Beneath the Red Dragon

”Generous and tolerant master, Fafnir pledges loyalty to you until the end of life!” Giant Demon Fafnir responded straightforwardly, placing his slender, fair palm on his chest, much like those officials.

These beloved ones, though they’ve been among humans for a long time, remain straightforward and haven’t learned the tactfulness of human bureaucrats.

Karon turned his gaze towards the Dragon Group. Among these Giant Dragons are companions who’ve grown alongside him since childhood, those who joined the Dragon Group for various reasons later on, and some dragons bound by the group’s power, including both Five-Color and Metal Dragons.

But now, they have formed a united entity—Gogomola Dragon Group. Their destinies converge here and now, inseparable.

The Giant Dragons also responded to the Master of the Dragon Clans with their gazes.

Facing the dragons’ attention, Karon bared his long tusks and spoke: ”Initially, we formed this special Dragon Group due to a covenant, which made us spontaneously gather together. During my slumber, you’ve brilliantly fulfilled the Dragon’s Covenant, so I will also fulfill my promise.”

”Tonight, not only do we celebrate the victory of war and the founding of the Imperial, but also share the fruits of rule over the years. This is the tradition of the Gogomola Dragon Group from the beginning to the end.”

As Karon’s words fell, the enforced quiet among dragons suddenly turned to excitement. Camid’s two heads shook left and right.

Green Dragon Antajena’s gaze shifted from the Ancestral Red Dragon to the treasure on the ground, while Black Dragon Rosani’s tail excitedly flailed, creating thumping sounds.

The Giant Dragon Lords ground their teeth and flicked their tails, some unable to contain themselves.

Even the later-joined young White Dragon Sloraka and adolescent White Dragon Roni, along with Green Dragon Ali and young Red Dragon Kedelos, showed expectant gazes. Blue Dragon Carlette, participating in such an event for the first time, appeared especially excited.

Though these dragons hadn’t received a direct response from the Master of the Dragon Clans, the fact they remain here shows they’ve been accepted as true members of the Dragon Group.

Silver Dragon Chris and two Bronze Dragons, Gross and Natarili, peeked cautiously from the castle gate, astonished. For these three dragons, within both Five-Colored and Metal Dragon Groups, such occurrences were deemed impossible.

Let alone distributing wealth among other dragons, even if Tiamat and Bahamut demanded their dragon followers to offer a single Silver Coin, these dragons would likely retract their faith in the Dragon God without hesitation, then sell the idols of the Dragon Gods for the last Copper Coin to add to their Treasure Vault.

This attitude prevails among these dragons after the Dragon Fall Holy War regarding the two Dragon Gods.

This prompted the three adult Metal Dragons to heighten their hearing secretly, intrigued by this peculiar Dragon Group.

”During the years the Dragon Group slumbered, facing the invasion of the Beastman Kingdom’s army, Alina, Akzhi, Naxson, and Alfred, you performed excellently. You are the primary contributors to our victory,”

”Thus, you shall receive the most,”

Although the dragons had different divisions of labor, causing varied impacts, Karon didn’t want to overly distinguish credits. It would not only be troublesome for dragons but also possibly incite rivalry. Hence, he regarded the contributions of these Great Dragons as of the same level.

Several dragons excitedly clawed on the Black Stone Throne with their Wing Claws, stretching their necks to rest their heads on the heavy treasure boxes carried by Jackal-Wolf Man guards.

These riches are something the wild dragons could never accumulate in a lifetime. Even some Lord Giant Dragons would need a considerably long time to squeeze the sweat and blood of their beloved ones to fill the boxes before them, yet their quality couldn’t compare to these premium treasures.

And these are merely the accumulations over years of rule within the Dragon Group Territory. This made a few dragons feel that the previous hardship and toil seemed like a mere storm of insignificance.

”At critical moments in the war, the slumbering dragons awakened one by one, laying the foundation for our ultimate victory, hence your gains are almost equal.”

Box after box of treasure was brought before the dragons transitioning from youth to adolescence, with each eagerly claiming their wealth.

Only White Dragon Camid, raising its two heads high, looked around before satisfactorily resting its heads on the treasure chest.

Camid was very pleased, as this was the first time he shared wealth equal to Blue Dragon Doss and Red Dragon Kleyna, which boosted his vanity, hence his smugness.

”Kedelos, come forward,” Karon turned his gaze towards the expectant young Red Dragon and spoke.

Young Red Dragon Kedelos stretched his long neck and slowly paced to the throne.

Kedelos already lacked the desire to challenge the Master of the Dragon Clans, as his heart had long been shattered by the remnants of battle on the plains. Facing this fearsome Ancestral Red Dragon, Kedelos didn’t feel he could better than Ancestral Golden Dragon Oblash.

Even though the arrogance of the Red Dragon made him somewhat disdainful of the Ancestral Golden Dragon, the factual chasm rendered him apprehensive before the Master of the Dragon Clans.
