Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 357: Chapter 314: One Billion Avatars, Traveling Ten Thousand Worlds

Today, Lu Li is very tired.

In the morning, he condensed several kilograms of ”volcanic ash rock” subatomic particles, almost depleting the energy within his body.

Afterwards, although he rested for a few hours and recovered a lot of energy, he then continually used his superpowers to carry members of the Morgan Clan away from the Ugly Country, which consumed a lot of energy as well.

In the end, he used the high-level life pheromone on over a hundred people consecutively, which can be said to have exhausted his energy.

If he used the high-level life pheromone on a hundred people at once, it might not have been so strenuous.

However, spreading it out, that kind of continuous consumption truly gives one a feeling of exhaustion.

After the interrogation, Lu Li had Zhou Jinming, Zhu Fangming, and others take turns guarding the members of the Morgan Clan, then he fell into a deep sleep himself.

Before the fourth deep evolution, Lu Li would sometimes dream.

Accompanying the completion of the fourth deep evolution, he reached the realm of a ”real person with no dreams.”

According to reason, after reaching the realm of a ”real person with no dreams,” one should not dream under any circumstances.

However, this time when he fell asleep, a rather strange situation occurred.

...

Not long after he fell asleep.

Lu Li ”saw” his ”consciousness” emerge from his body, hovering outside his physical body, being fully aware of everything within an eighty-kilometer radius.

Regardless of all the artificial structures within this eighty-kilometer radius or every small insect and even every tiny particle, all were reflected in his ”consciousness.”

This sensation was like the ”area omniscience” when activating a ”field.”

The difference was that ”area omniscience” would consume an enormous amount of energy, whereas in the current state, energy consumption was not felt.

”Huh?” Lu Li realized his physical body had fallen into a deep sleep, but his ”consciousness” was exceptionally clear, ”What is this? I obviously didn’t activate the ’field,’ so how could there be ’area omniscience’?”

He found it strange.

Lu Li calmed himself to carefully sense.

Initially, he didn’t notice any difference.

A moment later, he gradually sensed what was different between this state and activating a ”field.”

If activating a ”field” is like high-power electrical appliances being turned on, then the current state is more like there’s a ”battery” in his ”consciousness.”

At this moment, this ”battery” is fully charged, and as long as it’s not entirely consumed, it can independently exist.

In short, the ”field” is like a ”tram,” with high power and more superpowers available.

The current state is like a small ”remote-controlled airplane” with a ”battery,” having very low power and superpowers...

Well, except for ”area omniscience,” there’s hardly any.

”A bit similar to ’astral projection.’”

Lu Li mused, ”However, ’astral projection’ can use superpowers and consumes a lot of energy. Mine is more like a ’power-saving mode’ of ’astral projection,’ but with some subtle differences. It seems it can continually become stronger until one day, I can exhibit a ’field,’ or even more magical superpowers, in this invisible and intangible state.”

This was the information he ”anticipated” from this state, whether it is so or not remains unclear.

He remembered ”astral projection” is an erroneous evolutionary method with a certain distance limitation and cannot be separated from energy replenishment, usually just the limit of the ”field,” roughly an eighty-kilometer radius.

Lu Li felt some curiosity, ”Does the ’battery’ function mean I can break through the ’field’ limit range and travel to farther places?”

With a thought, he was surprised to find his ”consciousness” suddenly appeared above a mountain range beyond eighty kilometers!

This process might have taken only two or three seconds.

”Oh?” Lu Li became interested, ”In this state, I seem to be able to break through the ’field’ limit range, and with a thought, it seems I can go anywhere I want, breaking the limits of matter.”

”Moreover, even if I’ve exceeded the ’field’ limit range from my physical body, I seem to still be able to sense and control the body.”

Lu Li fully comprehended his current strange state, ”No, I should say, there is still a real ’consciousness’ within me, but because the physical body is too fatigued, that real ’consciousness’ has temporarily fallen into slumber.”

In other words, even if my current ”consciousness” were destroyed, it wouldn’t impact the real body.

Lu Li thought quietly for a while, still not understanding the situation.

But one thing could be sure: in the current state, energy consumption is extremely small.

Judging from the consumption rate, even if this ”consciousness” doesn’t return to the physical body to replenish energy, it can last for twelve hours.

”When I traversed eighty kilometers in four or five seconds just now, it seemed the consumption increased slightly.”

Lu Li mused, ”And I didn’t calculate whether it was two or three seconds to traverse eighty kilometers, I should test it to get a complete set of data.”

Thinking this, he locked his gaze on the direction of Los Angeles and once again drifted away with a thought.

One second.

Five seconds.

Nine seconds.

