Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 372: Chapter 328: Shock Across the Land

On the screen appeared scenes of utmost bloodshed and horror.

Corpses lay scattered everywhere, with severed limbs and remains all around.

The terrifying red blood flowed like a flood, staining the desert with its gory hue.

It was as if it was not a battlefield over there, but rather Hell had descended upon the earth.

No one expected that the Ancestral Figures not only had the capability to protect the lives of hundreds of members of the Morgan Clan, but could also unleash such tremendous and dreadful destructive power without moving an inch!

One move.

It took just one move.

In a flash, the one or two thousand mercenaries armed with submachine guns, mounted machine guns, and sniper rifles were mostly killed or wounded!

Even though many mercenaries were not killed, their gray, dust-covered and terrified faces shown on the screen revealed just how fearful they were inside!

This move left everyone around in shock.

George was completely stunned!

Steven Rockefeller III’s eyes were wide open like saucers!

Lady Koch Du Pont, Marcus Locke, and all the remaining big shots of the consortia were ashen-faced!

All these people were shocked by the dreadful destructive power of the Ancestral Figures, to the point where they all stopped breathing.

Especially the young man who had arrogantly claimed earlier that the Ancestral Figures were worthless, as well as the few consortium big shots who agreed with him, were now trembling in fear as though the Ancestral Figures were right before them instead of across the ocean!

Wasn’t it said that the Ancestral Figures couldn’t make it?

Wasn’t it said that the Ancestral Figures could barely withstand tens of thousands of armed men shooting simultaneously?

Damn, if wiping out nearly ten thousand men with one move wasn’t making it, then what was?

The young man fell completely silent, bowing his head with a bitter smile.

He realized that even if they achieved their goal of killing all members of the Morgan Clan, they had actually suffered a crushing defeat.

Why?

The death gratuity for one mercenary amounted to a million US Dollars.

Now, nearly ten thousand mercenaries had been killed, and the total death gratuities had reached over ten billion US Dollars!

It must be noted that these consortium big shots had previously prepared a war budget of a hundred billion US Dollars.

Yet, just shortly after clashing with the Ancestral Figures, they had already expended all their ”war funds”!

Yes, the total value of the forces and personnel they deployed far exceeded a hundred billion US Dollars, making it seem like they invested much more than the ”war funds” amount.

But in fact, the accounts were not calculated this way.

War funds referred to the money burned during warfare.

For instance, the cost of a single bullet is about twenty to thirty cents.

A million bullets would only be two to three hundred thousand US Dollars.

And the bullets fired are seen as expenses, money burned in warfare.

Also, like the pocket-sized unmanned bombers earlier.

The construction cost for a single one is one million four hundred thousand US Dollars.

Losing fifty of them meant burning seventy million US Dollars in warfare expenses.

Of course, these expenses also include equipment maintenance, personnel salaries, and various other areas.

Nevertheless, George, Marcus Locke, and the big shots of the consortium did not expect to lose nearly ten thousand mercenaries in one go.

In their view, for the Ancestral Figures to protect the lives of hundreds of Morgan Clan members, it was simply impossible to create such a large-scale slaughter or to cause any long-distance destruction of various weapons.

So, from beginning to end, they believed that losing thousands or hundreds of men, along with some light tanks, armored vehicles, and armed helicopters, was all within reason.

Including the possible use of aircraft carriers or even launching high-yield nuclear bombs later, they believed that burning through a hundred billion US Dollars was the limit and would not surpass that figure.

Yet, George, Marcus Locke, and the other consortium big shots did not expect that right at the beginning of their direct confrontation, they had already burned through the war funds they thought impossible to spend!

The main reason was they had underestimated...

No, they should say they had underestimated the terrifying eruption of the Ancestral Figures!

What kind of monster is this?

How could it possibly flash with red light and kill over ten thousand mercenaries?

The hearts of George, Marcus Locke, and Steven Rockefeller III, as well as the other consortium big shots, were all trembling continuously inside.

Some even showed this inner trembling physically, with their entire bodies shaking!

They knew that today’s battle with the Ancestral Figures would likely cost much more than a hundred billion US Dollars.

According to the current situation, it was very possible that the two to three thousand mercenaries on the front line would all be killed.

The only unit that might remain intact was likely the aircraft carrier battle group.

After all, it operates at a distance of six hundred to a thousand kilometers.

They did not believe that the Ancestral Figures, while needing to protect hundreds of members of the Morgan Clan, could still have the capability to inflict severe damage on the aircraft carrier battle group over six hundred kilometers away on the coastline.

This was not possible!

In other words, the combat units they dispatched would not be completely wiped out.

This was supposed to be a very ordinary thing, yet... why did it become something to be thankful for?

George felt a trace of bitterness at the corner of his mouth, completely silent.

Steven Rockefeller III wanted to sigh, but he felt so blocked inside that he couldn’t even get a sigh out.

The remaining Marcus Locke, Lady Koch Du Pont, and other consortium big shots almost had the same reaction.

For a moment, in the vast command room, with dozens of people, it suddenly became dead silent!

If one had to use a word to describe the atmosphere in the command room at this moment, it would probably be ”pin-drop silence”.

