Counterfeit Hero

”Yes, President.” The intelligence officer said respectfully, ”Their appearance at this time is quite unusual. Our people are closely monitoring them. However, the strength of this fleet seems unlikely to impact the situation at the Free Port, and they typically avoid interacting with sects and dislike getting involved between the Western Alliance and the Fei Alliance. Therefore, we are currently unaware of their purpose.”

”Heh. Airport 13 and Airport 18.” Selwal sneered, pointing at the document, ”Look at the airspace where they appeared. Barbarossa is trying to cause trouble for Steelman. That guy is notoriously vengeful. The Free Port has been betting on the battle between Demon’s Eye and Redbeard, and his odds have always been far behind Steelman’s. This proud Overlord of the Golden Triangle Star Domain must be seething with anger. Steelman, having acquired the Western Alliance Cruiser, has been searching for his base, spreading the word, and provoking him. If Barbarossa doesn’t take this opportunity to create some trouble for Demon’s Eye, I’d suspect he’s planning to pack up and return to his Triangle Star Domain.”

”The main forces of Demon’s Eye are currently all gathered in the Mars Star System.” The intelligence officer nodded, ”They and the Tai Sect are in the same boat. Steelman must now fully support Kubo in capturing control of the Free Port. At this time, Barbarossa swaggering into the Mars Star System must be giving Steelman quite the headache.”

”It’s just a bunch of bumpkins fighting.” Selwal sneered, ”A few gangs of thugs swinging knives and guns, a few mercenary armies equipped with only light weapons, a few fleets formed of civilian ships, thinking they can seize control of the Free Port. These sect bumpkins are too naive.”

Continuing to browse the documents, Selwal’s face slowly darkened.

If the battle between the Fierce Bear Association and the Gray Wolf Gang was just a fight among thugs, if the forces gathered by the various major sects were just a rabble still stuck in the primitive accumulation of interests, then the last person in the intelligence report and the force he controlled had to give Selwal a serious sense of threat.

Su Kezhou and his Longxing Association! This Chuckna immigrant, along with his Longxing Association deeply marked by Chuckna influences, were definitely not a mere rabble.

Intelligence indicated that the Red Flag Fleet and the Green Flag Fleet of the Longxing Association had already left the Mars Free Port, their whereabouts unknown. And the most powerful ground force under the Longxing Association, the Han Cavalry Mecha Corps, had also fully mobilized to guard Longxing Association’s industrial zones and transportation hubs in various port cities.

The vast Longxing Association, of course, had much more strength than just this. However, the Northern Commerce Alliance could only acquire this much information.

The brevity of the intelligence gave Selwal a sense of foreboding.

”Deploy more personnel, closely monitor the movements of the Longxing Association!” Selwal looked at the rising smoke in the distance outside the window, after a long silence, he resolutely commanded, ”Order the Blood Wing Fleet to immediately investigate the whereabouts of the Red and Green Flag Fleets of the Longxing Association, dispatch the Blood Shadow Mecha Group to cut off the routes between Bering Port, Hidden Dragon Port, and Central City. Until the sect war in Central City ends, not a single soldier of the Longxing Association is to be allowed in!”

”Yes!”

In the distance, the thick smoke billowed, reaching the sky.

That was the direction of Puluo Town.

The pupils that contracted fiercely were not only those of Nakagawa Daiki. Every person on Puluo First Avenue was the same.

When dozens of mechas charged towards Hariman and the three Absolute Kill Stream Mechas guarding him from the intersection of First Avenue and Second Avenue like a tide, no one could conceal their shock.

”The Tai Sect Technique is characterized by its strength, the mechas used by their Mech Knights are bulky. To enhance speed and burst power, they commonly adopt a twin-engine and twin auxiliary thruster structure. Thus, in short-range sprints, they have an advantage. However, this also means their energy consumption is huge, extended full-strength combat is their disadvantage.”

This is a summary from the book ”Comprehensive Guide to Civilian Mecha Styles” about modern mechas developed based on the Tai Sect Technique characteristics. This is also the general impression of everyone about Tai Sect Mechas.

At this moment, the mechas rushing out from the intersection, although their models were unknown, their bulky frames and lightning speed, coupled with the dual exhaust of their auxiliary thrusters, unmistakably revealed the identity of these mysterious mechas!

”Kubo actually dared to act so boldly!”

Besides Kubo and Nakagawa Daiki, the same thought flashed through everyone’s mind rapidly. Even the three elders and Tai Sect disciples standing at the branch hall door were no exception.

The major sects have always been at odds. When the war in the Southeast Star Domain had profoundly affected this planet, everyone knew it was only a matter of time before the sects turned against each other. However, due to the complex forces at the Free Port, no one had the assurance to completely swallow all their opponents, and thus, the matter had been dragging on.

No one expected that this long-anticipated day would arrive so tangibly.

”Just as expected!”

”Kubo is crazy!”

”So despicable, so ruthless!”

Amid the exclamations, three Absolute Kill Stream Mechas that had been on alert quickly shielded Hariman. Meanwhile, from the mecha and flying car group not far away, more than a dozen Absolute Kill Stream Mechas, which had been secretly protecting, quickly charged to support.

Puluo Town’s First Avenue is four kilometers long and nearly three hundred meters wide. On either side of the street are towering skyscrapers and even taller Space Cities. These buildings are almost all made of alloy shear wall structures. This is to withstand the frequent crustal activities on Mars Planet. Compared to this long street and the magnificent buildings, humans, flying cars, and mechas were nothing more than ants crawling under giant trees.
