Counterfeit Hero

Therefore, despite the manufacturing environment and material equipment limitations, when [Heng Dao] was finally finalized, it firmly stood at the pinnacle of the eighth generation military mecha during the testing evaluations.

An eighth generation top mecha against a sixth generation mecha modified with private mecha—just thinking about it made Fatty’s nose bubble. The initial thought of rolling around and cursing upon seeing so many mechas had long been pushed to the back of his mind. So what if there are many? Sperm count is high too!

A pervert wandering the world, the important thing is physique!

Furthermore, in his hands, he still held the ace that absolutely no one in this world had right now!

To make those hesitant factions in the Free World focus their eyes here, a victory that one cannot look away from must be achieved.

Wipe out the opponent completely! Only such a victory would be sensational enough!

Opening the simulation system of the mechanical computer, Fatty laughed with drool dripping.

”Motherfucker!”

”Cowards always find reasons for themselves.”

”When evil breaches the psychological defenses, even the most noble person becomes a demon.”

”Selfishness is one of humanity’s most despicable natures. When the selfish find enough reasons, their faces become holier than those of saints.”

In the Leray Capital of Ludelit, a Gabonese man knelt devoutly in a small, wind-leaking tent by the street, praying and reciting the Gabonese Bible—”Redemption.”

Outside the tent, tens of thousands of protestors surged and clamored. In the distance, police sirens sounded intermittently.

The murmured reading of the scripture continued.

”God said, human sin comes from endless desire. When greed fills a world without restraint, the world will be destroyed. Humanity will massacre each other in the abyss of desire, using blades and blood to place themselves on the altar.”

”A new world is about to arrive.”

The protests in the Leray Capital had spread to all cities on the Capital Star.

The opposition party was vigorously guiding the public to vent their disappointment and anger. Guiding them to turn cowardice into a form of righteousness.

Meanwhile, in Lucerne, in Miloke.

All cities remained silent.

In these cities, people who had endured war watched coldly on TV as those demonstrators, demanding peace in the name of justice, protested. They couldn’t understand why the people in the capital, who had initially been so high-spirited without having experienced war, suddenly changed their stance without warning.

Was it just because the war was about to come to their doorstep?

The anti-war wave, under the guise of justice, grew more and more intense. The indulged baseness of human nature also began to undergo drastic changes.

Even though those who initially participated in the protests did so with some concealment and trepidation, when individuals merged into the crowd of hundreds of thousands, things that originally felt shameful turned into truths worth defending with their lives under repeated lies.

Under the rolling martyr posters on the streets, they hysterically attacked demonstrators who supported resisting to the end and the President. They turned their inner fears into violent outbursts onto others.

June 4th, 2063.

The situation in the Leray Capital worsened. President Hamilton, after delivering a national televised speech, announced martial law to disperse the demonstrators.

On the same day, the three-party coalition led by the Progressive Society held a meeting, unanimously demanding early parliamentary and presidential elections.

June 5th, 2063.

The puppet government supported by Jiepeng announced the secession of the seven states of the Bermuda Star Domain from the Leray Federation.

On the same day, the Jiepeng Republic, Desic Republic, and Suss Republic simultaneously issued ultimatums to Leray, demanding that Leray immediately cease resistance, open the Leray Channel, and restructure the government. To reinforce the credibility of the ultimatum, the Jiepeng Republic and Desic Republic’s mixed fleets simultaneously launched warning attacks on the western and eastern jump points of the Central Leray Star Domain.

June 6th, 2063. The opposition party enumerated President Hamilton’s charges and launched another rally. They called for an independent judicial department to investigate President Hamilton for embezzling military funds and requested Congress to impeach Hamilton for dereliction of duty, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.

Although the opposition’s demands were immediately rejected by the House representatives, the opposition successfully pushed Hamilton to the peak of the storm.

On the same night, numerous army units assembled in the East District and West District of Ludelit City, as well as in Yaxingke City, and engaged in abnormal maneuvers.

Leray, swaying in the storm.
