Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 386: Chapter 338: The World’s Media Await the Ancestor’s Decree

All the mercenaries were completely annihilated.

The aircraft carrier battle group was also obliterated and disappeared without a trace.

Naturally, no one stopped the ancestors from exterminating the entire Morgan Clan.

At midnight, those bigwigs from the Old Ugly Consortium, with lifeless eyes, witnessed the entire process of the Morgan Clan’s demise.

Of course, it wasn’t just the moguls of the Old Ugly Consortium who saw it.

War correspondents and the media bosses waiting in the satellite control room almost all saw it.

No bloody or violent scenes occurred; the ancestors merely waved their hand lightly, and along with John Chris Morgan, over a hundred members of the Morgan Clan were reduced to particles and dispersed across the heavens and earth.

It was as if, apart from the memories, John Chris Morgan and the other Morgan Clan members never existed at all.

After exterminating the Morgan Clan, the ancestors immediately vanished from satellite surveillance.

At this moment, those bigwigs of the Old Ugly Consortium and the media bosses realized that they were only able to track all the actions of the ancestors because the latter allowed it; otherwise, the satellites wouldn’t have detected anything!

Or rather, the ancestors intentionally conveyed this deterrent power to the world, allowing their satellites to capture the battlefield situation!

...

Logically speaking, several hours had already passed since the ancestors resisted nuclear missiles and obliterated the aircraft carrier battle group; the news should have been all over by now.

After all, upon witnessing the ancestors withstand a nuclear missile with a yield of millions of tons, those media bosses were eager to snag the first-hand reader resources and upload the earth-shattering achievement of the ancestors, as well as the authentic portrait images captured, onto news websites and print them in newspapers.

However, in reality, as of now, not a single world-class news media’s newspaper or website has reported any news related to the ancestors.

The main reason is that all those media bosses were severely intimidated by the previous ruthlessness of the ancestors, and they were hesitant, unsure whether to report it or not.

Because if the report was not appropriate and angered the ancestors, it could possibly bring about a catastrophic disaster to their own country!

New York, Ugly Country United Press Association.

As the largest multinational non-profit news organization in the world, the company has over 1,700 partner newspapers, more than 5,000 TV and radio stations, with 250 news bureaus globally and offices in 120 countries; one can imagine its scale.

It was approximately 7 PM in Old Ugly, past office hours.

However, in the headquarters building of Ugly Union News, none of the executives had left work.

Instead, they gathered in a meeting room to attend a highly crucial meeting.

Daisy Wei, the company’s president and CEO, was presiding over this important meeting.

She first had her assistant play some astonishing footage captured by satellites and frontline reporters.

After the playback was finished, Daisy Wei glanced at the dozen or so executives who had already fallen into a daze, and said softly, ”You all have been made aware of the notice from the ancestors. I now have only one question: should we report on this battle news of the ancestors, which is significant enough to shake the entire world? If we do report it, there’s a possibility we could inadvertently offend the ancestors, which might, in the worst-case scenario, lead to a devastating blow to our nation. But if we don’t report it and someone else beats us to it, we might lose a substantial market share. I’ve said my piece, now let’s hear your thoughts.”

The group remained in a state of deep shock.

No one could respond to Daisy Wei right away.

Until Daisy Wei repeatedly urged them, finally someone spoke up.

The person who responded was the company’s Chief Communications Officer, Paul Charles.

With a serious expression, he said, ”Personally, I believe we should report it.”

The Chief Administrative Officer, a black man, frowned and said, ”Paul, you saw the notice from the ancestors, which was conjured from seawater. If we report this news and inadvertently offend the ancestors, can we bear the consequences?”

Daisy Wei and several executives slightly nodded in agreement with the Chief Administrative Officer’s opinion.

Paul Charles earnestly analyzed: ”Firstly, if the ancestors didn’t want global media to report this news, they would have completely disappeared from satellite footage, just like at the end, rather than let us witness the entire process. What does this indicate? It shows the ancestors want global media to report it, to enhance their deterrence power and deter groups like the Jalisco Group and the Morgan Clan from provoking them in the future. Does this statement make sense to you?”

”Yes.”

”It should be.”

Paul Charles went on: ”Secondly, since we know the ancestors want us to report this news, and they have given us a strict warning, we need to know what to report and what not to report.”

Another senior female executive asked, ”Could you elaborate?”

