Beneath the Red Dragon

In the dead of night, the Moon Maiden’s bright moon was already hanging in the middle of the sky, with moonlight pouring down like flowing water over the magnificent and vast Royal Court, much like it descended from the heavens to grace the mountaintop Divine Palace, mysterious and majestic.

But just a wall apart, it was a world of difference.

Inside that grand and spectacular hall, glasses clinked and dishes collided, drunken conversations were had, the atmosphere lively and boisterous.

Yet outside the castle, in the corridors, it was cold and silent, even the night wind seemed especially chilly. Sometimes, when the cold wind from the sky swept over the mountaintops, it could even seep through a dragon’s scales, scorching the skin beneath.

As a Silver Dragon, Silver Dragon Chris Tianna belonged to cold-blooded creatures. Her kind loved to nest in high mountains or clouds and naturally did not feel cold.

The piercing chill, on the contrary, made Chris more comfortable, but her dragon heart was still ice cold.

Locked in the deep corridor by the mighty power and magic of the Ancestral Red Dragon, Chris couldn’t even see the bright moon in the sky, which once represented her purity of heart and aspirations.

Of course, she could drag the chains and crawl out from the overlapping deep corridors, but she couldn’t bear such humiliation, like a watchdog dragging chains and wandering aimlessly.

At that moment, Chris Tianna felt as if the spine of her entire body had been removed, desiring only to lie there, motionless.

Watching the moonlight spill over the garden in the front courtyard of the King’s Castle, seeing the flowers swaying gently in the breeze, Chris felt that perhaps it would be better to become a thoughtless, senseless flower that didn’t need to think, maybe better than her current state.

She couldn’t comprehend why there were such domineering, arrogant giant dragons in the world. Just because they offended the other’s dignity, just because they disregarded the dignity of the territory’s people, they locked the noble Silver Dragon like a slave.

Although Silver Dragons and Golden Dragons are inherently kind, often pitying weaker creatures, this stems from seeing others as poor beings that need to look up to them.

In the eyes of giant dragons, merely unleashing Dragon Power to intimidate other species and humans was nothing significant. They hadn’t actually harmed anyone.

Chris also couldn’t fathom why such terrifyingly powerful giant dragons would emerge in the Icaria World. Even Ancestral Golden Dragon Obilash, bearer of Blood of Ancestors, during adolescence couldn’t possibly crush her head-on.

For Chris had severely reprimanded Obilash for his offence before. Perhaps the adolescent Ancestral Golden Dragon Obilash was brilliant enough to span an entire age group and contend with an adult giant dragon, but before Chris, he was still quite immature.

And that dreadful Red Dragon, though also bearing the Blood of Ancestors, faced three adult giant dragons yet effortlessly crushed them, trampling them beneath his claws.

This was unimaginable and unacceptable for the three adult giant dragons, especially for Silver Dragon Chris.

Although Chris didn’t display her pride outwardly, in her heart, she was prouder than the Ancestral Golden Dragon Obilash, who wore his pride openly.

Because the title of Silver Dragon Valkyrie wasn’t bragged into existence, it was earned through real challenges and combat.

Silver Dragon Chris, possessing adept combat skills and strong magic talent, never considered herself inferior to other giant dragons. Her targets were those past generations of giant dragons that traversed the Star Realm and roamed the Endless World, those legendary dragons even famous in the Star Realm.

But now, she had become a captive, a slave who couldn’t even possess freedom.

Her proud combat skills seemed clumsy compared to that strong Red Dragon; her relied-upon magic talent was nothing but a drizzle before the mighty power of the Red Dragon, her pride a mere joke under his disdain.

Chris felt that her heart was as cold as the moonlight at this moment, the chill penetrating the Silver Dragon’s body, sapping the strength from her limbs until she could only lay powerlessly upon the cold stone.

Deep down, she even sought the teachings of the Platinum Dragon God Bahamut, praying that the great Platinum Dragon God could dispel the confusion and bewilderment in her heart.

Chris couldn’t understand why Silver Dragons, who pursued justice, demonstrated kindness, and helped the weak, still found themselves mired in poverty and struggle, while these Evil Dragons enjoyed the tribute of countless people’s sweat and blood, dwelling in such luxurious and grand palaces, living recklessly.

Even she, the renowned Silver Dragon Valkyrie, Chris Tianna, would for the sake of Two Thousand Gold Coins, willingly become the guardian for that proud Ancestral Golden Dragon, accompany Obilash in foolishly provoking the Dragon Group.

Even the famed affluent estate of Mogesa, Obilash’s father, the Golden Dragon Earl, couldn’t compare to this magnificent castle, revealing how these Evil Dragons employed magic to seduce and used power to exploit the subjects of these lands.

”Could it be that evil in this world ultimately prevails over noble justice, great Platinum Dragon God? Your beloved and subject, Chris Tianna, prays for your great wisdom!”

For a long time, Silver Dragon Chris only opened her eyes, revealing a look of disappointment. As expected, even as great as the Platinum Dragon God, could not respond to his beloved at all times; perhaps it was related to Silver Dragon’s shallow faith.
