Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 387: Chapter 339: Collecting a Little Interest First

Old Ugly, the consortium big shots are still in the command room and haven’t left.

At this moment, George, Marcus Locke, and Steven Rockefeller III, all sat there in silence, staring blankly.

The reason these big shots, who have weathered many storms, appear this way is entirely because the loss is too great.

In this battle, they lost thirty thousand mercenaries, seven thousand formal soldiers, a carrier battle group, three hundred cannons, dozens or hundreds of light tanks, light armored vehicles, and many armed helicopters, unmanned combat aircraft, etc.

Not to mention anything else, thirty thousand mercenaries, according to past conventions, a compensation of one million US dollars per death, thirty thousand people is a full thirty billion dollars!

The seven thousand soldiers are similar; apart from needing direct compensation of five hundred thousand US dollars initially, there are also various other aspects, including burial fees, family allowances, etc., which add up to nearly a million per person, another seven billion dollars.

The carrier battle group needs no mention; not counting other compensations, just based on the cost of construction, they have to take out ten billion dollars.

As for the three hundred cannons, that is not a small price either.

Take one self-propelled gun from among them, with a unit price of about seven million US dollars.

Even assuming an average price of only five million US dollars per piece, then three hundred pieces would be 1.5 billion.

Tanks, armored vehicles, armed helicopters, unmanned combat aircraft, guns, and ammunition, etc.

Someone calculated internally and couldn’t help but shiver.

Because the calculated price is as high as five to six hundred billion US dollars!

Five to six hundred billion US dollars, even if these consortiums split it evenly, each consortium would have to take out at least several billion!

The loss is severe!

No, the loss is so severe that it cannot adequately describe the loss of these consortiums.

In this, they indeed suffered a catastrophic defeat.

Although losing five to six hundred billion US dollars is still within their acceptable range.

But throwing in so much money and seeing no effect.

This is undoubtedly more hurtful than killing them.

Once the matter is reported.

The whole world will laugh at their incompetence!

Spending five to six hundred billion US dollars to buy a reputation for incompetence?

After a long silence, Marcus Locke said bitterly, ”Is it worth it?”

George, Lady Koch Du Pont, and Steven Rockefeller III, upon hearing this, all involuntarily looked up, and each one’s bitter smile deepened.

Yeah!

Spending five to six hundred billion US dollars to buy a reputation for incompetence, is it really worth it?

George, Marcus Locke, and Steven Rockefeller III all know that this time they truly lost, utterly defeated!

...

On the other side, Lu Li didn’t consider the media’s reactions, nor did he ponder how miserable the Old Ugly Consortium big shots felt at the moment.

After resolving all the members of the Morgan Clan exactly at midnight, he immediately concealed himself and flew towards Huaxia.

Niger is about nine thousand kilometers from Huaxia.

Well, it’s about the same distance from Ugly Country too.

Previously, when Lu Li flew from Old Ugly to Niger, it took about thirty-four minutes.

At that time, Lu Li’s flight speed reached a terrifying 15,480 kilometers per hour.

This time, when Lu Li flew back to Su City from Niger, he was surprised to find it only took twenty-one minutes.

”Over nine thousand kilometers, and I only took twenty-one minutes?”

Lu Li felt a bit incredulous, ”That means my current flight speed has reached over 25,700 kilometers per hour?”

He felt a bit confused.

How did his flight speed increase so much?

After a little pondering, Lu Li knew what was going on.

He had stayed in Niger for five or six days.

Seeing that he was in a state of continuous evolution every day.

Over these few days, he had unknowingly enhanced a lot.

This discovery made Lu Li very happy, ”Currently, my flight speed has exceeded Mach 21, just one step away from the first cosmic speed of Mach 23.2.”

He thinks that, at the current evolution rate, in three or four days at most, his flight speed should break through the first cosmic speed.

At that time, he could roam freely in the cosmos!

Lu Li, while descending toward the Diamond Home, mused with interest whether his venture into the cosmos would create a scene like the white-light ascension described in Daoist scriptures.

Thinking about this, he flew in through the open window, arriving in the second-floor corridor.

At this time, it was about seven-thirty in the morning Huaxia Time.

According to Lu Li’s understanding of Liu Kexin, she should be in the bedroom putting on makeup.

He quietly walked to the door.

Knocked on the door, thump thump thump.

Inside, Liu Kexin’s pleasant voice came, ”Aunt Huang, come in.”

This house had only three people living in it, and Lu Li had been away for many days, so it was natural for Liu Kexin to assume it was Aunt Huang.

Lu Li pushed the door open and saw Liu Kexin, dressed in a short-sleeved white shirt and women’s suit pants, sitting in front of the vanity mirror, applying blush to her cheeks.

Perhaps because she was too focused, she didn’t notice who had come in.

Lu Li deliberately made no sound, quietly walked over to her side, and suddenly hugged her tightly.

