His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1775: Chapter 496: Just a Drink 4

The old man wasn’t very keen on engaging, and after reliving the feeling of being followed as a commander in the army, he sat sullenly in the private dining room.

However, it didn’t take long before someone knocked on their private room’s door, and Qin Mu opened it to find it was Lu Fei.

”Sister Qin, I’m having dinner with grandpa. He heard that Mu Grandpa is here and asked me to invite him over for a chat.”

Chat?

Can two old men really get together just to chat?

Qin Mu turned her head to look at the old man behind the dining table, believing he had heard everything.

”Which room? Is there anyone else there?”

The old man lifted his head to ask at the door.

”No, just us two!”

Lu Fei replied to the old man.

”Alright! I’ll go over, you stay here. You three young ones eat together, and us two old things are a perfect match!”

The old man nodded, stood up, and walked out.

”Not a single drop of alcohol!”

Mu Yichen knew he couldn’t stop grandpa and that forcefully stopping him would create resentment, so he only said these words seriously as the old man got up.

It seemed like the old man didn’t hear him at all.

”Grandpa! Really, no drinking! Once you recover, you can gather with your old friends and drink whatever you like, and Yichen and I will host!”

Qin Mu held him softly before the old man stepped out, coaxing him gently.

The old man grunted and then walked out with his head down.

Qin Mu felt a bit uneasy, worried that the old man might drink.

Later, Lu Fei didn’t dare to eat with the two of them. Mu Yichen’s cold eyes seemed to despise her intensely, so she just greeted them and went to listen to the old man tell stories.

The old man, seeing her return to the room, asked her puzzled, ”You, girl, didn’t I tell you to eat with the couple?”

”Grandpa, your grandson — I don’t dare to eat with him. It would ruin my digestion!”

Lu Fei couldn’t help but sarcastically remark and picked up her chopsticks after sitting down.

”Come to think of it, your grandson’s bad temper is just like yours when you were young, always putting on a sour face, making people lose their appetite!”

The Lu Family old man took a bite of food, not forgetting to criticize.

”Hmph! You’re just blatantly jealous. Isn’t it just because my grandson is a bit more outstanding? He has my ambition. Didn’t you notice?”

The Mu Family old man was not convinced, saying that his bad temper was something only he could criticize.

——

Qin Mu and Mu Yichen ate alone, occupying a luxurious private room. Qin Mu felt a bit uncomfortable, but still picked up her chopsticks to start eating.

After the old man had left, Mu Yichen ordered two glasses of red wine. When the waiter brought the wine, Mu Yichen lifted his gaze slightly, ”Grandpa’s not here, have a drink with me!”

Qin Mu glanced at the wine bottle, which looked like it was already half-consumed. She wasn’t sure with whom he had been drinking, but he was asking her to drink.

Alright, she kind of wanted to drink, too, so she put down her chopsticks.

After the waiter finished pouring and left, closing the door, only the two of them were left in the room. Qin Mu lifted her wine glass, lightly sniffed it near her lips and nose, and then said to Mu Yichen, ”If Grandpa finds out we’re secretly drinking here, he’d probably not talk to you for several days.”

”That would only be a few days! Plus, his memory is bad; he’d forget quickly!”

Mu Yichen wasn’t too worried, resting one hand on Qin Mu’s chair, his dark eyes lazily gazing at his wife.

”What’s this? You’re not planning to scare me away too, after scaring Lu Fei away, are you?”

”Just a drink!”

Mu Yichen said, sitting opposite her and extending his wine glass toward her.

Qin Mu then realized what he wanted to do and lightly clinked glasses with him.

”Wait a second!”

Just as Qin Mu was about to drink, Mu Yichen suddenly stopped her.
