Counterfeit Hero

Every part of the plan received strong support and was executed most effectively!

From the intelligence obtained at the start of the Leray Special Fleet’s journey to the final mastery of the timing of the warp, every detail was carefully considered. To Baolsen, such a plan was almost foolproof!

In fact, when the Leray Fleet stepped precisely onto the route he led the ambush on, when the pirates had completely stalled the Leray Fleet, when three destroyers and one cruiser completed their warp at the most opportune moment and appeared directly in front of the Leray Fleet, even Powell couldn’t think of a way to escape the ambush he had set!

This was just an ultra-small fleet transporting some exchange students. Baolsen thought, in front of the charged main cannons of three destroyers and one cruiser, what else could the entangled Leray people do but hoist the white flag and surrender?

In that moment, victory was so close at hand.

Then, the situation spiraled out of control rapidly.

The destroyer where Fatty was, originally protected position on the rear side of the flagship. If they had hesitated even a little, the main ambush fleet, which relied on the inertia of warp speed, would have completely surrounded them! In fact, even without the encirclement, those Leray Fleet ships were already locked onto by the charged main cannons!

What was unexpected was that this mad warship decisively placed itself between all the ships and the cannons, stopping the ambush main fleet from completing the encirclement and taking advantageous positions!

Baolsen smiled bitterly. What followed was the pursuit order he hastily issued when he saw the enemy flagship fleeing, directly leading to the failure of this ambush!

Except for the price of ten torpedo boats and four armed merchant ships completely destroyed to eliminate six Leray Fleet escort ships, both cooked ducks flew away!

The flagship of the Leray Fleet, [Castle Lily], dove straight into the barrier zone and eventually disappeared into the Jump Point they came from. And that ship [Blue Rose] forcefully smashed out of the heavy encirclement!

”Send a message to the United Fleet to block the entire passage!” Baolsen ordered his deputy.

This was his only option. Before Sobel confirmed the failure of this ambush, he had to show some action. He would dig three feet into the ground to find that destroyer already smashed into a pile of scrap!

.........

”What if those three Binart Destroyers hadn’t pursued [Castle Lily] or had fired at the first opportunity?”

In the dining room of [Blue Rose], Chekov poured Fatty a drink from a bottle of Moscow vodka the cook had secretly brought on board, while asking.

Voyagers in the cosmos always understood gratitude. Every time they passed through various dangerous zones in space, the crew would sincerely praise the goddess of luck and feel grateful to every companion who contributed.

And this time, it wasn’t the goddess of luck leading hundreds of crew members to escape, but this misunderstood Fatty.

Thus, taking advantage of the celebration, Chekov found Fatty straightforwardly, apologized for his previous remarks, and announced that Fatty could modify the [Blue Rose] however he wanted. Not a single crew member would say no.

Of course, besides gratitude, Chekov could see no harm in having Fatty help modify the warship.

The energy shield strength displayed on the console computer, the coordination speed of various systems, the charging speed and firepower enhancement of the main gun room and turrets, Chekov saw it all clearly. He had never imagined that his familiar [Blue Rose] could have such terrifying potential through modification!

The overall fifteen percent upgrade in data wouldn’t lose out to destroyers from superpowers like Feiyang or Binart! And that was achieved without more parts and time for extensive modifications. If only there was a better shipyard to let Fatty...

Just the thought excited Chekov to the point of trembling.

”I’ve never thought about it...” Fatty stuffed a large piece of Miro Leaf roast meat into his mouth, oil dripping: ”Anyway, there wouldn’t have been a chance for anyone to sit down and eat. Stuff as many as possible in the ship’s escape pods, and the rest... would have been a mutual destruction outcome.”

Chekov silently picked up his glass, downed it in one gulp with a hissing sound, then shoved a large piece of meat into his mouth, facing Fatty with flushed face and stuffed mouth.

”Where are we heading now...” Fatty sipped a little wine with a frown, let out a cry, stuck out his tongue, and pretended to breathe fire continuously: ”Where to fly?”

Chekov shook his head, ”On the interstellar map, ahead is the Tuna Constellation nebula, an obstacle zone suitable for hiding. We can follow the nebula, find a place to repair the warship first, and then figure out a way to get out of this Star Domain.”

”How many Jump Points are there?” Fatty asked.

Chekov sighed, ”Two... or maybe three.”

”Two or three?!” Fatty looked dumbfounded: ”Then if they just block the Jump Points, aren’t we the thing in a jar?”

Chekov tugged at his ear and said gloomily, ”There are indeed many other Jump Points, but the problem is that most are either micro Jump Points or unknown ones, and the distance is too far from us. Navigating in the obstacle zone could take a very long time.”
