Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1347: Chapter 81: The Shattering of Myth (6)

The battle is already nearing its end.

After four groups of Bandit Army Mecha converged, the entire base became a mess. Countless green steel Fatty Mechas rampaged throughout the base. They were well-coordinated and ruthless in their actions. The Combat Mecha killed at the front, while the Engineering Mecha pried open the cockpits at the rear, allowing groups of soldiers to follow up and tie up the Feiyang mechanics. This organized assault was far more terrifying than a chance encounter on a narrow path.

The mech knights of the 31st Army never expected themselves to collapse so quickly, and so thoroughly. They were the Level 1 Forces of the Leefer Legion, proud to be the only unit that could save this world. Since new recruits entered the camp, they underwent the strictest training, adhered to the harshest discipline, and were required to develop the firmest belief.

They never imagined they would fail. In their lexicon, there were only death and victory. They fervently believed in the doctrines instilled by their officers, always ready to step onto the battlefield and sacrifice themselves.

When two Bandit Army Armored Divisions surrounded the base, their only feeling was one of ridicule.

In the base, not only was a whole army stationed, with four armored divisions, but even just two groups would be enough to beat the bandit militia so badly that they wouldn’t know which direction to turn.

When Admiral Faset, their corps commander, who in their hearts was second only to Leefer, walked out of the base gates to reprimand the encircling bandit army, no one expected the bandit army to so decisively slap Faset’s face and brazenly launch an attack.

It wasn’t until the base alarm screamed harshly, until they leapt into their mechas and started the engines, that they truly believed those militia had already recklessly made their move.

Reckless fools!

The news that Faset and the senior officers of the 31st Army were assaulted quickly spread throughout the entire base. Every mech knight of the 31st Army who jumped into their mecha, fastened their seatbelt, and grasped the heavy, cold Universal Control Stick, felt a surge of Anger vowing to completely crush the bandit army and send every fool who dared to challenge the dignity of the 31st Army into hell.

However, what happened next left them completely bewildered.

They saw the four gates of the base to the east, south, west, and north, suddenly burst open, and countless green mechas, identical in appearance to their Fatty Generals, stormed into the base, knocking down their comrades one by one.

All were battle-hardened Mecha Warriors, and the mech knights of the 31st Army easily relied on their experience to discern what kind of people their enemies were.

They were not the militia with undisciplined action, who had not received formal military training, they were veterans who had crawled and fought through the battlefield, amidst the hail of bullets, acting with extreme ferocity. More importantly, the performance of the mechas they piloted was entirely not inferior to Feiyang’s Tenth Generation Divine Gift, and their control skills... nearly legendary!

The troop is swiftly collapsing. Their ambition is high as the heavens but their fate is thin as paper. This phrase couldn’t be more fitting for the 31st Army.

Initially, everyone thought to defeat the opponent instantly, achieving victory at the least cost and fastest speed. But from the first second of combat, events unfolded in the exact opposite direction of their expectations. The enemy’s first wave of assault took out dozens of mechas at the front of the armored group, with the second wave of assault; the entire formation was disrupted.

As the green mechas at the front pierced through like a sharp knife cutting into tofu and more green mechas pressed from the rear, the mech knights of the 31st Army saw only their comrades around them helplessly falling one after another.

No one dared believe this was real, yet the reality unfolded before their eyes. Their hand speed they took pride in, the combat spirit they took pride in, the evasive maneuvers and combat skills they took pride in, were utterly useless against the fierce bandit army mecha pilots. This battle, from the beginning, they had already lost.

This psychological impact was fatal.

The mech knights of the 31st Army, in the end, were merely numbly resisting, numbly charging, no matter what they did, no matter how insane they became, they felt themselves and their comrades akin to eggs crashing against a hard stone. This psychological gap made every mech knight of the 31st Army feel as if they had lost their soul.

Invincible, how ironic these four words sound!

In the devastated base, the Bandit Army had already begun the final purge. The Special Forces Group stubbornly resisted and desperately tried to retrieve their commander who had been hung on the flagpole, but were cleanly taken down by the bandit army’s advanced mecha pilots with near-teasing tactics. The two Armored Groups now had less than five hundred mechas left, and their numbers continued to dwindle.

The Ryan Armored Division nearby ultimately did not act, and the Chuckna Forces outside had a few officers negotiating with bandit soldiers at the start of the fight, but ultimately it was fruitless.

