside of his 500-meter radius, they shouldn’t suffer intensive strikes.”

Steven Rockefeller III nodded in agreement, ”Beyond a 500-meter combat distance, ordinary firearms seem to be useless and we can only use large-caliber sniper rifles, machine guns, and various types of artillery.”

”Then let’s launch a barrage!”

”As long as the ancestral being makes a mistake and a shell lands among the Morgan Clan members, it will kill or injure most of them.”

”Right, it seems unlikely the ancestral being can protect over a hundred Morgan Clan members.”

”George, give the order!”

Everyone turned to look forward.

George decisively ordered, ”Immediately instruct those mercenaries to change their combat strategy, setting up sniper rifles, machine guns, and various artillery around him. Remember, if something goes wrong, have them retreat from their current position right away, relocate to continue harassing; I believe with this strategy, the ancestral being would be too overwhelmed to eradicate all 30,000 of them!”

”Yes!”

The sixty-something commanding officer promptly contacted the frontline, issuing commands to change the combat strategy.

A series of ”Roger” responses came through the electronic devices.

Those twenty to thirty thousand mercenaries were preparing for combat in an orderly fashion!

...

Around the Sahara Desert, many journalists were lurking.

Nearly all of those who came this time were war correspondents.

Among them were quite a few who participated in previous mecha combat group exercises.

For instance, the world’s top war correspondent Douglas, Huaxia’s Lu Guang, France’s Adrian, Germany’s Felix, Japan’s Ito San Lang, South Korea’s Han Lina, and others.

These journalists, who somehow obtained information about the event, arrived at nearly the same time as the mercenaries.

In the eyes of Douglas, Lu Guang, and Adrian, the war between the ancestral being and the Bald Eagle this time would definitely be earth-shattering.

So they decided that even if it cost them their lives, they would capture the first-hand footage.

What shocked everyone was that just as they arrived here without having time to set up their filming equipment, they witnessed dozens of miniature aerial attack drones charging from all directions towards the ancestral being and the Morgan Clan members, and then, an astonishing scene unfolded. The ancestral being opened his mouth, unleashing a torrent of ”white energy” that swept across and instantly froze and destroyed the dozens of miniature aerial attack drones!

”My Fack?”

”What on earth did that ancestor spew from his mouth, how could it be so terrifying?”

”In a single moment, it froze all those miniature drones into ice sculptures and destroyed them?”

”Wow, why do I feel like I’m watching ’Superman’?”

”You know, the ’white energy’ that the ancestor just spewed from his mouth really resembles Superman’s ’freezing breath’!”

”Holy crap, does this mean that Krypton might really exist in the cosmos? And the ancestor is actually a Kryptonian?”

The journalists were stunned!

After a brief moment of shock, they quickly became excited.

They realized they might witness something even more thrilling today.

Or rather, they were about to overturn the whole world’s understanding of the ancestor’s ’superpowers’!

In an instant, they could no longer hold back, and hastily set up their filming equipment, eager to record this precious information.

...

Never mind how George and those consortium bigwigs or journalists reacted.

Having just destroyed fifty miniature drones, Lu Li was now controlling the Morgan Clan members with high-level pheromones.

Originally, he intended to take them to a shady place, wait until midnight, and then fulfill his promise to annihilate the Morgan Clan.

Who could have expected that the Old Ugly Consortium moved so swiftly, right after he finished the handover with Zhou Jinming, his ’surveillance mode’ detected many mercenaries surrounding from all directions.

The mercenaries didn’t immediately spring into action, but instead released fifty drones.

Lu Li couldn’t allow those drones to get close and harm the Morgan Clan members, but he also couldn’t leave them too far behind for fear the mercenaries would rescue them, so he used his freezing breath to destroy those drones.

Even though all the drones were destroyed, he still felt puzzled.

”It doesn’t make sense. The Old Ugly people came to rescue the hostages, why send drones?”

Lu Li frowned, thinking, ”Although the drones aren’t overly powerful, they still have a decent range. If those mortar shells go off, they’ll spray steel balls and flames, causing mass damage around.”

Do these mercenaries from the Old Ugly Consortium not fear the mortar shells killing the Morgan Clan members?

He was extremely puzzled, not understanding why the mercenaries from the Old Ugly Consortium acted this way.

In his mind, the Old Ugly Consortium should have sent people to rescue the Morgan Clan members, never considering that they intended to kill the hostages, so naturally, it didn’t make sense to him.

Feeling that something was wrong, Lu Li subtly controlled the Morgan Clan members to keep moving forward while using ’surveillance mode’ to eavesdrop on the mercenaries’ conversations.

Conversations wafted through the air.

”Shit!”

”The ancestor is ferocious!”

”We deployed fifty drones, and they were destroyed before they could display any power!”

Up to this point, Lu Li hadn’t heard anything useful to answer his questions.

However, the subsequent conversation between several on-site mercenary commanders and a conversation through electronic equipment made him understand what was happening.

One forty-something white man with a big beard spoke into the electronic equipment, ”The drone strike to kill the Morgan Clan members failed, what should we do next?”

An elderly man’s voice speaking American English came through the electronic device, ”Don’t worry, we just reverse-analyzed the video, the freezing breath the ancestor spewed has a range of only about 500 meters. You just need to operate outside the 500-meter range, using sniper rifles, machine guns, and various artillery weapons aimed at the Morgan Clan members, it should accomplish the task!”

What?

The mercenaries’ target wasn’t me, or even a rescue?

Hearing the dialogue between the mercenaries and the elderly man over the electronic device, Lu Li felt utterly shocked.

He never expected those consortium bigwigs to be so ruthless, sending such a large number of mercenaries and formidable combat machines, apparently to wipe out the Morgan Clan members?

Weren’t these people supposed to be on the same side with the Morgan Clan members?

Then why did the Old Ugly consortium bigwigs want to completely annihilate the Morgan Clan members?

A moment’s thought, and Lu Li immediately understood their intention!

He had publicly announced that he would annihilate the Morgan Clan tomorrow.

Judging by the strength he had demonstrated earlier, Old Ugly couldn’t possibly succeed in a rescue.

So, by exterminating the Morgan Clan members now, they’d render his public declaration moot.

It was like a slap in his face!

Understanding what was going on, Lu Li let out a cold laugh, musing to himself: ”Do you think you can stop me from exterminating the Morgan Clan on schedule? Dream on!”

Alright!

Since you’re so ruthless, perfect. There are still seven to eight hours left until tomorrow, I’ll play with you, and show you what it means to suffer losses so severe they’re unimaginable!