Yes, if someone were to drop a pin now, it could be heard clearly by everyone.

It’s conceivable how quiet these big shots of the Ugly Country’s consortia had become.

This point also reflects their inner shock and bitterness, how intense it truly is!

...

The situation among the war correspondents was almost identical to that in the command room of the Ugly Country.

Lu Guang, through high-powered binoculars, saw the devastation ahead, utterly stunned!

Douglas gasped, his eyes bulging like a cow’s.

Han Lina, Ito San Lang, Felix, and all the other reporters were all dumbfounded at this moment, their expressions exaggerated!

Earlier, they saw the Ancestor being ”suppressed”, with someone speculating that the Ancestor’s capability in single combat might only be what was shown in a prior direct battle with the Jalisco Group, defeating hundreds of fighters at most.

Who would have thought that this analysis had barely been born for one or two minutes before the Ancestor’s unbelievably powerful strength fiercely proved it wrong!

Hundreds of fighters were far from the opponent’s limit in single combat!

Even tens of thousands of fighters were not the opponent’s limit in single combat!

Because the opponent merely stood there, emitting an extremely intense red light that annihilated over ten thousand mercenaries. How could the limit be so few?

So, what is the limit of the Ancestor’s slaughter capability in single combat?

Before the birth of this shocking scene, perhaps some would speculate a few hundred, a few thousand, or even over ten thousand, but no one would ever guess more than ten thousand.

But now, the top war correspondent from France, Adrian, felt a tremor in his heart, thinking that the Ancestor’s single combat limit might be... endless?

Indeed, Adrian didn’t dare to speculate on a specific number anymore, directly believing in his heart that the Ancestor’s single combat limit should have no limit.

It clearly shows how profoundly Adrian’s heart was shaken by the enormous power the Ancestor just unleashed.

Revered as a deity!

At this moment, Adrian already equated the terms Ancestor and deity in his heart.

Regardless of how shocked Adrian, Lu Guang, Douglas, and other war correspondents were, as they gazed at the distant, hell-like terrifying scene, they were truly terrified, to the point that no one could utter a word.

Hence, these hundreds of war correspondents standing in the desert, along with their team members, were as silent as those bigwig consortium members in the Ugly Country command room, silent until the glow of the sunset spilled over the desert, seemingly making a sizzling sound!

They couldn’t help it; everyone was so overwhelmed by the Ancestor’s inhumane massacre that they were speechless.

...

Not everyone was speechless with shock.

Many indigenous people in Niger also saw this scene from afar.

Ithaca is a common surname among the Niger population.

Old Ithaca, being a desert transporter, is sixty-five years old and has been transporting goods with camels for thirty or forty years.

Although the Sahara Desert has a very harsh geographical environment, unsuitable for the majority of crops, Old Ithaca managed to support a family of seven or eight people by transporting goods with camels.

But now, with his advanced age, it is clear that he cannot continue in this trade for much longer.

Thus, recently Old Ithaca has been taking his seven or eight grandchildren on ”runs”, letting them accumulate some experience to take over his trade.

At this moment, the sun was about to set.

Old Ithaca was about to find a shady place to rest for a while with a few of his grandchildren, before continuing their journey, aiming to reach their destination by the next morning.

Suddenly, they heard distant ”rumbling” explosion noises.

Old Ithaca curiously looked towards the sound.

His seven or eight grandchildren did the same.

Soon, they saw an overwhelming red light rising suddenly from the desert in the distance.

Soon, that red light became more and more intense, seemingly overshadowing the glow of the sunset.

Then, the explosion sounds became more and more intense.

They even felt slight tremors in the ground where they were standing.

”What’s going on with that red light?”

Old Ithaca and his seven or eight grandchildren were all taken aback.

One of his grandsons, around fourteen or fifteen, quickly took out his binoculars and took a look at the light source.

The next moment, this grandson screamed in terror, ”Great Allah, the demon has descended upon our land!”

”What’s the matter?”

”What happened?”

Old Ithaca and the others asked urgently.

In their conversation, all of them took out binoculars and looked towards the light source.

Soon, Old Ithaca and his seven or eight grandchildren, all witnessed a horrifyingly bloody scene!

In that extremely distant desert, severed limbs and remains were everywhere, with fresh crimson blood flowing all around, even the desert couldn’t absorb the rolling blood in time!

But what shocked Old Ithaca and his grandchildren the most wasn’t this.

What astounded them most was that in another location stood an Eastern young man, leading hundreds of white men, women, old, and young, expressionless, in the desert.

Around these people was a faint white light shining.

Moreover, the Eastern young man’s body seemed to be emanating waves of red light like those that exploded just now.

It seemed that the earth-shattering red light explosion moments ago had been released from this Eastern young man.

The distance was so far that Old Ithaca and the others could not see clearly what this Eastern young man looked like.

However, they were all so shaken that goosebumps arose all over their bodies.

”Demon!”

”This Easterner must be a demon descending upon the world!”

Old Ithaca and his grandchildren turned pale with fright, fearful, and dared not linger here, frantically urging their camels to leave.

In fact, not only did Old Ithaca and his seven or eight grandchildren witness such a horrific scene.

The entire southern region of the Sahara Desert saw the ”demon’s descent”!
