Beneath the Red Dragon

As Karon’s gentle words fell, the atmosphere in the royal court hall relaxed, and Blue Dragon Carlette’s dragon heart settled in her belly.

Although she didn’t receive any reward, Blue Dragon Carlette’s tail was unconsciously wagging and flapping around, displaying the blue dragon’s happy mood.

The dragons cast approving glances at Blue Dragon Carlette. With her performance, Blue Dragon Carlette managed to ease the Dragon Group’s prejudice against her. Even those who didn’t quite like this blue dragon refrained from expressing it under the Dragon Group leader’s endorsement.

Blue Dragon Akzhi cast openly admiring gazes, and now the status of the two blue dragons in the family was worlds apart from before.

Blue Dragon Akzhi, being one of the most trusted Giant Dragon Lords by the Dragon Group leader, had wielded the power to command all the regular Imperial legions, becoming immensely powerful and renowned.

Under the gaze of this male blue dragon, who was almost more aggressive than the Ancestral Red Dragon seated on the throne, Blue Dragon Carlette gave a fiery reply with her own gaze.

Perhaps after today’s gathering, Blue Dragon Carlette might not need to hurry about picking a mountain peak atop the mountains to nest.

Yet Blue Dragon Doss still felt somewhat awkward, stiffly not looking at Carlette.

In this blue dragon’s eyes, Blue Dragon Carlette was vastly inadequate as the family patriarch, yet young Blue Dragon Doss once took pride in Blue Dragon Carlette’s creation of the Giant Dragon Race.

But this awkwardness quickly disappeared, as one by one, maidens came in under the tapping of Karon’s Steel Dragon Claw, carrying trays filled with meticulously refined precious metal minerals, emanating an appetizing aroma for dragons.

These had been developed through the research of scholars within the territory, the perfect combination of minerals best suited for supplementing various elements in dragons’ bodies, promoting balanced development and ensuring fuller growth for dragons.

The outstanding appearance and formidable strength of each Giant Dragon Lord in the Dragon Group were the results of the full support provided by the entire empire. The research and combination of these foods were just the tip of the iceberg.

The research topics now are gradually delving into how to better stimulate the most perfect dragon bloodline, attempting to achieve the revival and evolution of the dragon bloodline through the means of combining magic and various potions.

Karon’s unique soul never viewed the territory’s significance to dragons as merely offerings or wealth accumulation, or launching wars to conquer lands. A true empire controlled by dragons could play a variety of intriguing games.

Karon had long decided to develop and expand the civilization established by the Dragon Group, then use the nourishment of the entire civilization to nurture the dragons. Dragons foster civilization, civilization strengthens dragons!

In this aspect alone, the civilization under the Dragon Group was already showing some signs.

With the Dragon Group allowing the free growth and reproduction of its subjects and beloved ones, ensuring ample space for survival and development, this not only made these subjects more loyal to the dragons’ rule but also willingly provided more offerings for dragons.

Just like the early accepted Green-skinned Goblins and Dogman’s Beloved by the Dragon Group, due to food scarcity and safety not being guaranteed in their historical heritage, once a clan reached a certain scale, it would automatically split into several smaller clans.

This way, food consumption reduces, and the smaller scale also makes them less likely to attract enemies and predators.

But now, within the Dragon Group’s territory, these two clans have rapidly expanded, with no clan divisions. The highly reproductive Dogman and Green-skinned Goblins can mature in just a few years, and at this point, the territory has over a hundred thousand Dogman and nearly a hundred thousand Green-skinned Goblins.

Besides those elite warriors and particularly intelligent clansmen engaged in other industries, the rest had passed through the Plane Teleportation Gate, stepping into the Dragon Group’s back garden—the Greenfield Forest Plane.

Tens of thousands of Dogman and Green-skinned Goblins enthusiastically work almost every day and night in the Greenfield Forest’s mines, mountains, and resource points, mining and delivering resources for the Dragon Group they swore allegiance to.

They might not even need supervision from Dragon Group’s patrols raising their whips to urge them, as these beloved ones know their efforts can earn the dragons’ affirmation, rewards, and favor!

Even the more lazy Dogman or Green-skinned Goblins, if they laze around for a long time, they might dream of those Dogman and Green-skinned Goblin heroic spirits enjoying feasting and celebration in the Heroic Spirit Hall, eagerly wanting to pounce and snap their necks to save their race from disgrace.

In such a dreadful circumstance, vast quantities of resources are transported daily through the Plane Teleportation Gate into the Dragon Group territory.

This is why the Dragon Group territory seems incredibly wealthy, even after years of continuous warfare.

Several Giant Dragon Lords each have a fixed portion daily, habitually squinting and using their talons to pick up and crush pieces of precious minerals and metals, slowly enjoying them as desserts after the grand feast.

But the young White Dragons Sloraka and adolescent White Dragon Ronnie, as well as Green Dragon Ali, were not as composed, even if a whole small wooden box of treasures lay before them, they were still somewhat reluctant to consume these precious metals as food.

These wandering wild dragons and the poor souls on the glaciers had grown used to poverty and were not quite adapted to the sudden opulence after joining the Dragon Group.

These several dragons even thought of secretly hiding these precious metals in the seams of their scales as treasures to be stored.

Blue Dragon Carlette hesitated briefly, watching the nonchalant Young Red Dragon Kedelos roll the entire tray of precious metal minerals into his belly with his agile tongue before cautiously starting to taste them herself.

The three Metal Dragons poking their heads out at the door of the great hall widened their vertical pupils into round ones.

They even had a thought in their minds that those titles of justice were not as valuable and tangible as the food on the Dragon Group’s tray—could titles of justice be worth a few Gold Coins?

Such a terrifying thought scared the Metal Dragons into shaking their heads frantically, trying to cast the dreadful notion away, yet the silent and imperceptible seeds of corruption had already been planted in these dragons’ mental lakes, gradually sprouting.

After the Dragon Group finished enjoying, the maidens removed the tableware, and Karon tapped the armrest again before speaking loudly.

”Since the banquet has concluded and the desserts are finished, it’s time we talk about serious matters: about Beastmen, about Fishmen, about territories, about the future!”
