Chapter 1342: Chapter 78: Myth Shattered (Part 2)_2

On the Ryan Battlefield, there was no position the Leefer Legion couldn’t capture, no defensive line they couldn’t break through.

Their soldiers launched attacks on the frontline time and again without caring about their own casualties. Even when the casualty rate of the entire unit had reached the recognized collapse line of sixty percent, they would still charge forward without hesitation at the command.

In the command post, the officers of the Ryan Republic had the deepest impression of the Leefer commanders who never complained or defended themselves. The execution of discipline was so rigorous that it made people’s scalps tingle.

They said that when their units were supposed to reach the designated location, they would certainly arrive. When they ordered a high ground to be taken, it had to be taken.

Of course, there were times when this couldn’t be achieved. Such situations were not uncommon, and the reason was simple—the troop tasked with executing the orders was entirely wiped out.

Wiped out meant not the standard of ten to twenty percent remaining in ordinary units, but from top to bottom, from the highest commander of the troop to the cook soldier all dying.

This is a Level 1 Forces in such a legion, and these guys who have become emotionless war machines, can be surrounded by a militia force numbering only half of theirs?!

The bandit army has gone mad!

From the beginning, no one had any hopes for the bandit army.

Though there were many legends about the bandit army, some even said that there were quite a number of Advanced Mecha Warriors, and a few Mechanical Gods among their ranks. But these were, after all, just legends. Even senior officers of various units hadn’t seen the legendary battle footage from the Canglang Star. Regarding these rumors, everyone was only half-believing.

Moreover, even with a few Mechanical Gods, in everyone’s opinion, it wouldn’t matter much.

The average mecha warrior of the 31st Army was already nearing the level of Level 7 Mecha Warriors. In the two or three years of great changes in mecha warfare, with a high emphasis on mecha close combat techniques, more Advanced Mecha Warriors have emerged in all countries, and in the 31st Army, at least four Level 8 Mecha Warriors formed a Special Forces Group, and Level 9 Mecha Warriors were not few. Even some of the ace mech warriors had already achieved a capability close to Level 10 Mecha Warriors.

Besides, the Single Soldier Mecha equipped by the 31st Army was provided as the ace division’s gear. On this point, Faset went all out. Ordinary warriors were equipped with Tenth Generation Divine Gift Mechas. The Special Forces Group was equipped with the Eleventh Generation Long Sword.

There was once a legend that a soldier from the 31st Army Special Forces Group, after watching the training of the Double-headed Eagle Unit, calmly said, ”With the same equipment of Eleventh Generation Long Sword, if we fought against them, we would be annihilated after causing them eighty percent casualties. However, on the battlefield, the enemies we’ve obliterated and the strategic gains we’ve achieved would be twice theirs.”

This was just a minor rumor, but it sufficed to indicate that when faced with the 31st Army, which was twice their size, the two armored divisions of the bandit army actually stood no chance.

The base had become incredibly noisy and restless.

The soldiers, during training and rest, most wanted to climb the walls and go to the north side of the base to watch the excitement at the 31st Army Base. However, this was clearly impossible in a strictly managed military base. Therefore, everyone could only envy those companions who could leave through various tasks or by happenstance when on leave, occasionally turning their heads northwards, as if their gazes could penetrate everything to see the imminent confrontation.

Meanwhile, the officers had almost forgotten their duties.

Aside from those handling particularly urgent and important work who were still working with full grievances, every office building in the base was much quieter than usual.

The hustle and bustle were at a few tall buildings outside the 31st Army Base.

Here, officers from various countries greeted each other, engaged in lively discussions, shared various rumors, and opened gambling tables.

The majority bet on the 31st Army to win. However, there were also bets for the bandit army to win. Especially after Hastings publicly endorsed the bandit army, many gamblers, those heavily burdened attempting to risk it all, or those with particularly sympathetic hearts, placed their bets on the bandit army.

Nonetheless, regardless of where the bets were placed, everyone actually hoped the bandit army would win. Even if they hadn’t been slighted or had conflicts with the Feiyang people, human nature still made everyone wish the bandit army could fiercely defeat the arrogant Feiyang people, even though everyone understood that this thought was really a luxury, but it was good to imagine.

”Hasn’t the fight started yet?” A Tatania Major held his coffee, continuously looking down from a balcony of a building in the southeast of the base. A kilometer away, the entire 31st Army encampment was silent. Outside the encampment, all the street intersections visible from this angle were already blocked by the bandit army driving the Fatty Mechas.

Further away, ten Chuckna Armored Divisions were already assembled, awaiting orders. And in the northwest direction adjacent to the encampment of the 31st Army, though it’s a blind spot from this building’s view, everyone knew that a Ryan Armored Division stationed there had similarly raised its alert level to yellow.

”Afraid there won’t be enough chaos?” Major Puditok laughed and critiqued, ”Your kind of thinking is very dangerous. We are gathered here and should find ways to avoid this conflict as much as possible...”
