His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1759: Chapter 492: The New Assistant

”You’re changing the topic! Does Mr. Mu act all macho and say, ’Ahem! Mind your own business!’ to you?”

Xiaomei glanced mischievously at Qin Mu, then clasped her hands behind her back, mimicking the way she imagined Mu Yichen would act.

”You! You’re spending all your thoughts on these things. I hope you will have wider development in the future. Can’t you realize that?”

Qin Mu sighed helplessly, believing that Xiaomei naturally understood her, but she was still sincere.

”Uh! Even Jian Yan said I have no talent in design, so I’ll just give up. I already feel quite accomplished having the eye to appreciate it. Right now, I don’t have much to ask for.”

Xiaomei, feeling a bit down on herself, saw Qin Mu getting serious and spoke seriously as well.

”Then go out and get busy with your stuff!”

Qin Mu chuckled lightly, sending her away.

”Let’s chat a bit more!”

Xiaomei pouted unwillingly.

”I have to submit the drawing tomorrow morning. I can’t interrupt the performance of this great magician! Do you have money to pay him?”

Qin Mu asked, cleverly mentioning a fine.

The moment Xiaomei heard about the fine, she immediately turned and left, thinking she didn’t have money to compensate anyone and decided not to gossip.

Watching her leave, Qin Mu shook her head helplessly, then lowered her head and continued working seriously.

——

In the evening, Mu Yichen went to pick up Qin Mu to go home together. The weather forecast said it would rain at night, but there was still a crescent moon in the sky.

”The weather forecast is so unreliable!”

Qin Mu grumbled.

”It’s not the forecast that’s unreliable, it’s the weather!”

Mu Yichen seriously drove the car around most of the city, still making jokes with his wife.

Qin Mu glanced at him, captivated by his god-like handsome features that she could never get enough of.

”Mr. Mu can actually tell cold jokes now?”

Qin Mu looked at him with an involuntary admiration in her eyes.

Mu Yichen smiled softly without saying a word, just took her hand into his palm, fingers intertwined.

Qin Mu lowered her gaze, looking at their intertwined fingers. Both of their fingers were long, but Mu Yichen’s fingers were very strong, while Qin Mu’s were soft and boneless. Qin Mu couldn’t help but intertwine her fingers tightly with his, searching for a special sense of presence.

Mu Yichen’s eyes slightly flickered, seeming comforted by his wife’s actions, but his eyes remained fully focused on the road ahead.

——

After dinner, the family sat together drinking tea, as if waiting for a spring rain to come.

”Mumu, I’ve already found the expert you were looking for today. They’ll be coming from abroad in a few days and will contact the hospital directly!”

Mu Zihao took a sip of tea and looked up at Qin Mu.

”So fast?”

Qin Mu asked in surprise, still a bit incredulous.

”This small matter doesn’t require much effort!”

Mu Zihao, always easygoing, explained to Qin Mu.

”Yeah! Thank you, Dad!”

Qin Mu didn’t have anything else to say. All her gratitude was in those four words.

”We’re family. No need for such formalities!”

Mu Zihao said softly.

”What’s going on? What ’small matter’ are you two keeping secret?”

Feng Fanghua asked, looking at them mysteriously.

The old man also looked curiously at them, waiting for an explanation.

As for Mu Yichen, who had been informed by Qin Mu, he sat there calmly, playing with his wife’s fingers.

”Oh, it’s about Li Yu!”

Qin Mu didn’t avoid it. Although a bit nervous when speaking out, she remained calm.

Having already passed the hurdle with Mr. Mu, she wasn’t afraid of anything.

”You! Always meddling in others’ affairs!”

Feng Fanghua gave her a glance but didn’t say anything else.

Qin Mu just smiled and then looked at Mu Yichen.

Mu Yichen’s dark eyes glanced at her, and then he just played with her hand.

Everyone loved drinking tea, but Mu Yichen just didn’t like it.

He could hold Qin Mu on the sofa for an entire day, but he wouldn’t pour himself a cup of tea even if a pot was placed before him for a whole day.

Huanhuan and Chengcheng went upstairs to look at storybooks. Now, Huanhuan could already read to Chengcheng, reading pinyin quite well and recognizing some characters.

Qin Mu went to Chengcheng’s room, seeing the siblings in matching blue and pink pajamas on the small bed. Huanhuan had a children’s book on her lap, opened to some unknown page, reading earnestly to her little brother.

Chengcheng listened intently, his eyes mostly on the pictures on the pages.

It was as if he could find answers to what Huanhuan was reading from the illustrations.
