Chapter 985: Chapter 347: Fearless (Double-Length Chapter) (Part 3)

’Damn!’

...

As the white-furred bear monsters withdrew, the battle seemed to have ended somewhat hastily.

Since the Norton Tribe consisted of the entire clan including the elderly, women, children, and baggage in the middle, even Clan Leader Dalius did not launch a counterattack on the bear monsters, instead seizing the time to heal the wounded and calm the people.

In the center of the yak caravan, inside a newly erected tent.

The elite barbarian captains, including Lagaray, were all summoned to hold a brief wartime meeting.

”High Priest, Clan Leader, this is the third wave of white-furred bear monsters we’ve encountered. The warriors aren’t getting adequate rest, fighting consecutively, and the number of injured is increasing,” said the barbarian captain named Jorn, wiping blood from his face and speaking in a deep voice.

”What about the Reach people? How long before they can get here?” Dalius turned to ask his trusted aide.

”Uh... the Reach people said they were also attacked by the Black Flame Cult, and it’s estimated they’ll take another three days to get here.”

”Three days...” Dalius frowned deeply, muttering to himself.

Upon hearing this number, the expressions of those present darkened considerably.

Lagaray, too, was panting heavily. After continuous fighting, she had several shallow wounds on her body, and the edge of the giant shield in her hand was also heavily worn, but her eyes still shone brightly.

At this moment, the Messenger at the door came to report.

”High Priest, Clan Leader, a female wizard has arrived outside. She says she’s from Winterfort Academy and has important information for the Clan Leader and High Priest.”

”Winterfort Academy? Invite them in,” said Dalius, as the barbarian Clan Leader, he had naturally heard of this wizard organization also from the Northland, but the two sides almost never interacted.

Soon, a dignified middle-aged woman wearing a white robe walked in and bowed:

”High Priest Rom, Clan Leader Dalius, good day to you both, I am Werti, Vice President of Winterfort Academy.”

”I came here abruptly to inform you of very important news: the Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius in the Ice Field has started moving in this direction.”

”It will take at most half a day, or at most a day more, for it to arrive here.”

This news was like a thunderbolt, immediately changing the color of everyone’s face present!

”What, so soon!” Dalius’s eyes widened, staring at the female wizard before him.

Currently, just Kolaxius’s followers, this considerable number of white-furred bear monsters, have already brought them great trouble.

If that Ancestor Dragon comes in person, the consequences are imaginable!

Knowing that the Reach people haven’t arrived yet, even with Dalius’s confidence, he doesn’t think just their Norton Tribe alone can defeat the reportedly powerful Kolaxius.

Barbarians are brave, but they are not foolish.

”Yes, Clan Leader Dalius, that’s why we’ve come. To Winterfort Academy, Kolaxius is also an enemy. Its savage nature has slaughtered and disrupted the peace of the Northland.”

”You may not know, but our Winterfort Academy has already had a great war with this Ancestor Dragon before. Winterfort Academy... Since I’ve informed you now, I’ll return immediately to organize the academy’s defenses.”

After explaining this, the dignified middle-aged woman Werti took her leave.

”Thank you, Vice President Werti, the Norton people will remember this in their hearts.”

...

Half a day passed by in a flash.

Then, the horn sounded!

The white-furred bear monsters lined up densely again, and together with the wandering knights and mercenaries recruited by the Black Flame Church, launched another fierce attack on the Norton Tribe back-to-back.

But this time was different; the elite barbarians, including Lagaray, all sensed the rising momentum of the bear monsters!

Suddenly, everyone on the battlefield looked up at the sky.

”Roar!!!”

In the distant horizon, a creature resembling a giant dragon appeared. Though the other party should be at a great distance, its colossal size was quite conspicuous.

And as the resounding dragon roar echoed, it flapped its enormous wings, rapidly closing in.

”Oh my God! What kind of monster is that!”

Many courageous Norton barbarians widened their eyes, looking at the huge creature flying in from the horizon.

They saw that it was completely different from the dragons in their impressions. The other party didn’t have a long neck, nor did it have large, shimmering scales. Even the head lacked the kind of dragon horns seen on the Five-Colored Giant Dragons.

Its bare head was more like a lizard, with a massive lower jaw that clearly indicated a powerful biting force, a short and thick neck, and moreover, extremely robust hind legs.

If Rein was on the scene, he would definitely exclaim, ”This is just a hybrid of a Tyrannosaurus and a Pterosaur!”

”Barbarians of the tundra, submit or be destroyed.” A grand and deep voice echoed across the battlefield, resonating with the shock from the Ancestor Dragon’s chest.

And as the enormous shadow was cast down, Kolaxius’s overwhelming presence, along with the buzzing resonance still in the air, even the bravest barbarian warriors felt fear at this moment.

A sense of impending doom almost arose in every barbarian’s heart.

This had nothing to do with courage.

Simply put, it was an instinctual fear of a superior being.

”High Priest, battle song!” Among the barbarians present, only a few, including Clan Leader Dalius, were not panicked.

Of course, this was also thanks to the prior notification from Winterfort Academy, which acted as an early warning. He quickly turned his head and shouted to High Priest Rom at the rear.
