Counterfeit Hero

All night long, the lights in the main halls of the Absolute Kill Stream and the Mountain Breaker Sect were on.

The reporters waiting in the cold wind hadn’t gotten any news. However, capturing the stern, iron-blue faces of those coming in and out of the Mechanical Armor Hall from both factions was enough to make a timely program to keep the ratings up.

Even the program’s name had already been decided by the reporters.

”Two Great Factions Researching Countermeasures All Night, Potential Revenge on Tai Sect”

Few other factions paid attention. Only Mountain Breaker and Absolute Kill could really challenge Tai Sect. If Absolute Kill and Mountain Breaker decided to retaliate and gained the upper hand, other factions might send people to join in the melee. If Absolute Kill and Mountain Breaker decided to swallow their pride, then these smaller factions would definitely not step forward to fight the Tai Sect. Anyway, they were minor factions, and the real humiliation would fall on Absolute Kill and Mountain Breaker.

Everyone was waiting.

A reporter, eager to stir up chaos, even posted a copy of the Mars Daily on the door of Absolute Kill Stream.

”He said, if you don’t fight back, you’re pigs.”

The large scarlet headline was striking and offensive.

”I say we send everyone out today and challenge every Tai Sect branch!” roared a bearded man in the Absolute Kill Stream conference room: ”I don’t believe these incompetents have really become a force to be reckoned with!”

As a Level 3 Mecha War God of Absolute Kill Stream, Hariman always spoke and acted directly, exuding an unstoppable bravado.

Unfortunately, the conference room was dead silent. No one echoed Hariman’s words.

The issue wasn’t whether to fight or not.

For both Absolute Kill Stream and Mountain Breaker Sect, there was no turning back. They had to strike back. The problem was who would lead the charge against Tai Sect’s Puluo Branch? Who could guarantee absolute victory? Avoiding Puluo Branch would be a blow to their pride.

The Tai Sect was a fierce wolf, not easily taken down and quick to retaliate.

What was their follow-up move after this provocation? Would a rash challenge play right into their hands?

No one knew the answers to these questions.

The sky outside was already brightening.

Everyone turned their gaze to Kirburn, the Sect Master of Absolute Kill Stream, sitting at the head of the table. At forty-six years old, he had held the title of the top Level 1 Mecha War God in the civilian mecha fighting world for sixteen years. He was the stabilizer of Absolute Kill Stream. Only he could make the final judgment.

All speculations and hypothetical scenarios had been discussed. What they needed now was a decision.

”We cannot focus on Mountain Breaker Sect,” Kirburn quietly said, watching the repeated battle footage on the virtual screen, his eyes flashing with determination: ”Ranked first, we can’t afford any retreat from this provocation.”

”If we are to fight, Tai Sect must have no chance to retaliate!” Kirburn coldly smiled, confident in the power he controlled: ”Whether it be the Western Alliance or the Fei Alliance, people are watching this conflict. The loser will be out. But for now, Mars Free Port is still our domain. So I decide, all branches, challenge all Tai Sect branches simultaneously. Order the Absolute Kill Army to assemble and prepare for action...”

Although they had anticipated this day, every member of Absolute Kill Stream present couldn’t help but feel a shock to their hearts.

Everyone understood the significance of the Absolute Kill Army.

Under the claws of this fierce tiger, not just Tai Sect would be shredded.

Once they engaged, it would be an all-out effort.

This was a war!

Either Absolute Kill Stream would disappear from this day forward, or they would soar, leaving nothing but top positions without any second or third places....

”Kirburn is more impatient than we are.”

In the Mountain Breaker Sect conference room, the atmosphere was much more relaxed than the reporters outside in the cold could imagine. Having inherited his father’s position as Sect Master two years ago, Little Boksar gently blew on the floating tea leaves in his cup, speaking unhurriedly.

If it weren’t for these two years where Mountain Breaker Sect firmly kept Tai Sect in second place, almost no one would believe that this thirty-year-old youth, with only the title of Level 3 Mecha Commander, could lead the Mountain Breaker Sect.

His calm demeanor was easily mistaken for incompetence.

But only the core members of Mountain Breaker Sect knew that what distinguished Little Boksar from his father, Old Boksar, was that Little Boksar was never a true Mech Knight. Even though he had the title of Level 3 Mecha Commander, he spent less than a tenth of the time on mechanical control compared to other Level 3 commanders.

In some sense, Little Boksar was a true genius.

Unfortunately, he had no interest in mechanical control. His interest lay in mecha design and manufacturing. He was one of the few grandmaster-level mechanics in the Free World.

After Old Boksar’s death, he became the new Sect Master of the Mountain Breaker Sect—the lowest-ranked in mecha control but the most respected in the sect’s history.

No one dared underestimate Boksar. His insight, vision, and strategy not only advanced the Mountain Breaker Sect but also innovated and enhanced the sect’s mechanical control techniques through his leadership in mecha design and manufacturing. Everyone admired and respected him.