”Ah!”

Liu Kexin was startled and instinctively let out a scream before beginning to struggle.

Seeing this, Lu Li broke into a sweat and hurriedly tried to calm her, saying, ”Don’t scream, it’s me.”

Hearing his voice, Liu Kexin quickly looked to see who it was, and then her eyes filled with surprise and joy.

She reached out and hugged Lu Li’s neck tightly, speaking with a bit of excitement, ”You’re finally back!”

It was clear that she was genuinely happy about Lu Li’s return.

Lu Li also extended his hands to hug her waist, leaning in to whisper in her ear, ”I’m back. You don’t have to worry about me anymore.”

Liu Kexin stubbornly said, ”Who’s worried about you? Hmph!”

With that, she pushed Lu Li away, speaking angrily, ”You’re always like this, leaving without a word and disappearing for days. This time was even worse, gone for over ten days without a single message. Lu Li, you’re really too much!”

Seeing her puffed-up expression, Lu Li knew he was in the wrong.

Indeed, it was over ten days without any contact; it was extremely inconsiderate.

If she didn’t care about him, she wouldn’t be this angry.

Lu Li knew Liu Kexin cared, which is why she acted this way.

He stepped forward to hug her again, coaxing, ”I had things to do out there, didn’t you see it in the news? If I didn’t handle it well, it would have caused trouble for you and my family, so I had no choice.”

Liu Kexin remained stiff and upset, ”Going out is one thing, but over ten days without a word, is that acceptable?”

”It’s not acceptable, not at all.” Lu Li continued to placate her, ”I promise, in the future, I’ll update you on my whereabouts every day if I have to go out, okay?”

Liu Kexin tilted her head and said, ”Who wants you to report your whereabouts? I’m not your wife, hmph.”

Lu Li grinned cheekily, ”You can be my wife, your dad has already agreed.”

Liu Kexin pouted, ”Wishful thinking, I don’t plan on marrying you so soon.”

Seeing she was still somewhat upset, Lu Li promised, ”Kexin, I won’t go anywhere these days, I’ll stay at home with you. Will that make you feel better?”

”Really?” Liu Kexin looked over with surprise, but then quickly added stubbornly, ”Stay if you want.”

Stubbornness was a consistent trait of hers, and Lu Li was long used to it.

He picked Liu Kexin up, causing her to let out a surprised cry, ”I will definitely spend time with you. Don’t go to work today; let’s just enjoy a lazy day at home.”

Usually, Liu Kexin would refuse or negotiate, asking for some terms to go back to work.

But perhaps due to their long separation, their reunion felt more intimate this time. Liu Kexin nodded obediently while holding onto Lu Li’s neck for balance, ”Okay.”

Lu Li gently laid Liu Kexin on the bed, then leaned in to kiss her lips.

Liu Kexin instinctively closed her eyes, responding with passionate enthusiasm, quite different from her usual passivity.

Seeing her so cooperative, Lu Li’s thoughts became impure, and he started touching her all over.

In the past, Liu Kexin would often stop him in such situations.

But this time, her face just turned red, without any attempts to stop him.

Growing bolder, Lu Li reached for her belt.

Liu Kexin abruptly opened her eyes, and with a hint of pleading in her voice said, ”Lu Li, no, I’m not ready yet.”

As they kissed and touched, Lu Li’s excitement had been stirred up; how could he hold back?

He continued to kiss her, still trying to undo her belt, and mumbling, ”Okay.”

Liu Kexin couldn’t help but laugh and cry, holding his hand, ”Don’t just say okay while keeping your hands busy.”

Lu Li, in a hurry, asked, ”We’ve come this far, and you still don’t want to have a relationship with me?”

”It’s not that I don’t want to.” Liu Kexin pitifully said, ”You need to give me some time to prepare. You just returned after being away for over ten days, and you want to... you want to... how am I supposed to feel?”

Indeed, this was too rushed.

Lu Li had to release her.

He lay on his side, looking into her eyes, and asked, ”Then when are you planning to give yourself to me?”

Liu Kexin tentatively said, ”Give me another one... two... three months, okay?”

Lu Li rolled his eyes, ”Three months? Are you trying to drive me crazy? No way, I’ll give you three hours at most.”

Liu Kexin said helplessly, ”What’s the difference between three hours and now?”

”No difference, exactly.” Lu Li turned over and pinned her beneath him again, ”So why don’t we do it now...”

”No! No! I’m begging you!”

Liu Kexin pushed against Lu Li’s chest, pitifully pleading, ”Give me a little time to think, okay?”

Lu Li insisted on an answer, ”How long do you need to think?”

Liu Kexin weakly said, ”I’ll give you an answer before tonight, okay... is that okay with you?”

Tonight?

That’s less than a day.

”Fine.” Lu Li didn’t push her, but his smile was mischievous, ”Then take your time, and I’ll collect some interest in the meantime.”
