Beneath the Red Dragon

Silver Dragon Chris Tianna ultimately did not receive a response from the Great Dragon God, Bahamut. But until the banquet dissipated, with countless people leaving joyously with satisfied smiles and drunkenness, she remained deep in contemplation.

She no longer cared about the curious and scrutinizing gazes cast by the weak passersby. Her thoughts, once cocooned, were undergoing subtle transformations, and for the first time, the noble Silver Dragon began to reflect on herself.

Silver Dragon Chris had lived for countless years, and for the first time, her rigid dogma and obsessions were laid bare by a weak, short-lived species.

It made her start to reconsider whether the deeds of those good factions, wrapped in the guise of justice and crowned with light, truly aligned with the definition of sanctity.

However, creatures habitually obsessed with their beliefs often, once they overturn their original viewpoints and start seeing things from another perspective, fall into another extreme of obsessive change, causing their ideological inclinations to rapidly fall and spread to the opposite end.

The scenes previously masked under her assumed justifiable obsessions flowed past the Silver Dragon like water, and in her most active brain through her long years, she realized that the weak, short-lived species was indeed right.

Influenced since birth by the Dragon Inheritance and entrenched in fixed obsessions, Silver Dragon Chris discovered for the first time that many people and things in the world could not simply be categorized by alignment and preference.

Whether it was the Dragon Inheritance or the rigid dogmas circulating in the world, they endlessly constrained her thoughts, her heart, her soul.

”So, is this why the Great Platinum Dragon God, too, is unwilling to bestow his guidance and wisdom,”

Silver Dragon Chris dragged her chains, crawling out from the deep corridor, looking towards the luminous moon where the Moon Maiden hung.

At that moment, she realized that even the bright moon had shadows and night behind it, just like her once self-perceived noble aspirations and soul.

”Or is it even the great Platinum Dragon God, Bahamut, he also...” Silver Dragon Chris’s opened mind surged like a tide, uncontrollably for a moment.

Yet, as all the guests had departed and the mountaintop restored its tranquil atmosphere, a line of soldiers ascended the steps, capturing the attention of both the Silver Dragon and two Bronze Dragons.

Even those several dragons caught in a mental storm couldn’t help but focus completely on these soldiers at that moment.

For these soldiers guarded in groups, collectively lifting one heavy chest after another. These large chests were filled to the brim with heavy treasures.

They contained countless shimmering gemstones, gold coins, pearls, agates, conches, mithril, and other precious treasures, whose reflections in the moonlight were even more dazzling than the scales of the Silver Dragon.

Among them were refined precious metals and jewelry crafted from a variety of gemstones.

Mithril Bracelets, Refined Gold Necklaces, Golden Ornaments, Jade Earrings, Agate Hairpins, virtually every valuable item one could gather from the Icaria World could be found in these chests.

The aura and luster of these countless treasures caused the breaths of the dragons to instantly become heavy, and their slit-like pupils sparkled with interest—that was the greed of the dragons.

These dragons were completely unable to resist the greedy nature brought by the Dragon Blood; even if the Platinum Dragon God Bahamut were here, he couldn’t help but take a few more glances.

Even the heavily injured and slumbering Ancestral Golden Dragon Obilash, this Golden Dragon in its dreams, involuntarily lifted its head, despite having its eyes closed, and sniffed audibly between its nostrils, sensing the overly rich and enticing scent of wealth.

But at this moment, these adult dragons could only watch helplessly as this massive fortune flowed like water into the grand royal palace, eyeing each chest carried by the sizable group, each containing wealth surpassing the total accumulated assets of these dragons.

Were it not for being confined by the mighty power and magic of the Ancestral Red Dragon, perhaps at this moment, they would automatically exercise the dragon’s rationalization, dismissing these riches as evil blood and tears, and then openly claim them as their own.

This also directed the gazes of these three adult dragons towards the now notably quiet, magnificent King’s Castle.

The Silver Dragon’s four claws, at this moment, moved quietly like a big cat walking softly in the jungle, silencing the noise of its heavy body steps.

Gingerly using the wing claws on her wings to support the crimson chains, she carefully poked her graceful and dignified head beside the seemingly perpetually open grand door, peeking inside the castle.

The two adult Bronze Dragons also made the same choice at this moment, after seeing that the soldiers guarding the wealth-laden boxes did not stop Silver Dragon Chris.

These two Bronze Dragons mimicked Silver Dragon Chris, stealthily extending their heads into the entrance of the castle, spying on the situation inside.

These peculiar creatures, dragons, possessing endless life and seemingly inexhaustible energy, could easily spend countless days and nights living without rest, yet found it extremely difficult to focus their attention, making it incredibly challenging to concentrate on completing a single task.

Except when snoring in their nests, making these hot-tempered dragons quietly wait in silence is a very challenging task.

But the superior eyesight of the three adult Metal Dragons, surpassing the mighty eagles above, discovered that within the great hall of the castle, apart from the guards carrying chests of treasure, each Giant Dragon Lord was quietly ensconced on its seat.
