Chapter 988: Chapter 348: Second Form (Double-Length Chapter) (Part 2)

But in the next second, Merita was shocked to find that Lord Rein before her suddenly stood up.

Then, several hundred meters up in the air, he suddenly leaped, diving toward Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius.

”Ah!”

This elicited a sharp scream from her.

”Oh my! Miss Anna, Lord Rein has gone down!”

”This... this... is Lord Rein going to fight the Ancestor Dragon?” Merita asked, her face pale with fear.

”Yes, because the other party injured someone very important to Rein,” Anna replied, much calmer, although she had hidden worries but seemed to possess a mysterious faith in Rein.

....

In the swift descent, Rein activated the core skill ’Weakness Control’ of his epic-level profession ’King of Thousand Blades’ for the second time.

Instantly, a three-dimensional pattern of Kolaxius’ enormous form unfolded in Rein’s vision, marked with blue, yellow, and red dots to indicate varying defensive strengths.

About four-fifths of the opponent’s area glowed blue, signifying a strong defense.

The remaining areas mostly gleamed with yellow, indicating intermediate defense.

Only the tips of the fleshy wings, the inner thighs, and some side scales on the abdomen had faint red dots.

Of course, these points weren’t constant; as Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius shifted body positions during the battle, these weak points (red dots) would transform into yellow dots.

Evidently, the Ancestor Dragon’s body is exceptionally tough, precisely matching the intel provided by Olena; its melee abilities are extremely powerful, with almost no physical defense weaknesses.

”However... my strength happens to be close combat too!” Rein narrowed his eyes, making a swift decision.

Upon sensing the sudden approach of this little dot in mid-air, Kolaxius naturally noticed it but didn’t care.

The scales on its back were particularly thick, one of its strongest defensive areas.

If any enemy intended to launch a threatening attack from its back, it would definitely scoff at the notion.

Simply laughable!

At this moment, it was annoyed by those barbarian warriors in front, these thick-headed fools still attacking fearlessly.

Just like a person being stung by dozens of bees; while bees may inflict a single sting just before death, it’s painful nonetheless.

Thus, Kolaxius focused its attention primarily on these ’bees’.

...

Meanwhile, Rein in the air canceled the Floating Technique, his entire body accelerating downward due to gravity.

A gust of fierce wind ripped through his white Wizard Robe, revealing the glimmering silver Secret Silver Engraved Plate Armor underneath, while his Hardened Essence Gold instantly morphed into a long Riding Spear.

This rendered his descent toward the battlefield like a plunging silver meteor, with a target set straight for the back of Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius.

...

”Look, what is that!”

Everyone, allies and foes alike, noticed the silver meteor.

It was far too conspicuous.

Being directly overhead of Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius, impossible to ignore.

”It looks like it’s going to attack that monster!”

”But isn’t that where the Ancestor Dragon’s defense is strongest, much too reckless...”

The elite barbarian warriors surrounding Kolaxius exclaimed in amazement.

A few hours ago, the Wizard from Winterfort Academy had provided them with some combat notes regarding Kolaxius.

Like how Kolaxius’s physical defense was incredibly strong, especially its back and limbs, boasting absolutely epic-level defense strength, so Winterfort Academy highly advised against close combat with Kolaxius.

But for the barbarians, it seemed they had no other choice.

They could only focus on attacking Kolaxius’s eyes, fleshy wings, and other relatively weak spots.

Just like Clan Leader Dalius did earlier, choosing to hack at Kolaxius’s fleshy wings rather than its mighty limbs or thick-scaled back.

And lying on the ground, blood seeping from the corner of her mouth, Lagaray also noticed the straight downward silver meteor nearby.

From this distance, she could naturally discern its form and general appearance.

Hmm?

This familiar figure and face?!

Lagaray’s beautiful eyes widened, mouth slightly gaped, bearing an incredulous expression as she watched Rein descending from the sky!

”Oh my god! Rein?!”

”How could it be him?”

”How could he be here in Frostwind Prairie?”

”And, at this precise moment???”

For a fleeting moment, Lagaray’s feelings were tangled, hoping it was Rein while wishing it wasn’t!

Like a princess about to be taken by a villainous dragon, encountering the very hero she yearned for to rescue her.

Yet she wished her hero wouldn’t come.

Because the dragon was too powerful....

”No! The back is where the Ancestor Dragon’s strongest defense lies, you fool, don’t attack there!”

Just as Lagaray turned red with urgency, wanting to shout to warn Rein, a mouthful of blood surged forth.

”Cough cough cough!”

”It’s over!”

Having just broken out from the blue ice, severely wounded Norton Clan Leader Dalius saw Rein actually opting to attack the Ancestor Dragon’s back, and couldn’t help but shake his head sadly.

He could tell Rein’s strike was powerful, had he chosen to attack the fleshy wings of the Ancestor Dragon, it would likely yield some result.
