Beneath the Red Dragon

Although pairs of fearsome dragon eyes flickered with vibrant light, not a single Giant Dragon made a sound, nor did any display impatience.

Even in the Dragon Group, the two hot-tempered Red Dragons, Kaidelos and Kleyna, were maintaining steady silence, not given any regard by the Metal Dragon.

Despite their eyes brimming with greed nearly turning into tangible claws reaching for the treasures, they maintained their quiet stance.

It seemed that in the face of this colossal wealth, the resolve of these Evil Dragons was more steadfast than the will of the Metal Dragon.

”Unbelievable, unimaginable!”

Such a thought simultaneously floated through the minds of the three Metal Dragons.

Silver Dragon Chris couldn’t help but gaze towards the deepest part of the King’s Castle, at the lofty Dragon’s Throne, curious about the expression on the face of the Ancestral Red Dragon, Monarch of the Dragon Group, Emperor of the Imperial, at this moment.

She saw the Ancestral Red Dragon, who on the battlefield was tyrannically fierce beyond measure, the Master of Dragons who was imperious and unrivaled before humanity, now seated high on his throne like a true noble emperor reigning over an ancient empire.

Absolute reason and wisdom, absolute restraint and calm, entirely contrasting with the frenzy and arrogance this Dragon Emperor showed on the battlefield.

These massive riches couldn’t provoke even the slightest glimmer in his eyes; not even the hardest to suppress source desire in the Giant Dragon blood—greed—could surface under the will of this Ancestral Red Dragon.

Were it not for the inherent pride and coldness concealed beneath those dark golden vertical pupils, Silver Dragon Chris would even suspect the opposite was a calm human Martial Monk or one of those human emperors whose desire for power overshadows everything.

Just like the Monarch ruling the vast lands of the Central Continent, the ancient empire handed down through millennia.

The Ancestral Red Dragon perched upon the throne bore the earth’s stability and heaviness, the face edged with iron’s angles and firmness, with a will revealing fire-like aggression and intensity.

Even though the opponent kept all their aura withdrawn, Silver Dragon Chris could still feel that naturally existing bracing presence, like an expression of essence.

In the eyes of Silver Dragon Chris, before the more mature Ancestral Red Dragon, the seemingly noble Ancestral Golden Dragon Oblash was merely like an immature child, a fledgling eagle granted power not of his own.

Only those scales gleaming with golden light could offer Oblash that false sophistication.

While the opposite, surveying the earth from the sky, was the King ruling over all Giant Dragons.

A sensation akin to human shivers rapidly transmitted from the tip of Silver Dragon Chris’s tail upward, spreading through the spine to reach all limbs and bones, causing the scales on her back to swiftly shut tightly against the skin beneath.

For she saw the majestic, resplendent, and noble Dragon Emperor casting his calm gaze upon her.

In a daze, Silver Dragon Chris seemed to see a slight ripple appear on the opposite’s serene cheeks, Red Dragon curving his lips, revealing an enigmatic smile among the tusks glimmering coldly.

Silver Dragon Chris suddenly felt as if icy water sourced from the Nether River’s depths had been poured upon her head.

Even the cold resistance from the Silver Dragon couldn’t resist the penetrating chill that soaked through her limbs entirely, connecting with her rapidly beating heart, prompting her to quietly retract her head.

Dragons with scales of various hues coiled on the Black Stone Throne and exquisite carpet, allowing the maidens to remove the surrounding tables and leftovers, waiting quietly.

The banquet of everyone had ended, but the banquet of the Dragon Group was just beginning, and even these impatient Giant Dragons had reason enough to wait for this moment.

Ample in form as if carved from jade, the loyal female slave with bewitching charm like a succubus incarnate, Karon’s personal financial officer and territory’s tax official Giant Demon Fafnir was standing below the right side of the Red Dragon’s throne.

Dressed in professional attire akin to civil servants, Fafnir’s alluring face also appeared remarkably serious and solemn, for the Giant Demon knows her master doesn’t favor subordinates who can’t distinguish between situations and priorities.

Thus, she had already restrained her inherent captivation aura, although her appearance and demeanor inherently possessed a charm difficult for ordinary creatures to resist.

”Master, this is all the expenditure and income within the territory during your slumber, every spending within the Giant Dragon Treasure Vault accurately recorded in the ledger,”

”And owing to the development of the Greenfield Forest Plane, the expenditure in several years of warfare by the Giant Dragon Treasure Vault was compensated. Regarding tonight’s dividend banquet, it was wealth accumulated for the fixed profit surplus created by the territory in past days,”

”Due to three years of war, the revenue generated within the territory had no surplus, thus the portion was equally funded by the Giant Dragon Treasure Vault.”

Giant Demon Fafnir’s soft voice resonated, explaining all circumstances to her master.

Ding, ding, ding.

Karon’s curved finger claws gently tapped on the throne’s armrest, first lightly smiling to affirm the Giant Demon’s work accomplishments, ”Fafnir, you’ve done well, you haven’t let down my trust nor your capabilities! I’m aware of your requests, and I’ll provide a satisfying answer to you.”
