Chapter 977: Chapter 345 Beverly Pass (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_3

...

Afternoon.

Just as Blood Feather flew over a small town, even at hundreds of meters in the air, Rein faintly heard screams coming from below.

This made him look down.

He saw several people in black robes, seemingly driving the crowd into a building at the center of the town, and those who disobeyed were killed on the spot.

”Rein, they seem to be the Black Flame Cult.” Anna also immediately noticed something familiar about these black-robed people.

”Hmm!” Rein’s expression darkened as he immediately controlled Blood Feather to dive towards the building that resembled a church.

At this moment, inside the church hall.

Several Black Flame Monks hosting the ritual had just finished chanting, and the entire blood sacrifice ritual seemed to have reached its final closing stage.

At the center of the Evil Magic Array, the previously transparent diamond-shaped crystal at the top of the bone staff was now enveloped in an extremely dense blood color.

Throughout the church, hundreds of town residents lay curled up and scattered on the ground, with faces terrified and emaciated, dying horribly!

Clearly, the blood essence of these town residents had been absorbed into the diamond crystal by the blood sacrifice ritual.

”Not bad, it’s finally done!”

”The quality of this blood crystal is good, we should all be rewarded by the cult.” A Black Flame Monk said with a smile.

Just as he was about to retrieve the bone staff and blood crystal with a relaxed gait, suddenly, the glass spire at the top of the church burst open.

Then, a violent gust of wind roared as fragments scattered, and a giant bird with blue and purple feathers descended from the sky!

”How could a fierce species of bird suddenly attack us?” The faces of the Black Flame Monks froze in shock, with this thought flooding their minds.

Blood Feather dived down, fiercely knocking the stunned Black Flame Monk to the ground.

”Ah!!!”

Blood Feather’s iron claws were incredibly sharp, easily tearing open the chest and abdomen of the unprepared Black Flame Monk, causing him to scream incessantly.

”Not good! There’s someone on that bird!”

”Enemy attack!!!” The remaining four or five Black Flame Monks reacted, shouting loudly.

But the next second!

”Swish, swish, swish!”

The sound of sharp weapons breaking through the air echoed, and the four or five Black Flame Monks were all frozen in place, their eyes wide open in disbelief.

Soon after, the sound of heavy objects hitting the ground echoed, with the Black Flame Monks falling flat on their backs.

The foreheads of these Black Flame Monks were pierced with a four-pointed shuriken.

It was Rein who acted.

After annihilating the Black Flame Monks with a single move, Rein jumped down from the Horned Owl Beast with a serious expression, looking around.

The scene before him instantly reminded him of the cult attack that once happened in Flashgold Town.

This scene was too familiar to him.

”These bastards from the Black Flame Cult!” Rein said with a heavy expression.

”It’s definitely them, Lord Rein, in the past year, the activities of these Black Flame Monks in several provinces of the Northern Border have been quite frequent, causing many tragic incidents.” Merita walked up beside him, also looking serious.

Merita was also extremely disgusted with these cult organizations that slaughtered ordinary people.

Rein nodded, calming his emotions slightly, then walked to the center of the Evil Magic Array, taking the bone staff and crushing the blood crystal.

At this moment, a system prompt sounded:

[Ding! A large amount of unknown absorbable energy detected, absorb? (Note: After absorption, it can be converted into specific Professional Experience Points.)]

....

Seeing this prompt, Rein, who should have been happy, felt no happiness at all, only heaviness.

However, after some thought, Rein chose ’Yes’!

At the same time, he silently said in his heart, ”Rest in peace, your blood will not be wasted... these bastards will pay a bigger price, in blood!”

The next second, the dense blood essence in the diamond crystal surged toward Rein’s body like a flood finding the breach of a dam.

However, perhaps due to Rein’s recent increase in power, he could clearly feel that the energy level of this blood essence was relatively low.

As the blood color of the crystal rapidly faded, Rein also completed the absorption process, and the system prompt sounded again:

[Ding! A total of 1311 supernatural experience points converted, please choose to upgrade Deadly Poison Master (Transcendent) / Great Armor Forger (Transcendent).]

Rein glanced and found that both Deadly Poison Master (Transcendent) and Great Armor Forger (Transcendent) were currently lv6, but the Deadly Poison Master (Transcendent) could level up again with these additional points.

With a bit of thought, Rein chose the Deadly Poison Master (Transcendent).

The next second, a system prompt appeared before Rein:

[Congratulations, your Deadly Poison Master (Transcendent) profession level has increased!]

...

Rein’s action of crushing the blood-colored crystal didn’t arouse any suspicion from Merita beside him, she just thought Rein had acted out of anger.

In the ensuing journey, Rein and his group discovered another small town that had been attacked by the Black Flame Cult.

This gave Rein a clearer understanding of the situation in the Empire’s Northern Border.

It seems the situation of the Empire is more turbulent than I imagined...

”We’ve arrived, Lord Rein, there is the Beverly Pass, see.” Merita pointed below to the left, saying excitedly.

Rein looked over to see a noticeably lower valley between the towering mountains ahead, as if a notch had been carved into the high mountains.
