Chapter 1348: Chapter 82: Myth Shattered (7)

The black luxury Flying Car, escorted by dozens of Feiyang Longsword Mechas, sped along the highway. In the sky, three combat jets cruised high among the clouds, while two support-type jet-armed helicopters closely guarded the convoy on both sides.

Inside the car, Margaret curled her long, beautiful legs on the leather sofa, with one hand supporting the sofa and the other placed on her curled-up thighs. The Martland whiskey in her hand gently swirled into a golden vortex amidst ice cubes and the glass tumbler.

Sitting on the opposite sofa, Annie closed the folder in her hand, raised her head, and looked at her lifelong friend, who was also the master she had sworn loyalty to. As for Annie’s recent report, Margaret seemed completely unimpressed; she only quietly gazed out of the window, her mesmerizingly beautiful face enchanting yet cool.

”Has he woken up?” Margaret asked absentmindedly, gazing out of the window, her eyes becoming tender at this moment.

”No.” Annie sighed inwardly. These days, except for handling complex affairs, Margaret spent most of her time at the hospital. She knew better than anyone about that person’s condition. She had just gone home for a few hours of rest and was on her way back to the hospital again. Every time she spoke, it was the same question.

Looking at the desolation in Margaret’s eyes, Annie said, ”The doctor just notified me that he has been transferred from the ICU to a ward, and from the physical examination, he seems to have no issues. The doctor still doesn’t know why he’s been in a coma. You know, these past two days the hospital has been taken over by the bandit army. Apart from those they know, no one else can get in.”

Margaret turned to Annie and asked, ”Did you just say the 31st Army was crushed by the bandit army?”

”Yes,” Annie nodded, a rare hint of emotion on her face, ”the entire process only lasted three hours, one Armored Division completely crushed four Armored Divisions. The bandit army had zero casualties.”

”Well,” Margaret nodded lightly, ”if you’d been with me to the bandit army Headquarters, you wouldn’t be surprised by these results.”

Annie was silent. If the annihilation of the 31st Army with zero casualties by the bandit army was incredibly shocking to her, then Margaret’s indifferent remark at this moment shocked her even more.

What kind of force is this? Besides these two divisions, is there more of the same kind in their headquarters?

Unbelievable!

”Have they arrived at the Army General Hospital yet?” Margaret gently swirled the golden liquid in the wine glass. Ice cubes clinked crisply against the glass.

”They should be arriving soon,” Annie checked her watch and said solemnly, ”they seem completely unconcerned about the consequences.”

”Consequences?” Margaret sneered, ”this is already their most reasonable act of revenge. If anything happens to Fatty, Leefer should be prepared to collect the bodies of the entire 31st Army.”

Annie opened her mouth wide, incredulously looking at Margaret.

As Margaret’s right-hand woman, Annie had always managed all of the Hastings family’s core forces except for Hastings’ direct troops. Whether it was the first expedition following Margaret years ago or clearing obstacles for the Hastings family in Feiyang’s political struggle, she played a critical role.

Few could match Annie in terms of steadfastness. Her ruthless measures were famous among Feiyang’s upper echelon. But at this moment, compared with those bandit army lunatics, she found herself like a normal kindergarten child. Even if Hastings were under attack, no one would dare to massacre an entire army on the Allies’ territory, right?!

More importantly, knowing Margaret well, Annie realized that Margaret wasn’t exaggerating in the slightest!

”If his subordinates want to make a fuss, I’ll join the commotion,” Margaret took a sip of alcohol, and a faint blush appeared on her fair face due to the alcohol. She quietly watched the scenery outside the window, speaking as if to herself, ”Is the program ready?”

Annie shook her head gently, discarding the shock from her mind, and nodded, ”Yes, Wallace has openly confessed to leaking your itinerary. The entire interrogation process has been recorded by personnel sent by the Military Department, and I have already notified the television station to head to the hospital.”

”These bastards,” Hastings smirked slightly, placing a piece on the chessboard, looking at Li Cunxin, ”I truly don’t know if my decision is right or wrong.”

”What does it matter right or wrong?” Li Cunxin dismissed it, glaring fiercely, ”I like that kid, and if something happens to him, even if the bandit army doesn’t act, I’ll take action myself!”

Saying this, Li Cunxin slapped a piece onto the chessboard and said, ”Three hours, the 31st Army which Leefer bragged about was annihilated by one division of the bandit army at zero cost. Damn it, where did that Fatty get these subordinates? With such overwhelming force, I bet many countries are annoyed with Leefer right now.”

”You too, right?” Hastings chuckled, watching Li Cunxin.

”I’ve long been annoyed with Leefer!” Li Cunxin laughed loudly, ”Besides, the bandit army saved my old man’s life; the entire 13th Armored Division and the 51st Mechanized Infantry Division owe their lives to them. As long as I’m around, Chuckna and the bandit army are like one family. That Fatty is my own grandson! Anyone want to bully him, they’ll have to get past me first!”
