Beneath the Red Dragon

The meeting of the Dragon Group was supposed to end in a lively atmosphere, but Chief Maid Charlize quietly paced under the throne of the Red Dragon, softly reporting news, causing the Red Dragon, coiling its body, to slightly furrow its brow decorated with scales as fine as tiny gemstones.

”Someone seeks an audience? At this time?”

Karon repressed a bit of agitation and annoyance in his heart, gently smoothing the furrow in his brow with claws as if forged from steel.

Even though Dragon Blood could no longer easily affect Karon, every creature has a certain tolerance for repetitive work and behaviors.

Moreover, upon waking from slumber, the vast Power of Heart Energy accumulated combined with his bloodline source to birth an innate instinct calling to him.

It called upon this Ancestral Red Dragon to, with unmatched power, tear apart one by one these weak yet slightly beneficial Giant Dragons before him, treating them as his prey.

To devour their flesh and blood, to grind their sinews and bones, satisfying his hunting instinct and desire to feast.

Hence, Karon sat solemnly in the Royal Court, constantly restraining and suppressing his instincts every moment as he surveyed the Dragon Group.

His gift comes from bloodline, yet it is stronger than bloodline alone, especially as the Ancestral Dragon Blood that submits to Karon’s will continues to be suppressed, passively triggering a more intense resistance, making the revived Ancestral Dragon Blood purer, stronger.

The combination of both contributes to a slight influence on Karon.

Transforming the temperament of this Ancestral Red Dragon to become slightly more explosive, less profound and inscrutable than before; every action, every gaze involuntarily revealing a certain sharp essence.

It is the essence of this Ancestral Red Dragon, manifesting as the apex predator feeding on the roots of all things. Though Karon endeavored to restrain his power, he hasn’t yet achieved perfect control; a fairly long period is needed for practice.

The reason the Dragon Group appears so well-behaved before the Red Dragon is not due to the Red Dragon’s might; they are long acquainted with the nature of their Dragon Group leader and have grown accustomed to interacting with each other.

But the edges that Karon unconsciously reveals make it difficult for the Dragon Group to restrain themselves, tightly closing the scales on their backs as if small creatures being watched by a predator, leaving no time for laughing or chatting.

Karon chose to face combat with three adult Giant Dragons alone, also in part to vent his power through battle, hoping to swiftly master his own transformation.

Unfortunately, although the three adult Giant Dragons opposing him are commendable in strength, especially the Silver Dragon Chris, they still cannot force him to use his full power in front of the current Ancestral Red Dragon.

The identity of Ancestral Red Dragon might represent the greatest strength and highest status for other Giant Dragons, but for the present Karon, it’s merely a starting point.

Though Karon was irritable, the Dragon Group also found it hard to curb their excitement, but under the slightly stern expression of the Ancestral Red Dragon, each one acted like a big cat playing dumb after making a mistake, wings tucked to the sides of their bodies, forelimbs standing upright, hind legs coiled into a seated posture.

”Let her in then, it might as well serve as an introduction to the Dragon Group, saving the need for future re-acquaintance.”

Karon’s deep voice resonated, Chief Maid Charlize hurriedly shook the golden bell at her waist, conveying her signal.

In such a setting, at this time, ordinarily no one would choose to seek an audience with the master of the Dragon Group; even those eager to extend an olive branch like Vampire Count Renis and representatives of various noble forces wisely left the Royal Court after enjoying the banquet.

Even a Demon from Hell would maintain courteous demeanor before deceiving you into signing a contract.

Choosing to seek an audience at this timing, a thought instantly arose in Karon’s mind that the visitor must be a Giant Dragon.

Only creatures like Giant Dragons, even after some education, habitually act straightforwardly, often maintaining a large part of their self-willed style.

Upon seeing the visitor in the deep night, Karon’s mind immediately affirmed his suspicion.

The visitor was a Giant Dragon transformed into a human form, appearing as a delicate and lively young girl with gray, sparkling eyes, looking quite vibrant.

Her short hair was an iron color, and like some cosplay enthusiasts, she wore decorative steel jewelry styled trinkets both at her chest and waist, further highlighting this characteristic.

But the true form of this Giant Dragon under the Transformation Skill could hardly escape Karon’s true sight.

Considered part of the Metal Dragons, yet not one of the ten orthodox True Dragons in Icaria World, but an alien species within Metal Dragons—Steel Dragon.

The gaze of the Dragon Group, still simmering with excitement, fell upon Steel Dragon Midir who slowly stepped through the grand entrance of the Royal Hall, awakening the spirit of this Steel Dragon Midir, transformed into a slender yet short girl, from the awe-inspiring shock struck by this majestic and grandiose castle.

Even though in the Dragon’s heritage, Steel Dragon Midir was aware of many magnificent and more splendid structures, in the Material World, it is near impossible to find an edifice comparable to this giant fortress specifically designed and built for Dragons.

The enormous castle was constructed entirely of rocks as solid as steel, covered with a dense magical aura like a halo enveloping the fortress, akin to a Divine Hall truly shrouded in the radiance of Divine Spirits.
