Beneath the Red Dragon

Additionally, the temporarily scarce power, Karon wants to leverage his newfound talent and his exploration of knowledge to achieve a process from zero to one, from nothing to existence; this will inevitably consume countless resources and nourishment, as well as substantial time and immense effort.

Within his body, the source of dragon bloodline also requires an immense amount of nourishment and resources to fill, satisfy, and grow.

The consumption of these resources and the thirst for nourishment is something even the Icaria World finds hard to seek. Because Karon has regarded the Icaria World as his foundation, his base; therefore, he cannot recklessly exhaust the lake to fish.

Moreover, to some extent, it is somewhat at odds with his established goal for the Dragon Empire. However, in other worlds and realms, it does not matter.

”No matter how perilous the road ahead may be, fortunately, I only firmly believe that the path is right beneath my feet. I will bathe in flames, forge in iron, break through blood and fire, and reach that unforeseeable other shore.”

Karon rose from his throne and strode out. Although every time he touched his bloodline talent, he would always feel an inexplicable familiarity, as if this talent were the first one he was inherently meant to possess.

Yet he no longer cares about that. He marches out of the King’s Castle with head held high.

When Karon’s enormous body stepped out of the gate of the King’s Castle, he was stopped by the voice of Silver Dragon Chris Tianna.

”Hey, Karon, Karon Gogomola, how long are you going to keep us locked up?”

Silver Dragon Chris squatted on her hind legs on the ground, her pair of silver-shining wings folded, holding chains as fiery as flames in her foreclaws. Her elegant head was hidden in the shadow behind the deep corridor pillars, speaking softly.

On the other side, the two adult Bronze Dragons pretended to have just noticed the Red Dragon’s figure, each peering their heads out from behind a pillar, silently watching the exchange between the Ancestral Red Dragon and the Silver Dragon Valkyrie.

”Although your territory is here, possessing a Dragon Group and countless loyal and valiant warriors, you couldn’t even begin to fathom the real strength and power of the Southern Good Dragon Alliance.”

Silver Dragon Chris lifted her head. Even as a prisoner, this Silver Dragon was still striving to maintain her pride.

”Those two Bronze Dragons, Gross and Natarili, are merely new candidates seeking admission to the Good Dragon Alliance. They need to prove themselves to be truly acknowledged and then be approved by the Dragon Crowned Council to become formal members.”

”Those formal members of the Good Dragon Alliance are each more outstanding and prestigious than these two reckless stubborn fellows. You wouldn’t want to invite the true members of the alliance; that would be a big trouble for you and your Dragon Group, your Empire.”

Silver Dragon Chris’s gaze fearlessly met the Ancestral Red Dragon’s indifferent dark golden pupils and softly said, ”If you release us now, after I return, I will do my utmost to mediate for you. As long as you can let Ancestral Golden Dragon Obilash return, I think I might be able to persuade them to compensate you with a large sum of gold coins!”

Despite the somewhat disdainful remarks Silver Dragon Chris made, the two Bronze Dragons kept nodding in agreement. No dragon wishes to be imprisoned in such humiliation as gate guards outside the door.

”Obilash, that bug clad in golden scales, about his fate, it remains unchanged. He is here, forever guarding the gate for me.”

Karon’s pupils were filled with indifference, and he spoke coolly, ”As for you, releasing you is possible, but you need to compensate me with a large sum of gold coins. Also, according to the territorial laws of judgment, you must serve the Empire for a period ranging from one to three years before I can grant you true freedom.”

”Southern Good Dragon Alliance, huh, if it’s truly that powerful, why would it shrink away in a corner of the Southern Continent? Let them come; I’m right here, I, Karon Gogomola, await their arrival.”

”You,” anger surged on Silver Dragon Chris’s elegant cheeks, ”I’m doing this for your good. Do you know what the foundation for the existence of the Southern Good Dragon Alliance is? Those core members of the Dragon Crowned Council wield enormous influence; they can even contact the ancient members of the Ancient Golden Dragon Council.”

”Then let those dragons, invite the members of the Ancient Golden Dragon Council to speak,” Karon’s cold words sounded in the Silver Dragon’s ears, ”As for doing it for my good, ha, a Silver Dragon doing something good for a Red Dragon? That’s a joke far more powerful than your magic powers, Chris.”

Silver Dragon Chris was left speechless by the Red Dragon’s cold and stubborn words. After a moment of silence, seeing the Red Dragon prepare to leave, she finally spoke, ”I have gold coins. I can pay your compensation temporarily, but I hope you can temporarily grant me freedom. I have some ideas that need verification, and I think my views and thoughts should be subject to some changes.”

Silver Dragon Chris finished speaking, and from her claws, a spiritual light of magic power blossomed, piles of gold coins appeared on the corridor’s stone slabs. With a glance, dragons could tell the number of this small pile of gold coins, twelve hundred gold coins, not one more, not one less.

”I, I only have these gold coins left now. I suppose it should be sufficient to pay your compensation, shouldn’t it?” Silver Dragon Chris said, her voice a bit stammering. At that moment, she regretted entering the door of that Dragon Eternal Card Hall.

”Damn it, no wonder the dragons in the Dragon Group are so wealthy; they really know how to extort money,” Silver Dragon Chris couldn’t help but think. In just half a day, she spent eight hundred gold coins in the Card Hall, a speed faster than many dragons who rob on the roads.

This amount of gold coins is considered a substantial fortune for most dragons, yet Karon didn’t even have the desire to take a second glance.

Karon cast a sidelong glance at the Silver Dragon, his disdainful expression manifesting on his face.

”I, Ancestral Red Dragon, Master of Dragons, Imperial Monarch, is my dignity worth only this much money?”

”Raise the price,” Karon opened his mouth wide, his mocking words pierced into the Silver Dragon’s heart like cold swords, ”Ten thousand gold coins, at the very least ten thousand gold coins.”

”Also, after your sentencing, staying within the territory for a longer period, there is no hurry for this moment. I currently have no time; you all can temporarily stay here for a few days.”
