Counterfeit Hero

Fatty focused intently on the long-range viewer screen, recalling all the events that had happened along the way. For a moment, various thoughts flooded his mind.

The Suss Empire had already stationed themselves in the Saleria Longbow Star System. The time left before they converged with the Jiepeng Empire and the Desic Empire for a combined attack on the Jump Point of Leray Central Star Domain was running out.

Leray was facing collapse!

In such a dire situation, apart from this risky maneuver, he couldn’t think of a quicker way.

Humiliating Kubo, destroying Monroe, killing Gandi, then kicking the Nine Halls one after another to stir up a trend among the sects—wasn’t all this painstaking planning for this very day?

This was a tough battle, one he couldn’t retreat from nor afford to lose. Even if he was nailed to Puluo Town’s chaotic situation as a nail, he wouldn’t give an inch!

The Sect Mutual Aid Alliance was already under the public’s watchful eye. Those small sects and organizations unsettled in the chaos were observing and waiting. At this moment, they were like trickling streams cut off, trapped and drying under the scorching sun. Once they figured out that the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance was a way out, they would converge through this gap, becoming an unstoppable surging river!

What he needed to do now was to win this war!

If he lost, he could only withdraw from Mars Free Port in disgrace.

If he won, he would be qualified to take the next step!

The long-range viewer was being adjusted, zooming in bit by bit. Fatty’s gaze meticulously examined every detail of the Red Mecha.

The chest, head, arms, and limbs. A sly smile appeared at the corners of Fatty’s mouth.

In terms of understanding Mechas, there were very few mechanics in the world more knowledgeable than Tian Xingjian. Especially after studying Casper’s work journal, Fatty’s mechanical expertise had reached an unbelievable level. As a former Mechanical Repair Soldier, he was insatiable in his hunger for all knowledge related to electronic mechanics, for it was the foundation of his survival!

Although he didn’t have the [Logic] structure scanning device, such close observation was more than enough for Fatty to know a lot of things.

These Red Mechas were obviously not military Mechas from any country. Like the sects, they were modified private Mechas using the resources available in this world, just slightly more advanced. Their onboard cannons were energy-fired metal mixed cannons. These mixed cannons had limited ammunition and destructive power. The energy shields were also imitations, using energy dispersers from ordinary spacecraft engine circuits as shield probes.

Compared to the sect Mechas still using old-fashioned projectile weapons, these Mechas already possessed Level 1 long-range attack capabilities in terms of range, accuracy, and destructiveness. This capability would be exponentially magnified in collective attacks, and at the very least, ordinary private Mechas wouldn’t be able to resist them.

However, Fatty didn’t take these Mechas seriously. By military Mecha standards, these Mechas were only at the level of Leray’s 6th Generation Mechas—even this assessment was generous due to their close combat capabilities.

Fatty scratched his belly contentedly. This was going to be easy! Who would have known that on this planet, there were a hundred and twenty standard military-equipped Eighth Generation Mechas!

[Heng Dao] being Fatty’s labor of love wasn’t an exaggeration at all.

In the beginning, to build the ground armored forces of the bandit army, Fatty decided from the start to use the best things he could find. Therefore, his first pick was the Human-shaped Mechas [Fallen Angel] bought by Barbarossa for the Pillage Group.

[Fallen Angel] was the classic product of the Mars Free Port Dragonhawk Mecha Company. Extremely fast, with strong explosive power and excellent coordination. Most importantly, this Mecha had great modification potential. Back when Barbarossa, a Dragonhawk Mecha fan, bought this batch of [Fallen Angel] Mechas, it cost a lot. Who would have known that within two months, they would fall into the hands of the usurping Fatty.

Fatty modified the [Fallen Angel] according to the [Divine] path. In other words, this fat thief transplanted the classic [Divine] design he had stolen onto the [Fallen Angel].

Composite link suspension appearing on the Tenth Generation Mecha, engine circuit accelerators, single-arm universal wheel drive rods, muscle-mimicking protective fillers, three-point compressed auxiliary thrusters... Everything that could be imitated, Fatty didn’t miss a single one. After adaptive adjustments, they were transplanted onto the [Fallen Angel].

In modern mechanical design, the most important thing is the idea! While creating these things was tough, imitating them was a breeze for Fatty.

Of course, things that were too precise to be manufactured with the bandit hideout’s equipment, such as radar, scanners, bio-assisted control systems, and some designs lacking materials, had to be reluctantly abandoned. He lamented this for a long time. If it were in Leray, these things would only take more time to make.

As for the critical engine part, since it didn’t match the [Divine] engine design, besides borrowing the engine accelerator, Fatty decided to start from scratch, using Casper’s work journal as guidance, combined with his own understanding of various Mechas, to redesign an engine.

This engine was also the key point of [Heng Dao]! The power it provided was enough to turn an agile private Mecha like the [Fallen Angel] into a rampaging Fierce Beast!
