Beneath the Red Dragon

”Let me, let me, let me say those words,” the young white dragon Sloraka stretched his wings, excitedly baring his fangs and growling: ”How dare you defy the will of the Dragon Group,”

The young white dragon immediately turned to the teenage female white dragon Roni and shouted: ”Quick, Roni, help me, let’s beat this steel dragon together, let me step on her and say those words, I’m afraid I can’t handle her alone, one gold coin, no, one silver coin.”

This young white dragon was once severely beaten by the female red dragon Kleyna in the King’s Castle for offending the will of the Dragon Group, leaving the young white dragon Sloraka brooding over this past incident.

This guy, having once been caught in the rain, always thinks of taking apart others’ umbrellas. Because of this, he fears other giant dragons might be too lazy to help, and even plans to pay one silver coin to entice the teenage white dragon Roni to join him.

The teenage white dragon Roni rolled her vertical pupils, flicked her tail, and said: ”One gold coin and I’ll help you.”

”Damn it, I see you hovering around Gomot all day, always eager to help with whatever they have. When it’s my turn, you open the dragon’s mouth wide. I’m your brother who raised you from a young age!”

The young white dragon Sloraka growled discontentedly.

”Tch, if you were as pretty, strong, and smart as Gomot, I could help you for the price of a silver coin,” the teenage white dragon Roni dismissed him, turning her head aside disdainfully.

”Damn it, one gold coin then!” the young white dragon Sloraka stomped impatiently.

The teenage white dragon Roni got the price she was satisfied with, lazily crawling up from the right side of the white dragon Gomot, only to see the girl who claimed to be the steel dragon Midir now revealing her true form.

Immediately, the teenage white dragon Roni was left stupefied.

Not because the true form was particularly beautiful or strong, but because the figure was so unexpectedly small.

Now, among the Dragon Group, the physically smallest, teen white dragon Roni is larger in size than this mysterious steel dragon.

Steel dragons are known as the smallest of the giant dragon species, and as a trade-off, their spellcasting ability is extremely powerful.

The teenage steel dragon now seen in the group, with a body length of just over seven meters, resembles a cat, with expressive facial features appearing almost human-like, and spines growing around its face near the top of its head, resembling hair.

The body carries a humid metallic scent, with scales shining like gleaming steel plates.

Compared to other metal dragons, the steel dragon Midir has a slender frame and small head, with sword-like fringes extending from the head, elbows, and toes.

However, the steel dragon Midir’s wings appear particularly chic, resembling the shape of feathers composed of overlapping blades, and the scales on her chest are like an entire shield embedded into the chest and abdomen.

But at the moment the steel dragon Midir revealed herself, the Dragon Group instantly understood why she preferred meeting them in human form, as many giant dragons, not just the five-color dragons, but metal dragons as well, enjoy ridiculing the size of peer dragons of the same age in exchange for vain self-satisfaction.

”It’s my mistake, but I didn’t intentionally offend the majesty of the Dragon Group and the King!” As a dragon, Midir’s voice lacked the vibrance and liveliness of her girl form, instead carrying a steel-like timbre.

Karon nodded. ”You don’t need to be overly restrained; among dragons, one shouldn’t be bound by dense rituals,”

The red dragon cast its gaze toward the disappointed young white dragon Sloraka, his mouth showing a hint of uncontrolled smile, revealing his long fangs, and said cheerfully: ”Alright Sloraka, don’t be rude to our guest from afar; this is not the Dragon Group’s way of hospitality.”

Seeing the dejected young white dragon Sloraka slump back onto the long carpet, the red dragon turned back to the steel dragon and softly said, ”Please continue explaining your purpose, our distant alien scale brother.”

The steel dragon Midir nodded, saluted the King of Dragons, and then spoke again: ”Perhaps you are unaware, our steel dragon species, take pride in the mission granted to us by the Primordial Dragon God Ayo—to travel the world, gather wisdom, and spread it to many creatures,”

”But under this glorious mission, we also indulge in personal hobbies such as collecting small amounts of wealth, tiny artifacts, or bits of antiques,”

The steel dragon Midir, whose thin scales resemble steel sheets, spoke without any hint of embarrassment: ”Your display of great power in battle and your speech at the victory celebration left a profound impression on me. Through thoughtful reflection, I concluded you are a far-sighted, wise, and exceptionally strong leader.”

The Ancestral Red Dragon, with facial skin more sturdy and durable than his dragon scale defenses, thus calmly accepted the steel dragon’s praise.

”Therefore, I wish to use my wisdom and knowledge to add a bit of value to the Dragon Group, serving you, this exceptional leader, but given that combat is not my forte and I can’t offer strong support like other giant dragons, I hereby, with a nervous heart, actively request to join the Dragon Group!”

The steel dragon Midir’s rhetoric was appropriately graceful, humble without belittling herself, thanks to another innate gift of the steel dragon lineage—the teach of reflective thinking.