Paul Charles pointed to the computer-generated detailed image of the ancestors and said, ”Regarding the real appearance of the ancestors, it’s not to be reported. The rest, we report without any reservations; the whole process of events should be reported without alteration. The reason we shouldn’t report the ancestors’ real appearance is that after surviving a nuclear strike, the ancestors briefly revealed their identity but then quickly used their superpowers to disguise themselves, indicating they don’t want people worldwide to know what they truly look like. Therefore, we need to respect their wishes and not report their appearance, only the incident.”

”Makes sense.”

”Paul’s analysis is very accurate!”

”President, what should we do? Should it be according to Paul’s analysis?”

The group agreed, nodding, their eyes focusing on Daisy Wei.

Daisy Wei pondered for a moment and then decisively said, ”Let’s do as Paul suggested. We only report the events and do not publish the ancestors’ appearance!”

When this decision was announced, the executives in the meeting room couldn’t help but heave a sigh of relief.

It was as though what they had just decided wasn’t just a news report but something that could determine global destiny.

Indeed, after witnessing the power and notice of the ancestors, these executives felt immense pressure.

After all, within their understanding, whether or not to report this news could affect the survival of Old Ugly, naturally requiring caution.

...

Similar situations are continuously unfolding at major news media headquarters around the globe.

Brazil’s ”O Estado de São Paulo”.

”Should we report this?”

”I think we shouldn’t report on this matter to avoid inviting trouble.”

”No no no, quite the opposite, I believe we should report, mainly because of the Ancestor... ”

United Kingdom, Reuters.

”My God!”

”Is the Ancestor truly like a god!?”

”Like? The power he showed this time is practically divine!”

”Stop marveling, let’s discuss whether we should report his latest battle.”

Japan, Yomiuri News Headquarters.

”Baka, you’ve spent an hour discussing and still haven’t given an answer?”

”President, this issue is too significant, you wouldn’t want the country to be destroyed, would you?”

”Yes, we should be cautious and wait until other media report it, see the trend, and if the Ancestor doesn’t mind, we can follow up with reports.”

”By then, the opportunity would have passed! Why even bother reporting then?”

Australia, ”The Herald Weekly”.

”Oh my god!”

”The Ancestor is terrifying!”

”Boss, I think we better not report this news, otherwise we might anger the Ancestor, and the consequences would be unimaginable!”

”Yes, not reporting a piece of news might cause us to lose some market share, but at least we won’t face annihilation!”

”You all make valid points; not reporting might be the safest. But have you thought about this—right now, major media outlets worldwide are likely just as afraid to report this. If we were the first to report, imagine the impact and attention we could garner?”

”Yes, I agree with the boss’s opinion. As long as we are measured, we can report it!”

Similar scenarios are playing out at the headquarters of major media outlets globally.

A group of high-ranking media executives, after witnessing the Ancestor’s earth-shattering display, are astounded beyond measure, exclaiming in amazement.

Of course, despite the exclamations, the work continues to be done properly.

Thus, everyone, like Ugly Union News, Reuters, and others, are deliberating whether to report it.

On this matter, the media newsrooms globally exhibit a polarization of opinions.

Some believe that since the Ancestor allowed their journalists to shoot on-site, it indicates permission to report the matter.

Others feel that the Ancestor’s stern warning clearly forbids any reporting.

The two groups insist on their views, caught in endless arguments.

This is because both sides have their own reasons.

Those advocating for reporting argue that this news is extremely sensational, enough to shock the world.

Reporting it could attract enough traffic and attention.

Moreover, the Ancestor deliberately let them witness the battle.

Doesn’t this signify permission to report?

As for those who dare not report, they insist that the Ancestor allowed everyone to see the entire battle because he was in combat mode, possibly not focusing on concealing his presence.

If reported, it is highly likely the Ancestor will carry out the warnings, bringing disaster to their country.

Therefore, it should not be reported.

In ordinary times, such circumstances would leave people extremely astonished.

Who doesn’t know that the media loves all kinds of sensational news?

They wouldn’t care if the subject is willing to disclose the matter or not.

Be it celebrity scandals.

Or the dirty dealings of politicians.

The media’s stance is the angrier you get, the hotter our news becomes.

Yet, when it comes to the Ancestor’s issues, these media must consider what can be reported and what cannot.

Such reactions indicate just how much terrifying influence the Ancestor’s display in Niger has imposed on the world!

So terrifying, that the typically ”lawless” global media, this time, must gauge the Ancestor’s ”expression” before deciding whether to report!
