Counterfeit Hero

His gaze involuntarily fell upon those fifty unfamiliar yet menacing Mechas guarding outside the Mechanical Armor Hall. Geoffrey and Sankey exchanged a glance with Weii Jianshan. They knew what each other were thinking.

Those thoughts were becoming clearer.

Putting aside the control techniques Fatty held, just considering the current situation after breaking with Kubo, there was no room for hesitation anymore. To survive in the Free World, they had to depend on a sufficiently powerful ally.

And that ally, besides the Fei Alliance represented by Fatty, seemed to have no other choice.

Watching Sankey and Weii Jianshan nod slightly, Geoffrey adjusted his attire and walked towards the main entrance of the Mechanical Armor Hall. He decided to agree to all of Fatty’s conditions. There was no room left for hesitation. If it weren’t for Fatty, they would have long been wiped out!

Inside the Mecha cockpit.

Helen was blushing as she applied medicine to Fatty’s back.

Eleven wounds, six on the back, four on the legs, and one on the butt.

Fatty didn’t seem the least bit embarrassed, lying there stark naked and moaning in exaggerated agony. Moan away, call out in pain if you like, but that scoundrel’s moans sounded more like he was enjoying himself.

Yet the more he moaned, the more Helen wanted to cry.

The medicine was Leray Army’s blood-stopping ointment. Without a treatment pod, simple first aid was all they could manage for now.

Some of the shrapnel had already been removed. The flesh around the wounds was red and exposed to the bone. Besides the wounds, there were few patches of intact skin left on his back. Almost all were abrasions and burns from high temperatures.

Just looking at the injuries made Helen feel overwhelmed.

If it hadn’t been for him shielding her back then, she...

Thinking about it made Helen’s tears start streaming down uncontrollably.

”Why the hell did I jump in front of you back then?” Fatty muttered, growing more confused and scared as he thought about it. Jumping on a woman without taking his pants off was something he’d never done in his life. From pervert to Hero, how could he hold his head high from now on?

In self-pity, a teardrop fell on him.

”Um... um... I’m saying...” Hearing Helen sob, Fatty moaning and all turned his head, muttering, ”Why are you crying? Everyone would think I did something to you.”

”You...” Helen wiped her tears away, feeling both shy and anxious. ”Can you stop sounding so unpleasant?”

”Ow, my god... Ah...” Fatty’s nostrils and mouth widened as he let out a prolonged groan, eyes reddening. ”You think I want to? It damned hurts.”

”Colonel Tian!” came Markovich’s voice from the Mecha communicator, ”Someone wants to see you.”

”See me?” Fatty, stark naked, climbed up and looked outside, spotting Tai Sect’s Fourth Elder Geoffrey standing below the Mecha.

”Exhibitionist!” Barely holding herself together from Fatty’s shamelessness, Helen threw a towel at Fatty furiously, blushing as she yelled, ”Cover up!”

Fatty turned back, catching the towel Helen threw. He grinned foolishly.

”Gotta protect the kitty, can’t show it to just anyone.”

He carefully covered his upper body with the towel.

A scream echoed inside the Mecha.

In the midst of the scream, Fatty pondered whether Geoffrey’s request to see him meant he had finally taken the most critical step in violently seizing Mars Free Port?

Which sect was next?

Phantom Stream.

The vast Star Domain, boundless and endless.

Even with the stars densely surrounding one’s vision, in the vast expanses of the universe, people could only feel the awe for the infinite emptiness and an irrepressible sense of loneliness.

[Magic Cube], surrounded by nine warships, floated quietly in the deep, mysterious void. Everyone aboard the warships was busy; apart from the intelligence liaison officer, radar operators, and telescope observers intensely watching space, everyone else carried on with their respective tasks. Now was not the time for idle thoughts.

This fleet, composed of pirates, soldiers, and brand new warships, was about to face their first battle.

After rigorous preparations, it was finally time to act.

The stronghold of Demon’s Eye had been long discovered. But apart from Demon’s Eye, other pirate groups were also involved. These pirate groups had participated in the act of lending ships to the Western Alliance for their attack on Leray’s delegation. They had received destroyers or cruisers from the Western Alliance.

In Mars Free Port, this was no longer a secret. Various pirate groups under major sects flaunted these warships in the Free Star System, showcasing their might and intimidating rivals.

These were the first batch of military warships to enter the Free World after its prohibition had been broken by war. Their symbolic significance was greater than their actual combat power. It meant that sects possessing these warships had already left other forces behind in the upcoming reshuffling.

Aside from their combat power and origins, these warships alone were significant enough. Many pirate groups that were active in Mars Free Port had either withdrawn or were planning to leave this Star Domain.

The plan to attack Demon’s Eye had been refined again and again, and delayed until now, to prevent these dog followers of the Western Alliance from joining forces.

Only when a Sect War breaks out will they celebrate the downfall of other pirate groups instead of worrying about mutual destruction!