In the Hanjing Base that housed the entire Fei Alliance Joint Army, there were only these red-eyed bandit soldiers rampaging recklessly.

Although from the Allies’ perspective, such a scene was somewhat awkward, for the soldiers present who walked the line between life and death, who could be headshot by a stray bullet on the battlefield at any moment, no one thought the bandit army’s actions were wrong.

Protecting one’s own is inherently the nature of an army. A unit that is not internally united will never grow into an elite force.

Everyone understood the anger of the bandit army warriors. Their top Commander, upon arriving in Chuckna, was deliberately attacked by a fighter jet on the first day, his life and death now uncertain.

According to the information received by everyone, that attacked bulletproof military vehicle almost turned to scrap; surviving such an attack without being killed on the spot was already a stroke of luck! If it weren’t for the interior separating the cabin from the cockpit with a partition at the time, forming an enclosed bulletproof space that absorbed most of the missile attack; if it weren’t for the armor-piercing autocannon merely tearing off a piece of Vice Admiral Tian Xingjian’s waist; if it weren’t for the guards in the armored vehicle reacting swiftly with anti-air missiles locking the fighter jet, forcing it unable to perform a second attack...perhaps now, the entire 31st Army Base would have been filled with rivers of blood.

Although there was no direct evidence to accuse Faset, the matter was already clear. Since Faset made such a decision, he must bear the consequences.

Perhaps he never imagined that his 31st Army would be defeated so miserably, so decisively.

But who could have thought? All the military officers present had only regarded the bandit army as a militia composed of Leray and Mars criminals. Even if they knew that some of them had Mechanical God status, and that Free Port’s fighting skills were ahead of other countries’ military, from a military perspective, no one truly took these bandits seriously.

On the screen, a green mecha blocked the fist of the Long Blade in front of it. The mechanical hand skillfully flipped, already grabbing the forearm of the Long Blade. With a swift pull, the elbow struck forward, smashing the head of the Long Blade.

Clean, swift, ruthless. The mecha’s actions were incredibly nimble. As if this wasn’t a battle, but a combat lesson.

With a kick, it knocked down the mecha that had lost combat capability. The bandit mecha pilot ghosted to the back of another Long Blade. Mechanical legs kneed forward, directly hitting the Long Blade’s lower back. Without checking the results, the bandit mecha turned and punched, slamming into the head of an oncoming Long Blade, shattering it into fragments.

All around, three Long Blades lay flat, leaving open ground.

The green mecha stood quietly, its additional armor shimmering with a cold gleam under the sunlight. The vaguely visible transmission rods and gears in the joints moved rapidly, making the still mecha look like an arrow ready to be shot from a fully drawn longbow.

He was a War God with a hand speed of seventy actions.

The national officers had already witnessed him destroying over twenty Long Blades.

Although he stood quietly there, in everyone’s eyes, he appeared as a majestic War God. No one even wanted to entertain the idea of fighting desperately.

And there were over a hundred of such War Gods at this gate!

Thousands of Level 9 and Level 10 Mecha Warriors, hundreds of War Gods; such a team, how terrifying. Just the thought of this team piloting Twelfth Generation Mechas into Canglang Star made everyone tremble with excitement.

The name bandit army will spread across the world after today.

This was their debut in the Fei Alliance Joint Army. Leefer, Faset, the 31st Army will become stepping stones to their unparalleled prestige!

The officers quietly watched as the base was cleared by the bandit army. All Feiyang Mechas were destroyed, all 31st Army officers and soldiers were tied up and thrown onto Transport Mechas.

They simultaneously knew that after making a call, countless national generals were heading to the Chuckna Army General Hospital. From this moment on, Admiral Tian Xingjian, who was once mocked as a fake hero, only needed to lie quietly and accept countless reverent gazes. And the nation of Leray would ascend to a status equal to the Feiyang Republic in everyone’s mind.

It must be noted, there was still a bandit army fleet in the Longbow Star System, and an unknown number of Mecha Warriors at the bandit army headquarters on Mars.

The cleanup proceeded very quickly.

Moments later, a massive convoy, escorted by two armored divisions, began advancing towards the Chuckna Army General Hospital located in the center of Chuckna City.

The outer Chuckna officers hesitated for just two seconds before clearing the road.

The entire base resembled a massive scrap metal recycling yard.

Tatania Major glanced at his watch, looking around at the officers who had long lost the capacity for thought, sighed, and said: ”Leefer, must regret now. In half an hour, the entire Fei Alliance will be detonated.”
