Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1301: Chapter 53: Strangulation

The cold wind brushed through the treetops, the valley was silent.

Fight or not, fight or not?! This was the three words that kept swirling in Fatty’s mind.

Choosing to fight or not to fight may mean life or death for the warriors following him north.

In his previous plan, his intention was to hit the enemy hard, forcing the opposing Commander into making a wrong judgment about their strength. But he never dreamed that the opposing Commander would deploy the elite ”Blade” Special Forces Camp right away!

This is a cunning Commander, calm and cautious.

When he sent a regiment to move west, he simultaneously used his best camp to chase and collide with Baz’s platoon. A methodical planner, once he makes a move, he leaves no retreat for others.

If it was just an ordinary camp, Fatty had full confidence in wiping out the enemy! Even if the opponent was the second-ranked Armored Division of the Jiepeng Royal First Guard, he had no fear.

Among the bandit army mecha pilots under his command, Hagrove, Wagstaff, and Meng Xun, the three War Gods, have long been famous, and with the study of Mecha Martial Arts, they advanced rapidly.

Originally just Mechanical Knights, Baz and others have transformed, surpassing the standards set by those Mecha Commanders of Mars in Mechanical Control. They are younger, and more eager to learn and excel. In the battlefield’s deadly struggle, they are not far behind the three War Gods, sometimes even harsher and quicker in reactions.

As long as the enemy is drawn by Baz, pinned by Cosmo, with seven Mechanical Gods in the vanguard charge, joined by over two hundred Mech Knights and Baz’s hundred Mech Knights in a full-scale assault, even a regiment would collapse.

This, he has no doubt.

Modern warfare’s ground mecha is no longer an era where winning relied solely on numbers or firepower. The importance of mecha performance and pilot skills is increasingly vital. The case where Ryan Republic and Feiyang’s elite Armored Divisions were torn apart and ultimately defeated by Binart’s ten ”Judgers” is proof of this. Leading nine War Gods in a charge all the way here also affirms it.

But instead, they are faced with an entire Special Armored Camp!

Even if he and his twelve-generation mecha-driving War Gods can ensure their lives, what about the warriors behind him?! The upfront enemy must be annihilated, but what price must they pay?!

More importantly, winning this battle does not mean everything ends here.

This group must hold the enemy’s attention and face the fierce pursuit of an entire division. The subsequent battles will not allow any carelessness; if this unit makes the slightest mistake, the enemy might find out there is no main force ahead and dispel the enemy’s illusion. To maintain this misconception means nearly endless fleeing and fighting.

”Commander... the enemy has reached position 132.” Anthony, always by Fatty’s side, reminded, ”Give the order.”

Fatty remained silent.

”Commander...” Anthony called out, then switched the signal to regional communication channel, issuing the order: ”Prepare for combat!”

Following Anthony’s command, over two hundred mechas almost simultaneously activated their combat mode. The sound of hydraulic machinery stretching filled the entire valley, with each mecha suddenly growing larger and taller, ready to strike like a pride of lions.

”The enemy is the Special Camp from Jiepeng 2nd Armored Division,” Anthony seemed to understand Fatty’s thoughts, his words aimed more at Fatty than as a battle mobilization, ”anyone afraid?”

”Afraid? I’m only afraid of not killing enough!”

”I’ve never feared those Jiepeng chicks in my life, Lieutenant Colonel, you’re asking the wrong person.”

The communication channel echoed with warriors’ lively chatter, filled with ease and indifference.

This is the true spirit of putting life and death aside!

”Commander, give the order!” Anthony solemnly stated, ”Chuckna has no cowards!”

Fatty rolled up his sleeves. He had no right to change these warriors’ choices. They were true warriors, deciding to sacrifice for their nation to achieve victory. Any decision against their will was an insult. Chuckna is this way, and Leray was this way too. Someone will always make sacrifices in this war; future peace requires such sacrifice.

Moreover, he had nowhere to retreat now.

Dammit, fight!

Artillery roared. Amid smoke and continuous explosions, the red mecha group battled while retreating. Behind them, black mechas surged crazily up the hills. Looking to both sides revealed Jiepeng Mechas between woods and hills, having crossed the horizon, bouncing swiftly towards the center to converge.

The Jiepeng Armored Camp is determined to trap these Chuckna mecha pilots in the canyon formed by abrupt mountains ahead.

The battle became increasingly fierce, both sides racing through the forested hills.

The last white Thunderbolt blocked the intertwined attacks of two Jiepeng Mechas, a ghostly sidestep position followed by a punch, turning a Spirit Cat into a fireball, then leaping retreating into the red mecha group.
