Counterfeit Hero

The shipyard of the Redbeard Pirate Base is right next to the port modified from the Space Station.

The entire shipyard is actually based on two large barges, plus two giant horseshoe-shaped automatic repair racks. Through three automatic floating elevators and one large landing gear, they connect to the rotating arm of the Space Station.

Drifting in the universe, pirates have astonishing adaptability and creativity in some aspects. Their living environment determines that they cannot have anything too formal. Everything can only be improvised on existing equipment.

This shipyard also follows the tradition and skills of the pirates. Although it looks simple, its functions are not much worse than those in the Federation’s Space Port.

The shipyard can not only repair and modify four warships simultaneously but, since it is made up of mobile components, there is no limit on the size of the ships. Even if an aircraft carrier comes, as long as there are corresponding parts and technology, the barges can be separated and modified for repairs and assembly.

Simple and practical.

Helen stood on the highest inspection platform of the shipyard, filming attentively.

Shot one was aimed straight at the high trapezoidal repair rack, which was crawling with repair personnel and Repair Mechas. They were busily at work, with the clanging and shouting unceasing. Transport Mechas and mini transport vehicles shuttled back and forth, delivering huge parts or mini containers to the cargo platform of the repair rack.

Shot two filmed the innermost part of the shipyard, the processing area, which was also exceptionally lively. Metal forming machines, high-energy furnaces, precision lathes, cutters, welders, and various other machines were aligned in rows, emitting thunderous noises and blinding lights.

The main shot was fixed on the four ship positions of the shipyard. In the horseshoe-shaped bays, four deformed ships were standing quietly in pairs. Huge reciprocating rotators moved back and forth beside them, continuously adjusting the angles of the automatic assembly robotic arms under the ships under computer command.

In the middle of the shipyard was a square four-sided electronic screen. The blue screens displayed the data and modification diagrams of the ships. Next to each ship position, there were dozens of small touch screens, where numerous engineers in white clothes squeezed in to check information and data.

Was this the lifeless and dilapidated pirate base from a few days ago?

Helen’s gaze never left shot three. In the shot, Fatty was driving a Repair Mecha without a cockpit cover. As he operated fluidly, the simple Repair Mecha was quickly installing an array radar on the bow of a warship.

The radar was taken from the Blue Rose, but the warship was not the Blue Rose.

Helen raised her head and sneaked a glance at Chekov beside her, then bit her lip hard.

Every time she saw Chekov’s livid face, Helen couldn’t help laughing.

This captain of the Federation Destroyer had now become one in name only—the Fatty had dismantled the entire Blue Rose!

In the current shipyard, one of the four parked ships was the Blue Rose. But if you hadn’t been watching the ship all along, no one would recognize it. Chekov’s most cherished rose was now reduced to a solitary skeleton. Inside it, some people were slowly dismantling the bottom compartment’s bulkheads under Chekov’s fiery gaze...

No wonder Chekov was heartbroken. This was a new Federation Destroyer worth nearly seven billion Leray Yuan, and it had been in service for less than a year! Any captain would find it unbearable.

But it had to be dismantled. According to Fatty, if they were to become pirates, the Blue Rose could not be exposed—driving a new Federation Destroyer to rob would be suicidal! People were just waiting for such a chance! So… Chekov, better mourn now.

At that time, when Fatty said this, they almost got into a fight.

Not only did Chekov, who was livid, not understand, but no one else, including the pirates, understood.

This was a military ship! It was the most formidable warship in this pirate base. Dismantling this ship, were they supposed to use those Armed Merchant Ships or raiders to rob military ships?

That wouldn’t be suicidal, it’d be seeking death.

Chekov pounded the table and confronted Fatty: ”Anyone who dares touch my ship, I’ll fight to the death with them!”

Fatty turned his head away, drooping his eyelids, dragging his dead fish eyes like Garfield from the cartoons.

Helen thought about it, biting her lips in pain but couldn’t hold back her laughter.

The words were still ringing in the ears, but the Blue Rose had already become a skeleton. And it didn’t look like Chekov had fought Fatty to the death.

”What are you laughing at…” Chekov glared at Helen angrily: ”If it weren’t for that Fatty swearing to modify a super battleship I’ve never seen in my life, would I let him touch my ship?”

”Super battleship?” Helen couldn’t help but laugh and cry as she looked at the warship where Fatty was jumping around in the Repair Mecha—that thing could be called a warship, even a super battleship?

To call that thing a ship was barely acceptable to Helen, it was just a pile of junk! She doubted whether it could move once built!

But this pile of junk, back when Fatty produced a construction drawing, had already driven everyone crazy. The mechanics, engineers, mechanic soldiers, those trained mechanical experts, and experts in warships from the country, even the newly freed pirates with heads hanging low, made a ruckus along with them.
