Counterfeit Hero

From paradise to hell, it took only a few minutes.

How could a destroyer of the Binart Empire appear here?

And how did that cruiser of the Desic Empire get through a small jump point that even large merchant ships couldn’t pass through?

For the secret mission visiting Chuckna, why did the Western Alliance put in so much effort?

All sorts of questions filled the minds of every member of the Special Fleet. Everything happening before their eyes looked eerie no matter how you saw it.

But now was not the time to look for answers!

”Those bastards!” Chekov’s hand almost sank into the hard wooden armrest of the command chair. His fingertips turned white from the extreme pressure.

Just as that inarticulate Fatty said, this was a conspiracy, a meticulously planned ambush! The role of the twenty pirate ships was to entangle the Special Fleet, preventing the Leray Special Fleet from withdrawing to the obstacle zone at the first moment of the Western Alliance Fleet’s ambush.

The main cannons of the three Binart Empire destroyers that jumped out first already had faint ion sparks winding and swirling around them. They were accumulating energy, preparing for a shocking strike. And behind them, the massive body of a cruiser was also gradually emerging.

[Kars Lily] was already entangled and unable to move by another destroyer and an armed merchant ship that had suddenly approached. The old [Phoenix] destroyer, which was originally the prey, also began to turn port under the cover of two torpedo boats.

If [Blue Rose] does not immediately insert itself in front of [Kars Lily]’s flank to sever the enemy’s entanglement, the flagship carrying the entire secret delegation and the future hope of Leray won’t even be able to avoid the first wave of attacks!

But! If they rush up... the fate awaiting the hundreds of officers and crew on [Blue Rose] would be to become dust in the cosmos!

After a high-speed charge, let alone [Blue Rose] being unable to escape before the Western Alliance Fleet’s volley, even if it forcibly turned, the pirates in front would send this ship straight to hell.

This truth was not only understood by Chekov and the crew in the control room, even Helen understood!

The whole ship was dead silent, except for that Fatty howling: ”Charge up there! Idiots, do you want to see everyone on the flagship die? Fuck you, number one pilot, what are you standing around for, charge up there for me!”

............

”This wasn’t a perfect ambush, but the result was satisfactory.”

Baolsen rested his chin on his hand, leisurely staring at the virtual screen on the main console. For this ambush ordered by Sobel personally, the first United Fleet of the Binart Empire and Naga Federation stationed in Desic had been preparing for nearly a month.

From the Leray Federation to the Chuckna Republic, apart from the main routes that had been blocked, there were three other routes. And without exception, all three routes were small jump point routes only allowing Destroyer-level ships to pass through.

For this reason, the United Fleet dispatched a total of nine destroyers. Moreover, through the Intelligence Department, they gathered all the pirate warships in this star domain controlled by the Empire, swapped in Desic Empire fleet soldiers, and disguised them as pirates to prepare for this ambush.

And three old cruisers of the Desic Empire were dismantled and transported separately on tugboats, then reassembled using pirate docks after entering the route.

Such a grand operation!

After this mission, these three cruisers, along with six [Phoenix] destroyers about to be decommissioned, would serve as rewards for the pirates, making them stronger in disrupting the unconventional supply lines of the Fei Alliance. And the Desic Empire would receive a new battleship from the Binart Empire as compensation.

The least profitable might have been the initiator, the Binart Empire. Although it was unclear why Sobel was so interested in an ordinary Leray colonel to the extent of such a massive operation, as the captain of the first squadron of the United Fleet and the executor of the ambush, Baolsen knew his job was to obey!

To ensure a foolproof plan, Baolsen carefully selected ambush locations along all three routes! The same terrain, the same combat methods. The role of the fake pirates was not as the Leray people suspected, to drive them out of the obstacle zone, but merely to entangle them so that the main fleet following the jump could complete the encirclement, and ultimately, capture that Fatty or the entire fleet!

The fake pirates of the Desic Empire performed quite well. After all, they were regular troops, not as loose as pirates. They were more resolute in executing the plan. Now, this small fleet of Leray had been entangled by them.

From intercepted communications, the Leray fleet’s flagship was trapped in the encirclement! That Fatty should be on this flagship, right?

Baolsen pressed the communicator: ”Notify all warships, main cannons maintain full power deterrence, advance at full speed. After completing encirclement, send a signal ordering the Leray fleet to surrender, guaranteeing their lives. Space Mecha squadron stand by, ready for armor-piercing assault at any time.”

.........

”Radar interfered, communications interfered! Lost contact with the fleet.”

”This ship has been locked on.”

”Aft compartment damaged, thruster output down by twenty percent, repairs underway. Estimated time needed: twenty minutes.”
