Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 562: Volume 6 Chapter 39 Bring Him Back

On a mountain full of trees within the game, a Magic Beast Mecha was sneaking down the ridge stealthily. The Mecha moved silently and agilely, even Fatty would be astonished.

In [Logic], the little kid, who followed Fatty through countless battles and even took over the control program of the mechanical computer, perfectly mimicked Fatty’s movements!

Several shabby system Mechas were wandering on the slope and at the foot of the mountain. These Mechas, circling back and forth, holding Energy Cannons or ion light sabers, were the monsters in the game.

The little kid disdained fighting monsters for parts. It had cursed at this low-intelligence game setting countless times.

Fighting people was way more fun. To collect parts, robbing players was the best. This was how Fatty used to do it. As Fatty’s successor, Pipi naturally had to carry forward this tradition.

On the first day in the game, the little kid robbed over six hundred people, getting hold of more than eight hundred parts. Now, the entire game forum was filled with posts condemning it. Countless players organized themselves to hunt it down. Thinking about so many people paying attention to it, the little kid was so proud that it danced with joy.

After thousands of years of loneliness, the hardships finally paid off.

Carefully avoiding a skeleton-like old-fashioned [Undead Walker] Mecha, the little kid found its target.

It was a [Waning Moon] Mecha, a girl-style Mecha very popular among female players in the game. Not only did it have an angelic, feminine appearance, but its combat power was also on par with other Mechas of the same level.

The little kid loved robbing female players the most. Such fragrant heists sounded so cultured.

After several intense fights, [Waning Moon] finally defeated a golden [Undead Walker] King. The system dropped a variety of Mecha parts all over the place, indicating it was time to gather them.

[Waning Moon] did not immediately start gathering parts. On the contrary, she was even more vigilant than during the battle. She looked around for a long time, ensured no one was around, then bent down to start gathering.

The little kid couldn’t even remember how many [Waning Moon] Mechas it had robbed. But this time, it did not hesitate at all.

The Magic Beast crouched its butt, moving like a sinister wind towards the graceful back of [Waning Moon]....

A month later.

When Fatty completed a phase of his research and logged into [Sky-Filling Fire], even he, with his thick nerves, couldn’t help but be shocked.

A street rat couldn’t begin to describe Fatty’s popularity. The bustling hall of the Central Observation Room fell into dead silence the moment Fatty logged in. All eyes focused on him. Those eyes looked like they wanted to swallow him alive.

The information wall in the center of the hall was filled with posts denouncing SM01314, scrolling so fast in countless numbers that they couldn’t be counted.

Fatty casually clicked on a post.

”A whole month. A nightmare of a month.”

”That Magic Beast Mecha ran rampant through the endless deserts, forests, and sand dunes of [Sky-Filling Fire]. It appeared like a shadow behind every Mecha player, reaching out its sinister Magic Palm to commit its crimes!”

”Countless people searched for its trace, trying to catch it. Many times, we nearly succeeded. But in the end, it always escaped the encirclement, only to retaliate even more fiercely!”

”Although everyone was reluctant to admit it, although it sounded absurd, after the month-long nightmare ended, I sadly realized this wasn’t a battle of a million against one, but a game where one toyed with a million.”

”And I was the most miserable person in this game. Boohoo.... I was robbed by that bastard sixty-three times! ... I’m going to study hard, and never play online games again!”

This post, titled ”Nightmare, Release Me from Addiction,” was written by a thirteen-year-old [Sky-Filling Fire] player. This poor, heavily impacted child had cried as they deleted their account.

At the end of the post, countless players followed, some cursed, some wept, some sympathized, some gloated. In short, it was very lively. The experiences and encounters in the post had become the common voice of all players.

”Pipi!” Fatty called the little kid.

The little kid, biting its fingers anxiously, ran away as soon as it heard Fatty call. Its short legs whirled up a small whirlwind as it dashed off and disappeared.

”Damn it.” Fatty walked towards the Mecha Manufacturing Room under the knife-like gazes, not needing to ask to know that Pipi had surely committed countless bad deeds.

With an apologetic wave in front of everyone, Fatty slowly closed the door to the Mecha Manufacturing Room.

Whether it was a million or ten million enemies, it made no difference to Fatty. After all, in the internet world, no one knew who was in the Magic Beast. As long as there was no threat, that feeling of being the center of attention was actually quite enjoyable.

Moreover, being able to play with a million people was a skill. As for whether the little kid used any other means, Fatty chose to overlook it.

”Kill him! Boohoo... I want to kill him!” Suddenly, a woman cried out from the crowd.

Some old players knew, this Feiyang female officer named Margaret was the female player who last time, was pinned under SM01314, and had her Mecha’s circuits dismantled by its tech rod.