When ten seconds arrived, Lu Li stopped and judged how far he had traveled.

In the end, he reached two conclusions.

First, long-distance travel does indeed increase energy consumption, but it’s still not particularly excessive, just slightly more than maintaining it, after all, ”consciousness” is intangible and formless, so its energy consumption is naturally low.

Second, in ten seconds, he traveled at least 240 kilometers!

”24 kilometers per second?”

Lu Li found it somewhat unbelievable, ”Even when I activate the Biological Force Field, my full-speed flight is only about 6 kilometers per second, yet in this state, the travel speed can actually be faster?”

He could sense that 24 kilometers per second was not the limit of this ”consciousness state.”

It’s just that when he wanted to teleport, it seemed necessary to establish a connection with his physical body and get feedback before being allowed to teleport.

This feeling was like he was a drone, and the body was the remote control.

The ”consciousness” needed to first send a command to the body.

The body would respond with a series of reactions, finally giving the ”consent” command, allowing him to teleport.

”Wait a minute!” Lu Li suddenly thought of something, ”I remember the limit speed of human thought is 120 meters per second. My current physical fitness strength is about 200 times that of a normal human at their peak state. Teleporting 240 kilometers in ten seconds precisely corresponds to the speed of thought 200 times that of normal physical fitness, doesn’t it?”

When he first completed the fourth deep evolution, his physical strength was roughly equal to slightly more than 100 times that of a human at their peak.

As the days passed and he further enhanced himself, as evidenced by the direct judgment from the expansion of the domain’s range.

Since the body was twice as strong as before, it was roughly 200 times the peak of a normal human, wasn’t it?

He vaguely understood something.

Unsurprisingly, the idea that his ”mental state” could travel at a further distance was correct.

The reasons he cannot break this limit now are twofold.

First, the physical body is not powerful enough.

If the physical body reached ten thousand times the peak physical strength of a human.

Perhaps he could teleport 1,200,000 meters in one second.

Which is 1,200 kilometers per second.

At first glance, this seems far from the speed of light, which is 300,000 kilometers per second.

However, Lu Li did not think this way, because there was a second reason.

The second reason is that his physical body is in deep sleep.

Everything is a reflex of the body, transmitting instructions to the ”consciousness.”

This is the instinctive behavior of the body.

Let’s not forget that his physical strength is not only nearly 200 times higher than normal humans, but his body structure has also become a semi-energy body.

If in a conscious state, the mind within a semi-energy body would operate even faster.

Just as information is transmitted at the speed of light through optical fibers, once he becomes a true energy body, his thought speed should also be the speed of light.

Although a semi-energy body does not reach the speed of light, it might reach one-tenth or one-hundredth of the speed of light.

If this speculation is entirely correct, the teleportation speed of his ”consciousness state” could at least reach between 3,000 and 30,000 kilometers per second.

Of course, this quick speed is just one advantage.

In reality, aside from the ability of ”area omniscience” sensing with a radius of 80 kilometers, the ”consciousness state” has no other superpowers.

Lu Li feels that the ”consciousness state” is more like a ”reconnaissance mode.”

”What circumstances exactly have cultivated my state?”

He felt very puzzled inside, ”Could this be the correct way of evolution? Yet, why is it so similar to ’Primordial Spirit leaving the body’? The only difference is that while ’Primordial Spirit leaving the body’ ultimately leads to becoming an energy body, this method makes my ’consciousness’ more like a ’clone’, and according to my intuition, it could evolve into a ’Primordial Spirit leaving the body’ mode in the future, even stronger than ’Primordial Spirit leaving the body.’”

Lu Li suddenly recalled the Yang God mentioned in the Dao Sutra, able to split into countless forms and roam the heavens and worlds.

He pondered, could it be that his state is somewhat like the ”Yang God”?

If he evolved to a more powerful state, could he also split into countless forms and roam the heavens and worlds?

”Whether or not this is the case, I can’t possibly understand it no matter how hard I think for now.”

Lu Li knew that the boat will naturally straighten when it reaches the bridge, and he would naturally comprehend when he evolves to that ”transcendent realm.”

”The most important thing for me now is, to take advantage of the period when ’recon mode’ is open, to see if John Chris Morgan is in Fairbanks.”

Thinking of this, Lu Li moved his ”consciousness” northward.

Tijuana was a full 2,200 kilometers away from Fairbanks.

If in a normal physical state, Lu Li would need at least twenty minutes to fly such a long distance.

The ”recon mode” travel speed is faster, reaching 24 kilometers in one second.

In less than a hundred seconds, his ”consciousness” had already arrived over the city of Fairbanks.

Lu Li couldn’t help but marvel, ”The speed is really too fast, truly amazing!”
