His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1774: Chapter 496: Just a Drink_3

Qin Mu raised her head when she heard the sound: ”It’s nothing, just that Grandpa needs to go to the hospital for a check-up later. Shall we accompany him?”

Mu Yichen’s eyes moved slightly, and then he said: ”Mm!”

Probably only Qin Mu could persuade the old man to go for a check-up. Mu Yichen suddenly realized what Mom and Dad were eavesdropping on earlier, and couldn’t help but chuckle as he walked out.

”You punk, what’s so funny?”

Unexpectedly, the old man spotted him.

”Oh, nothing, I just feel like having an old child at home is nice!”

Mu Yichen looked at his grandfather with half-closed eyes and spoke very understandingly.

”You brat, dare to talk nonsense again? Who’s the old child?”

The old man, feeling indignant, was just short of a cane in his hand; otherwise, he would have surely hit his grandson on the back.

Qin Mu released the old man and walked beside Mu Yichen, whispering to him: ”Don’t bully Grandpa!”

”Humph! I’ll bully both you and him!”

Mu Yichen grabbed her shoulder from behind, murmuring in her ear.

Qin Mu...

Qin Mu, seeing Mu’s shameless attitude, was already used to such words, though occasionally still feeling a chill in her heart.

After breakfast, Qin Mu and Mu Yichen took the old man to the hospital. The chief physician personally performed the check-up, confirming everything was fine, except for some tracheitis, and instructed them to go home immediately.

The chief physician nodded: ”We’ll have someone go to your home for an IV drip for the old man, okay?”

”That’s all we can do! Thank you!”

Mu Yichen nodded, standing beside and communicating with the chief physician. Qin Mu held her grandfather’s arm as they walked forward. Today the old man wore only a long shirt. It got a bit warm past ten, so he rolled up his sleeves. Qin Mu felt the skin on her grandfather’s arm was slack, as though the skin and bones were about to separate, which made her feel a sudden sense of loss.

”Mumu, why aren’t you talking?”

The old man noticed his granddaughter-in-law’s sudden silence, so he asked her while walking, without turning to see her downcast expression.

”Mm? I was thinking, should we have lunch outside today!”

Qin Mu looked up at her grandfather, speaking as she walked alongside him.

”Not bad! We can even have a little drink!”

Grandpa replied with great flair.

Qin Mu...

”Grandpa, you can’t drink alcohol now!”

Qin Mu had to look at him and spoke very seriously.

”Even you won’t let me drink?”

The old man stopped, a bit unhappy, frowning. If even Qin Mu stopped him, then no one at home would let him.

”Wait until your inflammation gets better, then I won’t care!”

Qin Mu said.

The old man sighed: ”Can’t I just have a small glass? It’s just the three of us at lunch, huh?”

”No way!”

Qin Mu shook her head very solemnly.

The old man...

Mu Yichen came out from inside, seeing the old man and Qin Mu talking about something with a somewhat strained expression, so he walked over: ”What are you talking about?”

”I said I wanted to have lunch with Grandpa outside, and Grandpa wanted to drink but I refused!”

Qin Mu answered.

Mu Yichen chuckled lightly: ”This is not the time to think about drinking!”

The old man...

With both his grandson and granddaughter-in-law saying this, the old man knew he wouldn’t be able to drink today at noon, but...

”Yichen, why don’t you and Mumu go back? I suddenly remembered I have to sit with old man Jing at noon.”

Mu Yichen and Qin Mu subtly exchanged a glance, then turned to the old man: ”I haven’t visited Grandpa Jing in a long time, let’s invite him out for dinner!”

”But I...”

Mu Yichen had just spoken when Qin Mu wanted to back out.

”You’re coming too!”

Mu Yichen easily stopped her escape.

Qin Mu, whenever she met Grandpa Jing, instinctively felt tense, although things were no longer like they were back then, and Jing Qing had found her happiness.

”Why do you two follow when us old men are together?”

”At two o’clock in the afternoon, someone from the hospital will come to your home for the IV, don’t even think about having a sip of wine!”

Mu Yichen spoke very seriously and solemnly to the old man.

The old man, hearing this, lost even the appetite for food.

In the end, the three of them went to AM without visiting Grandpa Jing. The Mu Family old man led the way, with Qin Mu and Mu Yichen trailing behind like followers.

Wherever they went, they attracted everyone’s attention. Everyone wanted to greet him, but seeing the impressive old man in front, they lowered their voices; a few who recognized the old man seriously greeted him.
