Chapter 554: Volume 6 Chapter 35 Don’t Give Me a Chance_2

”Joint operations!” Fatty suddenly understood and sneered, ”Obviously, Hastings wants the Southeast Star Domain to bear the heavy burden of holding down and consuming the main force of the Western Alliance, laying the foundation for future fronts in the Central Star Domain.”

”Karsdon Star River?” Ann Lei asked with wide eyes.

”The Feiyang Republic wouldn’t send two United Fleets out of nowhere to help us. Naturally, they have their own designs.” Fatty waved his hand, his expression somewhat grim, ”It’s chilling to think about. From the very beginning, Hastings calculated everyone into his plans, and we have to follow his plan.”

Ann Lei opened her mouth wide, listening to Fatty’s constant sneering, ”No wonder Chuckna adopted a defensive stance, not anxious to retake the lost star systems. I guess they had an understanding with the Feiyang Republic. As long as they can wear down the main forces of several major Western Alliance countries in the Southeast Star Domain, they wouldn’t care about our lives and deaths!”

”Exactly!” Ann Lei said angrily, ”But didn’t they consider that once the Western Alliance breaches the Leray Channel, they can form a line at the outskirts? By then, countries like Tatania won’t be able to escape. Even the iron triangle defense line of Feiyang, Ryan, and Chuckna won’t withstand the full-scale attack of the Western Alliance.”

”You underestimate Hastings.” Fatty stared at the wall, gritting his teeth, ”I bet he’ll let us sacrifice, but he won’t let us fail. When the Southeast Star Domain reaches its most critical moment, his fleet should appear!”

Ann Lei was speechless. This conclusion made her shiver involuntarily. As astute as she was, she quickly understood. Just by following Fatty’s thought process and thinking about the Little Pyrenees Battle, she knew Fatty’s deduction was correct.

Hastings is executing his strategy with precision.

In this epic war sweeping through human society, every country, every army is a pawn in his hands. At the most critical moment of the Gazalin and Leray war, it was the appearance of the second Expeditionary Army Fleet that decided the fate of the Little Pyrenees!

This fleet had already gathered and embarked on its interstellar journey half a year before the Little Pyrenees Battle began. After Leray defeated Gazalin and held off Desic, they appeared at the jump point from Knevel to Little Pyrenees.

Leray made painful sacrifices, only to hand Little Pyrenees over to Fiscella. Not only that, in the end, Leray people even had to thank Hastings for reclaiming the Galileo Star System.

That was the first phase of the campaign. Leray fought for three years for it. However, those three years were merely Hastings placing a few pieces on the war chessboard. Next, like the first phase, more such moves would follow. He could make Leray sacrifice for three years, and he could similarly bind the entire Southeast Star Domain and exact similar sacrifices.

When the Feiyang Republic’s fleet arrives late to the war-torn Southeast Star Domain, where will they plant their flag?

”Why does Sobel focus so much on the Leray Channel? Would he willingly suffer another loss?” Ann Lei felt somewhat incredulous, ”By then, would he not act?”

”He will act!” Fatty sat on the sofa with his legs crossed, supporting his chin with his hand, ”Sobel acted from the beginning. He is determined to secure the Leray Channel! If the Binart Empire were to face the Feiyang Republic head-on in the Karsdon Star River, Sobel is not confident in winning. From both military and national strength, the Feiyang Republic is stronger. Plus, with Hastings commanding, Sobel would never risk seeking a decisive battle.”

”What he needs is momentum!” As Fatty spoke, the light from the TV screen suddenly brightened, casting a silver-white glow on his face, making his dark eyes sparkle with two points of brilliance.

Ann Lei stared dazedly at Fatty. She felt that the Fatty deep in thought had a special charm that dazzled her.

”The entire interstellar map of humanity has been fragmented into small pieces by Sobel’s lightning invasion of various Western Alliance countries. This was Sobel’s first move.” Fatty’s eyes gleamed, ”The Sobel family had previously lost to Hastings. The outcome of that battle, which gambled the future of a nation, directly led to the Feiyang Republic being dominant over the Binart Empire for decades.”

The light from the TV dimmed as the screen changed, and in the quiet, dark living room, only Fatty’s voice could be heard, ”If I were Sobel, I wouldn’t recklessly use my nation’s power to fight to the death against a formidable opponent like the Feiyang Republic. Without the assurance of a decisive blow, I would slowly place my pieces at the corners of the board, linking my pieces together to eventually turn my advantage into a winning position in Karsdon!”

”Most importantly!” Fatty’s voice carried a tone of helplessness and anger, ”These two superpowers will never give other countries the chance to reap the benefits. What they aim to achieve is not just victory in this war, but a dominant position for the next few centuries! They absolutely won’t do something that leads to mutual destruction and allows other countries to take advantage!”

”So... they both set their sights on the Southeast Star Domain.” Ann Lei murmured, staring at Fatty. This series of dazzling analyses left her mesmerized. She had never thought that in the hands of top military strategists, the world could be manipulated in such a way.
