Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 555: Volume 6 Chapter 35 Don’t Give Me a Chance_3

Fatty’s meticulous analysis allowed Ann Lei to see a gradually clear truth.

Fatty sighed, ”From the day Gazalin invaded Leray, the Southeast Star Domain was destined to become their battleground for annihilation. Only here do they have enough reason to fight, and only by gaining enough victories here will they truly sound the horn to cross the Karsdon Star River and achieve their goal in one fell swoop!”

”So, what will Sobel do next?” Ann Lei bit her lip and said, ”Does he really want to turn this place into a war meat grinder?”

”No. Sobel will never let his advantage be consumed in the Southeast Star Domain.” Fatty looked Ann Lei in the eye and asserted firmly, ”If Binart Empire’s failure to directly participate in the Little Pyrenees Battle led to Desic’s near defeat, then this time, he will definitely not wait until the end to make a move. To gain an advantage, I think Sobel’s first card is the Suss Empire!”

”The Suss Empire?” Ann Lei asked in surprise, ”Why the Suss Empire? Even if they were to join the fight, it would only be to ally with Jiepeng. They don’t even border us!”

”Do you know why?” Fatty sighed deeply, ”Because the target of the Suss Empire, or rather the target Sobel commands in the Western Alliance, is not us at all! That massive offensive is just a cover!”

”A cover?” Ann Lei was stunned. She and her colleagues at the Intelligence Bureau worried day and night about the Western Alliance’s military mobilization and large-scale assembly, but from Fatty’s perspective, none of it was aimed at Leray. She sat up straight and asked in confusion, ”What is their target?”

”The Saleria Federation!”

As soon as Fatty uttered these five words, Ann Lei froze for a moment before everything became clear.

Just think about the position of the Saleria Federation, their domestic political situation, and the Resk Star System occupied by the Suss, and everything surfaces.

The Western Alliance has no need to fight hard with several Fei Alliance countries. Sobel only needs to force Saleria to change flags, and Leray will find itself in an irreparable predicament.

Ann Lei stared in a trance at the TV still playing the program. The future depicted by Fatty left her both shocked and scared. So, this was the real truth. The colleagues at the Intelligence Bureau who talked boastfully about their situational analysis now seemed ridiculous in retrospect.

Ann Lei opened her mouth, wanting to say something. When her gaze shifted from the TV to Fatty’s face, suddenly her fear calmed down. Looking at the contemplative Fatty before her, she realized that the timid boy she had once protected had grown into a wise man!

This realization made her feel a surge of pride.

”Does the Command Department know about this? What should we do?” Ann Lei gently wrapped her arm around Fatty’s and murmured.

”Do those old foxes know? They must!” Fatty snapped out of his thoughts, a smile appearing on his face as he thought, ”Those old guys have long left a way out. Otherwise, how could they be so enthusiastic about the new Space Jump Point Technology and this joint Mecha development project at this time, not only sending me to Chuckna but even transferring troops. Even Boswell’s words were likely something they had discussed beforehand!”

”What should we do...” Fatty suddenly burst into laughter, ”Someone has long set up to drag Chuckna into the water, no need for us to worry. I think it would be delightful to mess with Hastings and Sobel, those high and mighty gods who treat human lives with little importance.”

”What mischievous idea do you have now?” Ann Lei gave Fatty a flirtatious glance.

”Just thinking for now... but...” Fatty gritted his teeth, his face contorted with anger, ”When the opportunity arises, I wouldn’t mind sparking war in the Karsdon Star River! Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. How many more sacrifices must Leray endure! Hastings, Sobel, you better not give me the chance!”
