Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 561: Volume 6, Chapter 38: Catastrophe

The network is not immutable; this colossal entity is made up of countless terminals controlled by humans and is undergoing profound changes every day.

Within it, there are various new technologies, new systems, new security measures, new firewalls, new vulnerabilities, and viruses. They form this world and set the rules for this world.

As a product of rules and Logic, little kid cannot control human thoughts, nor can he break through the rules themselves, and thus cannot control the network. However, this does not affect him from becoming a part of this world composed of data and programs.

Using a network citizen without the limitations of energy, memory, health, and lifespan to describe little kid is more than appropriate.

The information an ordinary person can obtain online in a lifetime might be less than what little kid can obtain in one second.

To Tian Xingjian, little kid is an incredibly awesome search engine!

This saves him a lot of trouble.

For example, if Fatty is collecting technical information related to Power Systems, then with an ordinary search engine, he could locate more data in one second than he could go through in a lifetime.

This is merely transforming the sea into a large lake. Trying to distinguish which drop of water is pure, which drop is poisonous, and which drop is beneficial in this lake is akin to a fool’s dream.

But with little kid, it’s different.

The role of Artificial Intelligence lies in its ability to discern and judge. The formula errors that an ordinary search engine can’t recognize, little kid can identify. The same content materials that an ordinary search engine can’t compare, little kid can discriminate and filter.

Whether it’s fundamental disciplines like materials science, mathematics, physics or specialized fields such as mechanics, engine design and manufacturing science, energy systems distribution, industrial design, energy weapons research, for little kid, it’s just a moment’s judgment.

Only the most valuable information, verified by these academic standards and observed for fluency in writing, would be sent to Fatty.

No matter how depreciated this information might be, no matter how deep it might be buried, how old, how inconspicuous, for little kid, none of this is a problem!

Moreover, the most important function of little kid is that he understands Fatty’s thoughts, knows what interests Fatty, what kind of information he needs, what he has seen, and what he hasn’t. This kind of communication is something an ordinary search engine totally cannot achieve.

He can even infiltrate some highly confidential units and steal data. Although connecting to civilian information networks usually doesn’t involve cutting-edge military technology terminals and might take some time, this has already made Fatty very satisfied.

With little kid’s help, the research Fatty conducts on the network can be described as effortless. If people knew what kind of technical information Fatty reads every day, even the top-notch Mechanics would probably go mad with envy.

In fact, people have already gone mad.

This character named ”Bottomless Inquiry,” since bursting onto the scene, initially surprised people with his erudition. Later, people were completely astonished by his mastery in various fields. His level soared like a rocket.

Roaming on the network for so long, folks have seen countless types of experts. However, a super expert like ”Bottomless Inquiry” is a first for everyone.

In the early posts, ”Bottomless Inquiry” was often refuted to the point of rage and insult. But later, with the same systems and the same issues, no one could stump him anymore.

It’s one thing for a person to be proficient in one system, but the problem is, this guy is not only proficient in one system but has profound knowledge in all systems related to Mecha! Some theories and operations proposed in the posts even drove the acknowledged top masters in the field crazy.

There are tens of thousands of Mechas in the world, each with different systems, and the combination of parts for these systems varies. Just recognizing these parts is already a miracle, not to mention understanding the theories, data, and scientific principles involved.

People don’t know where this person learned so many incredible and astonishing technologies. Other than shock, they could only marvel.

Every day, enthusiasts collect ”Bottomless Inquiry’s” posts. They meticulously arrange these posts under a general outline, categorized by time and involved systems. Each post has countless people researching and debating.

The whirlwind triggered by these posts not only swept through the entire information network but also the real world. It attracted not only Mecha Enthusiasts mixing in the network but also civilian Mecha experts and Mechanical Masters from human society at large.

