Chapter 1307: Chapter 55: Annihilation

Under Vego’s command, the entire Second Armored Division swiftly sprang into action.

The hills and forests were a cacophony of noise. The trenches being dug came to a halt, and the newly laid modular metal bulletproof walls were dismantled piece by piece by the Engineering Mechas. Transport Mechas gathered, and the command Mechas of each group and battalion quickly retracted their cabin panels, lowering their mechanical legs. Countless soldiers were rushing to and fro, with assembly whistles echoing in waves.

The Guard Company, led by Vego, swiftly passed through the vast expanse of Jiepeng Mechas and soldiers, heading east at high speed. Simultaneously with the Guard Company’s departure, two battalions of the Fourth Group, which flanked the command group, also urgently mobilized. Nearly a thousand Mechas moved silently like two migrating herds of antelope, flanking the Guard Company where Vego was situated.

Since the electronic systems of the entire Armored Division were interfered with, everyone knew something was amiss. The explosion sounds coming from the east, though faint across nearly ten kilometers of mountainous forest, were still audible.

The Second Armored Division was composed of seasoned soldiers meticulously selected from the Jiepeng Army. Just by listening, they could discern the scale of the battle. The sound of the Blade Camp pursuing the unexpected Chuckna Armored Battalion was definitely not this intense or grand. Even if the Chuckna people were cornered and fought back fiercely, the battle wouldn’t last this long.

When the message came that two battalions of the Second Group were blocked by the enemy at hill 132, everyone understood the predicament of the Blade Camp. Quite possibly, the Blade Camp was facing an entire Armored Group, or even all the armored strength the Chuckna Forces could muster.

These Chuckna people were truly insane. After devouring the 221st and 231st teams, they did not head towards Shuangxi Bridge but instead boldly advanced north, with their forces directly targeting Beiguan City!

It must be so.

After annihilating the 231st team, upon discovering the existence of the Second Armored Division, they concocted this mad plan.

Anyway, defending Shuangxi Bridge Town was futile; it would be better to take this opportunity to slip past the Second Armored Division and head straight for Beiguan City. Whether attacking the Jiepeng Headquarters or turning west to guard the southern suburbs of Beiguan City from the outskirts would be better than moving towards Shuangxi Bridge under the cannons of the Second Armored Division!

This was not the first time this Chuckna unit executed such a maneuver. It was precisely an unexpected flank maneuver by them earlier that allowed them to escape the encirclement of more than twenty divisions, creating the current situation.

It was a mad yet genius plan. The emergence of the Second Armored Division alerted them to Beiguan City’s vulnerability at this moment. If it weren’t for the wide-ranging reconnaissance of the Second Armored Division’s flanks, if not for a reconnaissance squad at the forefront spotting them, perhaps they would have succeeded!

After eliminating the reconnaissance squad, knowing their cover had been blown, the Chuckna people deliberately created a ruse, using a battalion to intentionally crash in. When the Second Armored Division focused on Shuangxi Bridge Town, it was indeed a masterful deception. At that time, Major General Vego almost confirmed this side was merely a diversionary force meant to stir up trouble.

But the Chuckna people didn’t anticipate that regardless of what tricks they played, the cautious Major General Vego dispatched the elite Blade Camp straightforwardly!

If it was merely a decoy, the Blade Camp would make them suffer for their folly. If there was indeed a main force somewhere, then the Blade Camp would thoroughly expose them!

It is now certain beyond doubt, their main force is here!

The sound of gunfire and explosions ahead grew increasingly deafening. The pace of the Guard Company and two battalions of the Third Group quickened. Finally, after crossing a small hill, hill 132 appeared before everyone’s eyes.

Compared to the towering mountains behind, hill 132 was like a child before an adult. Yet, it was this child that blocked the road leading to the canyon. The colossal rocks covered in moss, the dirt slopes exposed with roots and grass stems amid explosions, and the previously lush and dense slope forest, now sparse...this position had the canyon behind it completely barricaded!

The vast Jiepeng Mechas surged upward. Front and side, countless Mechas mounting a frenzied assault were like ants clinging to a giant anthill.

The battle was exceptionally fierce, with two battalions of the Second Group nearly packing the small hill airtight. The Chuckna people, holding the advantage of the terrain, desperately suppressed the mountain’s base with firepower. Whenever a Jiepeng Mecha approached the position, a dozen Chuckna Mechas, led by three White Mechas, would desperately charge to repulse them, forcibly driving back the advancing Jiepeng Mechas.

Black waves surged forward, crashing against the white rocks and shattering, retreating.

Even though they were enemies, the Jiepeng Mechas still watched, mesmerized and shaken. The three White Mechas maneuvered nimbly up and down the slopes, no matter how many enemies surged forward, they just charged and slashed. Those Mechas seemingly imbued with life, their mechanical motions more seamless, more fluid, more supple than the human body.

On the uneven slope, amid the wreckage of Mechas and craters, they still moved as if on flat ground, leaping like the wind.

