Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 558: Volume 6 Chapter 36 Life and Research_3

The calculation system refers to the onboard computer that loads all system programs and controls and allocates power and energy.

As a mechanic soldier, Fatty is extremely familiar with these systems. However, after studying Casper’s Work Journal, he gained a deeper understanding of these systems. Through the door Casper opened for him, Fatty saw a brand new world.

Each system’s differences lead to significant variations in performance and style of the mecha.

For instance, beast-shaped mecha, insect-shaped mecha, and human-shaped mecha have fundamental differences in their action systems. These differences, in turn, lead to variations in energy and power distribution and control methods. Even within the same type of mecha, the quality of a system can determine the grade of the mecha.

Take Warrior Pioneers and Warrior Leaders, for example. These two mecha, produced from the same platform, have a disparity in quality due to differences in their action systems. Warrior Leader uses a new drive model researched by the Leray Federation five years ago. Its power loss is far lower than that of Pioneer, yet its agility and speed are much higher.

Thus, if two warriors with roughly the same control level duel using different mecha, without considering randomness and errors, the victory rate of Warrior Leader would be much higher than Pioneer.

Fatty had already obtained a mini battleship engine and a Hummingbird auxiliary thruster from Casper. Although the battleship engine is only an unfinished prototype, Fatty, having thoroughly understood its principles and design, is confident in completing this masterpiece in the near future.

These two items can be considered top-tier components in the current world of mecha. Even an ordinary mecha, equipped with these two components, can become an assassin-type mecha known for its extreme speed and agility.

However, owning these two components alone does not satisfy Fatty. Guided by Casper’s Work Journal, Fatty set his sights on the vast array of private mecha in human society.

These mecha might not be able to compete with military mecha in wars. However, in close combat or certain extreme techniques, they undoubtedly have advantages that military mecha lack. Due to nearly a century of accumulated technology, these mecha are, in some aspects, more advanced than the concepts proposed by Casper.

This gave Fatty an idea. If he could integrate all the advanced technology from private mecha, could he create a mecha more advanced than the Binart Empire’s Twelfth Generation Mecha?

It is known that the civilian sector, with its deep foundation, hides many capable and outstanding individuals. The wisdom of these people is something even Casper does not dare to underestimate. Many of the ideas and technologies in Casper’s Work Journal originate from the civilian sector.

What Fatty needs to do now is find these technologies. Combine them with his own mecha martial arts to create a mecha that truly suits him.

Without further ado, Fatty simultaneously studied the Work Journal and researched all the mecha he found online, dedicating his spare time to diving into civilian mecha forums. He sought knowledge supporting Casper’s design theories and discussed private mecha design and manufacturing techniques with others.

For a time, many private mecha research forums saw the emergence of a character named ”Bottomless Inquiry.”

People found that this guy not only mastered various mecha knowledge but also had all kinds of bizarre theories and questions.

Wherever he went, chaos ensued.

This guy usually liked to join a new forum and review all technical posts one by one. If he got interested, he would flatter the post author to an extreme extent. The author often felt a profound connection and responded to his questions tirelessly and meticulously, forming a friendly and earnest bond.

If he found a post uninteresting, the author would be in for trouble. He would often mock and ridicule the author, exposing the fallacies one by one in broad daylight. If the author fought back, it played right into his hands, and he wouldn’t stop until he upset the opponent thoroughly.

The most infuriating part was that sometimes, in a fit of anger, the author would reveal crucial technology, only for him to exploit it without gratitude, always finding ways to engage in disruptive arguments, pointing out other flaws.

A typical example was a post discussing energy dispersion. When he randomly criticized it, the author responded with evidence-based reasoning, only to be refuted completely by him. In the end, he accused the author of being ugly and claimed that ugly people had no right to speak, nearly causing the author to suffer a stroke from anger.