Essays with brilliant replies from ”Bottomless Inquiry” like ”On the Future Development Direction of Mecha Engines,” ”Improvement of Insect-shaped Mecha Control Systems,” ”The Impact of Mecha Vibration Wings on High-Speed Mecha Combat,” ”On the Defects of Hurricane Mecha Asymmetric Drive System,” ”Discussion on Miniaturized Biological Detection Radar Technology” have captivated countless people.

Every day, the posts of ”Bottomless Inquiry” are increasing. He ignites fires and harasses everywhere. People watched his sudden rise, his rapid ascent, his limitless advancement. Everyone was shocked and admired while also feeling curious!

Who exactly is this guy?

This question also appeared in ”Sky-Filling Fire.”

That disgrace of all humanity, the most cunning and shameless SM01314 is back!

After this detestable bastard went on a rampage, knocking down countless experts, reaching the eleventh place on the leaderboard, then vanishing without a trace, he reappeared in the Simulated War Network. People were cheering, people were cursing.

This time, unlike the last return, almost everyone knows this number one person in ”Sky-Filling Fire”! His reputation even surpassed the first place on the leaderboard.

Three hundred and sixty-seven matches with a full record of victories, of which three hundred and fifteen were won using various cunning tricks and insidious tactics. Along with the official recordings of all SM01314’s battle scenarios being reviewed countless times by players, with numerous people swearing revenge and just as many idolizing him, it’s hard for SM01314 not to become famous!

So, people quickly discovered that SM01314 didn’t appear in the competition hall. The moment he went online, he slipped out of the safe zone, disappearing in the vast game map.

Players who were dumbfounded took an entire day to realize what had happened, as hundreds of robbed players collectively identified him. Although it was unclear if someone had smoked something that messed up his brain, leading him to seek death in such a way, everyone wasn’t going to give up on playing this fun game because of that!

An unprecedented manhunt began. A collective bounty of over 100 billion game virtual currency and nearly a million participants in the pursuit! To enjoy such treatment, everyone felt this bastard named SM01314 was lucky.

If this bastard isn’t beaten to the point of deleting his account, everyone might as well commit collective suicide!

If Fatty knew what was happening on the network, he’d probably be very proud. Attracting so many people who are eager to strangle him would give him a great sense of achievement. But in fact, Fatty knew nothing about this. Besides eating, sleeping, and fooling around every day, he was fully immersed in learning from Casper’s Work Journal and Mecha data on the network.

The game account had already been handed over to the extremely excited little kid.

This time entering the Simulated War Network, Fatty’s original intention was merely to leverage the infinite combination possibilities of known parts in the Simulated War Network to practice designing new Mechas. Therefore, unless little kid had collected enough parts, Fatty never intended to manipulate the game himself.

Thus, Fatty unintentionally created the greatest wrongful case in the history of human online gaming. He completely forgot what consequences would result from entrusting the task of collecting parts to an Artificial Intelligence. Especially, an infamous account falling into the hands of an Artificial Intelligence like little kid!

The only word to describe the next month of ”Sky-Filling Fire.”

Calamity!

For all players, this was the darkest time in ”Sky-Filling Fire,” the most devastating nightmare of their lives.

That Magic Beast Mecha, which came and went without a trace, only did one thing. Robbery! And it was extremely arrogant robbery under the pursuit of countless people!

No one knew where this Magic Beast was hiding. Millions of people frantically searched across the boundless game map. Everyone entered SM01314’s name on the priority scan list of their game radar.

But no one could locate this Magic Beast. Yet, on the game forum, posts documenting the robbery experiences were as continuous as a waterfall!

”He is in the Duri Company ruins base! I was knocked out cold! This damn trash stole my D-201 model dual-circuit ion jet engine that I worked three days to get!” One player described his experience in tearful words.

”He stole my old-fashioned internal traction single-arm drive rod! In the A3 mining area.”

”He stole my Bear-type external armor! In the Mima Industrial Base bandit ruins area!”

”He stole my Slaughterer-type Target Connection Device! And a Kles Energy Accelerator in the Highland Frozen Ruins!”

Countless players were accusing!