Level 3 Upper Step Punch, Level 4 Left-Spinning Side Kick, Level 5 Backward Jumping Through, Level 6 Semicircular Step, Level 7 Five-Punch Combo followed by Jumping Eagle Strike, and the legendary Level 8 Small Plate Rotation...these techniques, already jaw-dropping, along with many more intricate skills, many couldn’t even recognize, let alone have seen before.

Even more incredible, one of those White Mechas pulled a dozen Phantoms from within the Mecha Group! Wherever the Phantoms passed, chaos ensued!

What astonishing Mecha technology, what overwhelming power?!

Some turned to glance at the Anubis in the Guard Mecha Company...as a Level 10 Mecha Warrior with hand speed exceeding sixty actions per second, Vego was an idol for everyone in the Second Armored Division. The Mecha he piloted had stood countless times on hills like today, gazing over the battlefield like an eagle.

Countless times, at the most crucial moments of the battle, that Mecha would dive down, leading the Second Armored Division in a blitzing charge, with absolute power smashing the enemy lines, vanquishing the strongest enemy Mech Knights, shattering their courage and confidence, causing the most tenacious enemy to scatter, wail, and submit!

But today, as he stands here, facing those three invincible White Mechas, could he still do as he had before?!

The question, almost emerging in his mind, already had the answer.

Even the Empire’s claim of having entered the ranks of the Eleventh Generation Mecha with ”Anubis,” even a Level 10 Mecha Warrior like Vego, is no match for those White Mechas!

Present were Level 6 and Level 7 Mecha Warriors, and there were a few Level 9 Mecha Warriors in the Guard Company. How could they possibly not see the terror of these White Mechas!

This is not a difference of Level 1 or Level 2; it is completely a difference in realms!

No one present could have the confidence to withstand three moves under the lethal means displayed by the White Mechas. This feeling is like an elementary student facing a powerful boxer! Apart from fear, trembling, and despair, the mind is left utterly blank!

Looking at Anubis quietly standing at the mountaintop, yet making no move, everyone could understand Vego’s mood at this moment.

It was the humiliation and anger of a mountain king who discovers he is merely a monkey, of a frog that owns the entire sky but finds it has been living in a well!

The attack by the Second Group was thwarted once again. The tide of Jiepeng Mechas retreated, leaving only the burning wrecks of Mechas, spread across the entire hillside.

Watching the retreating Second Group, gazing at the smoke-filled mountain top, everyone fell silent. Time ticked by, suddenly, Vego roared, and Anubis charged down the mountain.

In the midst of Vego’s roar, the overwhelming Jiepeng Mechas surged towards Position 132.

As if sensing something amiss, the two battalions of the retreating Second Group clumsily turned around under the urging of the officers, stumbling and shoving their way towards High Ground 132.

This time, there was no resistance, no opposition..... the dark wave of Jiepeng Mechas surged up the mountain.

Standing atop the now empty makeshift position, the leading Jiepeng Mechas stopped in their tracks as if frozen by some immobilizing magic. Despite the pushing and jostling from the comrades behind, they remained foolishly still.

Vego slowly walked onto the position from within the parted Mecha Group. The smoke in the air obscured the surrounding view, on the hillside, burning wrecks of Mechas and the bodies of Mech Knights were scattered everywhere, some black, some red, but most were black. The Second Group had lost at least a company of troops here!

The Spirit Cat, Fushan, and the scarred medium and heavy Mechas made way. Watching their division commander walk up the position, standing at the highest point of Position 132.

Looking back from the position, the left and right sides, one was a high ridge line, the other, though smaller, was steep.

A not-so-broad, and not deemed critical, canyon appeared in view.

Perhaps, it shouldn’t be called a canyon, rather......hell!

Countless Mechas lay sprawled indiscriminately in the canyon, from one end all the way to the slightly raised other end until obscured by the turning hillside and the canopy of fallen tree crowns, making it indistinct.

A Spirit Cat Mecha was broken in two on the ground, its upper body fiercely burning, emitting thick smoke, while its lower half was mangled, its mechanical legs indistinguishable, visible only as a pile of twisted debris. Next to this Mecha, were three other Spirit Cat Mechas, some facing south, others facing north, parts of their bodies overlapping, forming a five to six-meter high pile of scrap metal.

Centrally in this scrap pile, spreading outward, is the same wreckage of Mechas. There are black Jiepeng Mechas and red Chuckna Mechas. No signs of life, only fierce fires, dark smoke, occasional explosions, and the sound of cracking tree trunks in the wind on both sides.

The most concentrated wrecks were in the center of the canyon. Even near Position 132, there were quite a few wrecks. Among the wrecks, several bronzed Anubis stood out. These Mechas were almost all facing downward, the direction of fatal attacks also mostly at the sides and back. Clearly, these Mechas were killed during their final escape.

A wind swept through, even in the tightly closed Mecha cockpit, everyone still felt a piercing chill.

In the Royal First Guard’s Second Armored Battalion, the strongest, most elite Blade Special Camp....

All annihilated!
