Chapter 973: Chapter 344: Herb Baked Eggs (Two-in-One Chapter)_3

”It is indeed very delicious, I like it very much, Lady Merita.” Anna took a sip, her beautiful eyes lighting up.

”As long as you both like it.”

”Uh... Merita, you can just call me Anna. As for Rein, he indeed deserves to be called ’Lord’.” Anna covered her mouth and laughed lightly.

”Lord Rein is from the Empire...?”

Rein shook his head helplessly at Anna’s behavior of revealing their background.

He finally understood why Anna’s aunt, Lady Delana, was particularly worried about Anna being deceived away; she was simply too innocent.

”Lady Merita, I do hold a position in the Empire, but the specifics... may be inconvenient to disclose.”

”No wonder the Hammerfall Guard opened the gate specifically for you, I had such a suspicion at the time.” Merita said with a smile.

”By the way, Lady Merita, please tell me in detail about the task you wish to entrust to me? I’ll have to continue my journey in a while.”

”Certainly, Lord Rein.” Merita nodded with a joyful expression.

”Here’s the situation: in the Northland, an Ancestor Dragon has appeared, named...” Merita introduced while observing Rein’s expression.

She noticed a fleeting expression of surprise on Rein’s face and thought to herself with satisfaction, ’Finally moved.’

Actually, Rein was surprised by such a coincidence; the other party indeed intended to request his help in taking down that Ancestor Dragon named Kolaxius.

After all, he had already planned to understand the strength of that Ancestor Dragon after finding Lagaray.

Because he needed to absorb new Dragon Genes to further enhance the concentration of his Dragon Bloodline.

This was crucial to his Legendary career, its importance was self-evident.

”As for the reward, I noticed just now that you seem to be a Metal Series Wizard. And I happen to know the former residence of a deceased Metal Series Wizard from the Northland, nicknamed ’Cutter’, who was a Second Level Liquidization Wizard.”

”According to reliable sources, this person suddenly died violently while attempting crystallization. So, his signature witchcraft, the ’Cutting Net’ he had improved, should have remained.”

Hearing this, the smile on Rein’s face gradually faded.

He initially thought Merita had that Metal Series Witchcraft ’Cutting Net’ in her possession, but it turned out she only knew of its whereabouts.

Moreover, knowing the location, but not retrieving it indicated there must be issues there!

”I have a question.”

”Lady Merita, if this Metal Series Witchcraft is so rare and has been improved, it must be invaluable. Why haven’t you fetched it?” Rein asked, staring into Merita’s eyes, his voice deep.

”That’s because the residence is at the easternmost part of the Frostwind Prairie, in the Wailing Wind Fjord. I went there a while ago and discovered that place was occupied by a tribe of thick-shelled crustaceans.”

”Their numbers are large, and their thick shells have high defensive power; it was difficult for me to reach the target location with my combat capability. But with your strength, these are not issues.”

”So, Lady Merita, I understand your meaning; you want me to help you confront an Ancestor Dragon whose strength is between the Legendary Peak and Epic Level, and the reward is specific information about a Metal Series Witchcraft, am I right?”

Hearing Rein’s words, Merita’s charming face immediately showed a shy expression.

At this time, Merita calmed her mind and realized that her trade terms were somewhat excessive.

”Lord Rein, I truly apologize, but it seems this is the only thing I can offer that you’d deem valuable,” Merita explained, a bit embarrassed.

After all, the risk Rein had to take was greater than the gain.

”Lord Rein, to show my sincerity, I am willing to accompany you to the Wailing Wind Fjord.”

”Of course, if you still find it unacceptable, I completely understand. Thanks again for the assistance you provided in the Hammerfall Tunnel...” Merita bowed slightly to Rein.

”No, I agree!” Rein waved his hand, saying.

”Hmm?” Merita’s eyes widened in surprise, staring at Rein, momentarily stunned.

He actually agreed?

But clearly, it isn’t equivalent.

This...

Merita couldn’t understand why at all at that moment.

However, upon hearing this news, she was naturally overjoyed. She quickly came to her senses and thanked Rein:

”Thank you, Lord Rein! That’s wonderful!”

”By the way, Lord Rein, Miss Anna, please allow me to prepare a simple campfire dinner for you both as gratitude.” Merita offered happily.

”Additionally, this is my homemade eggnog, please have a taste.”

”Well, thank you, Lady Merita.” Rein and Anna exchanged a smile and nodded at Merita.

After all, no matter how hurried, dinner was necessary.

As the campfire rose.

Merita skillfully pulled out some seasoning items and a small box containing many herbs and about a dozen bird eggs the size of chicken eggs.

”I didn’t prepare many raw materials today; I can only make herbal baked eggs for you.”

...

Minutes later, Rein held a dish reminiscent of the pancakes from his previous life, eating it.

Honestly, the taste wasn’t bad.

For a moment, Rein couldn’t help but think of something.

After transitioning to the Legendary profession ’Dragon Vein Wizard’, perhaps he could consider taking up a future profession as a Cook.

At least, it wouldn’t disappoint his stomach.

But for Rein’s appetite, one herbal baked egg was definitely too little.
