Chapter 976: Chapter 345 Beverly Pass (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

At this moment, Rein seemed to sense something, turned around and looked behind him, only to see Merita staring at him blankly.

”Awake? Lady Merita, good morning.” Rein smiled and said.

Early in the morning, Rein had unexpectedly acquired a core skill, so naturally, he was in a good mood.

”Re-Rein, good morning.” Merita replied awkwardly.

”Rein, Merita, you two woke up quite early!” Hearing their voices, Anna groggily woke up.

...

Soon, the three of them prepared to set off again.

However, when Rein walked up to the Blood Feathered Horned Eagle Beast, he found himself at a loss, glancing at Anna and then at Merita, unable to come up with any good suggestions.

Anna seemed to have thought of something, her steps slowing down as she nervously and shyly clutched the corner of her white Wizard Robe.

She had thought about changing positions.

Like switching places with Merita.

But that would mean she would be behind, embracing Rein, while Rein embraced Merita.

The moment this image appeared, Anna shook her head slightly.

Because in that case, Rein would very likely be pointing a gun at Merita....

So it’s better to... continue pointing at her...

Merita also seemed to remember yesterday’s situation, her face reddening slightly. Yesterday’s close contact made it impossible to claim she felt nothing, especially since the other party was a powerful, wealthy, and handsome young man.

Therefore, at this moment, Merita felt a difficult-to-describe sensation about sitting behind Rein again.

She wanted it... yet resisted it...

This caused Merita to feel annoyed towards the Blood Feathered Horned Eagle Beast.

Can’t it just fly properly?

Can’t it glide smoothly like a normal bird?

It insists on flapping its wings and bobbing up and down, how is one supposed to endure that...

However, although the three of them had different thoughts, they all remained silent.

It seemed everything was continuing in tacit understanding.

Rein was still in the middle, with the two women in front and behind, sitting on the Blood Feathered Horned Eagle Beast, continuing toward the Beverly Mountains.

....

At noon, Blood Feather landed for a brief rest.

”Lord Rein, in another half a day, we’ll reach the Beverly Pass in Casweis Province.” Merita, more familiar with the journey, explained.

”By the way, Lady Merita, could you introduce the Wind Roc group in the Beverly Mountains?” Rein couldn’t help asking.

Rein had just glanced at the Empire Northern Border map and discovered that the Beverly Mountains stretched east to west and spanned over a thousand kilometers. Actually, if they could go straight through, it would save them quite a bit of time.

Since the Beverly Pass was at the northeast corner of their current position, the line connecting them forms a diagonal.

The map provided by Olena mentioned briefly that Wind Roc were fierce and numerous, but didn’t elaborate.

”Of course, Lord Rein, Wind Roc is a naturally fierce species of bird of prey that hunts all creatures within its territory.”

”Adult Wind Roc have the innate ability of Wind Blade, comparable in power to the Wind Blade Technique used by Wind Mage.”

At this point, Anna also curiously looked at Merita, clearly interested in the creature Wind Roc.

”If it’s just one Wind Roc, it wouldn’t be an issue for Wizards or even Great Knights. But the problem is, when Wind Roc go out for food, it’s always dozens at a time. Can you imagine the scene of dozens of Wind Blades sweeping in on the sky?”

As Merita spoke, she seemed to think of that scene, and her face showed caution.

Rein nodded.

That’s how it is.

Indeed, if dozens of Wind Blades came, even for a Second Level Liquidization Wizard, it would be hard to withstand. Defensive power of Second Level defensive witchcraft also has its limits.

As for a First Level Wizard?

Most likely to die on the spot, of course, he is not included.

To withstand dozens of Wind Blades without a scratch, apart from dodging, the direct counter would likely require the level of a Third Level Crystallization Wizard.

”By the way, how fast are Wind Roc?” Rein asked again.

Logically, if Wind Roc’s speed wasn’t fast enough, the Blood Feathered Horned Eagle Beast could certainly cross right through.

”Wind Roc can naturally manipulate Wind Energy Particles, don’t mention your Horned Owl Beast, even the speed of Imperial Griffin pales slightly in comparison.”

”To go straight through, unless you are an Imperial Dragon Knight, it is unlikely.”

Seemingly recalling something, Merita paused momentarily, then continued:

”Additionally, the Wind Roc group has male hunting Wind Roc, whose strength surpasses that of ordinary Wind Roc.”

”As for other Mutated Wind Roc and the like, it’s unknown. But calculating in tens of thousands, this number of Mutated Wind Roc is probably not small, at least a hundred.”

”Of course, the most terrifying is the Wind Roc Queen!”

”Wind Roc Queen?” Rein exclaimed in surprise.

”Yes!”

”The total number of Wind Roc in the Beverly Mountains is over tens of thousands, all led by a Wind Roc Queen of epic level strength. It’s said that the Empire thought of eliminating them, but abandoned the idea after considering the potential loss.”

”Then why is the Wind Roc attack avoided at the Beverly Pass?” Anna asked curiously.

”The Purple Knotwood Forest on the pass releases a peculiar gas all year round, which causes Wind Roc to feel disgusted and uncomfortable, making them actively avoid that area.”
